I went to Alite Laser after buying a Groupon for a Brazilian wax. When I called to make the appointment, the scheduler was super informative, and really nice. This was my first time ever to get a brazilian wax and she was very helpful, answering all my questions and addressing my concerns about the procedure. On the day of my appointment, I walked in and the front desk staff greeted me right away. I filled out some paperwork and waited for only 5 minutes to be seen. Just finished my second laser treatment and again had an excellent experience. Both technicians I have had are very skilled and sensitive to my needs. Whoever thinks laser is not worth the money should reassess. (I put it off for years thinking it was a luxury for movie stars.) The first treatment at Alite (as in first time for each area) is $60. When the hair eventually grows back (about a month later) it is much, much softer and lighter. It's too early to know, but I truly think I will only need to get each area done 2x maybe 3x total (that's minimal to no shaving in between) and then will be hair-free. As others have testified, it's much less painful than waxing and i can't believe I wasted so much money on that in the past. read more

I first started going to Alite Laser after deciding to finally do something about the awful bags under my eyes. Years of bad allergies, sinus infections, insomnia, and hereditary had started making my face look older than it is. After expressing to a friend how much I hated the bags but was too scared of plastic surgery, (and the cost,) she told me about the new procedure Alite Laser was offering called Changes. She explained to it was nonsurgical, less expensive than surgery, and that the results were almost immediate. I went to the West 17th location to meet with the Changes Technician, Valerie. I was so excited to learn about the procedure and its benefits. Valerie had so much interesting, scientific information to share with me about the Changes Program. She made me feel so confidant and comfortable with my decision that I started treatment right then. The Treatment Plan Valerie drafted for me was actually for my whole face. So my "eye luggage" was the focus but my entire face and neck received the benefits for an overall transformation! Two specific Changes treatments we used, the Isogei and the Microgei. The Isogei consisted of several electrodes placed in various places on my face and neck. The electrodes systematically pulsated contorting and "flexing" my face. It was like my face and neck was lifting weights or doing aerobics and I didn't have to physically do any of the work out! It did not really hurt during the process- it was just a strange feeling. It's very weird not having control of your own facial expressions! Part 2 of the treatment was the Isogei. My face was first massaged with a relaxing gel. The Isogei is like a pair of hand held electrodes that slide across your face emitting a range of "tingles." The electrical current actually stimulates new cell growth and brings more blood circulation to the very sensitive, tired skin cells that have been exposed to the elements all these years! I could tell an immediate difference! My face was tighter and the skin seemed firm and fresh. The tiny bit of discomfort was worth it! That annoying bit of skin under your chin that you wish could be stretched tighter...IT WAS! I'm not saying that "POOF" I was instantly all better and one session made me look 10 years younger- I'm saying I could see immediate improvement and fresher healthier skin. When you stimulate the skin to produce new cells, those cells are tighter, plumper and firmer than the beat-up sagging older cells. I was sold. My first treatment made me want the next 9 in the series! Valerie educated me about some of the other benefits of the Changes Treatments. She explained to me that the body related treatments can help tighten other areas. We spoke about my abs and thighs. I hate the new love-handles that I got for my 35th birthday. She explained how the Isogei can also be used in these areas. I'm not totally comfortable about working the lower part of my body because I have an existing lower back injury. The injury has kept me from being able to have a good work out. I only really did yoga at this point. Such a relief to get the "hair problem" taken care of. I had laser hair removal done in 3 areas (underarm, bikini, nape of neck), and it has changed my life. Seriously. Today was my first visit, so I can't comment on the results yet. However, the esthetician was very friendly and accommodating. Their prices are great too. The only negative about Alite is that they are very pushy about tips. Not only is there a sign in the office requesting tips, they also have a paragraph about it in their handout package. I have previously had laser hair removal done and never tipped. The cost of laser hair removal is high enough, I'm not giving another 15-20%. My previous hair removal was done at a dermatology office by a nurse, so I never considered tipping. Maybe it's different with an esthetician? read more

My technician's name is Chelsea and she is wonderful to be around. She makes you feel very comfortable, is very professional, makes great conversation to help distract you from the pain and is just a really nice person. She's quick & efficient, she is always in a great mood and the location is always clean and comfortable (not too hot or cold). The ladies at the front desk are also very nice. The treatments I receive there are done correctly and completely, the special pricing I got on additional areas from Alite's own special (check website- was 50% off treatments) made it possible for me to start and maintain treatments I've wanted to do for years.
