She got down to doing what she could that day (extractions ...my god extractions... followed by a peel) and sent me home with a regimen. I think I might have met some sort of medicine woman because she explained exactly what I needed to do and why I had to do it - really straightforward. Since then I've seen her a second time and am happy to report that 3 months later the acne is gone. For the first time in over a year I have consistently clear skin (with some maintenance). Of course, I now have some dark spots on my face to deal with but Terra says she can help and I totally trust her to. You can keep all the fancy bathrobes and slippers and water with lemons floating in it - give me RESULTS! That should be enough to get you in to see Terra, the fact that she took care of my moderately severe case means she can do anything you'd need her to. If you're having skin issues, Terra is a godsend. I went to see her not long after my 24th birthday because some serious "adult skin issues" were creeping up. I'd had some facials at spas, but they always seemed to focus on relaxation rather than effectiveness and I wanted something legit where I would see an actual difference. This led to me to Terra, and I seriously have had the best skin in my life since seeing her. She is totally understanding to what you want out of your appointments, listens to your skin problems, and then strategizes on how to banish them. Terra has really simplified everything about my skincare routine and I have never seen better results. Perhaps my favorite thing about Terra is that you can tell she's a genuinely cool person and has your best interest at heart. I gave her a huge list of products I had in my cabinet (that I had spent a ton of $$ on and didn't want to waste) and she was awesome at working my old products into the new routine she gave me so I didn't waste money. Not to mention the first time I saw her, I had so many acne scars that she couldn't do a full treatment, and she lowered the price to a very fair amount. I thought that simple gesture really showed a lot about her awesome character. Also, Terra has never pressured me into buying the products she sells at the office (unlike every spa I've ever been to) and she has little sample sizes that she sells for a couple bucks if you don't want to commit to one product yet. Not to mention she is excellent at follow-up after your appointment to make sure your skin is doing ok and scheduling with her is a breeze. I have been suffering with acne for years, seeing numerous dermatologists, without clear skin success. I am visiting Austin, and after reading the Yelp reviews for Terra, I made an appointment. I was so pleased. Terra took time to discuss my current skincare regimen, offering suggestions and recommendations. She is extremely knowledgeable, and understands what personalized skincare requires. We decided on dermaplaning and a skin peel, with extractions. As expected, I am pink today, but thrilled with the smoothness of my skin. I can already tell a difference. Terra spent so much time treating my skin, I couldn't believe how thorough and attentive she was. I only wish that I could continue seeing Terra. I cannot thank Terra enough for the magic she worked on my skin! I had some cystic adult hormonal acne - my skin was gross. After my first treatment and her suggestions of doubling my probiotic (I was on an antibiotic from my derm for acne) and avoiding processed foods and dairy as much as possible- viola! I found Terra through Yelp and decided to try her due to all the rave reviews (and that she did not push product on you). I scheduled a teen facial for my 12 year old son simply to get rid of some pesky blackheads. When we got there, she knew extractions were my main concern. She said he had great skin and if I didn't want to do the full facial, she could do just the extractions and charge me less. I love that! She sent us home with a free sample and recommended an over the counter face wash for him. If she does recommend product now, I'm more likely to buy it because I trust she thinks he'd need it and isn't trying to just crank up the final bill. How fantastic is Terra at 512 skincare? So fantastic that after years of being an avid yelp reader, I am finally writing my first review. Not only do I always leave her office with visibly improved skin, Terra makes the whole experience fun and enjoyable that I almost feel as if I just finished hanging out with one of my friends. But Terra always explains what she is doing, what would and wouldn't work best for my skin, provides personalized skin treatments based off of my skin type, all while patiently answering my 2348723462347 questions. What I appreciate the most, unlike most aestheticians I have been to is that she won't push a ton of incredibly expensive products on me and act as if I am making a mortal mistake if I chose not to purchase them. Terra provides the option of buying small trial sizes, and even prioritized the recommended products so if I am only looking to buy one I buy the right one. Terra doesn't even give me a hard time about my low maintenance skin care regimen, or my sporadically timed appointments. At the end of the day, Dermaplanning is awesome, Terra is funny and enjoyable, not having to choose from a long confusing menu of skincare services not knowing which would work the best for you is amazing, being able to trust product recommendations without worrying about being pressured into purchasing is invaluable and an approach I wish more professionals would implement. I'm one of those girls who washes her face with bar soap and throws some moisturizer on. I've had 3 facials in my life and although they where nice, I never really thought about making sure to get them. The results I've been experiencing from the facial and dermaplaning, that Terra did for me, are so lovely! My skin is brighter and smoother. I felt a few tugging sensations during the process and a few hair plucking type tweeks when she extracted a couple of calcium deposits from my cheeks but, nothing that made my eyes water with pain.
