Instead, I received a phone call as I was parking for my appointment--after driving about 45 minutes --to tell me they couldn't perform the laser facial because I use retinol. To make matters worse, I had called the day before to ask which parking garage to use and whether parking was validated. I was told to use a specific garage and that parking would be validated. After arriving, I learned they only validate parking on weekdays--not Saturdays. That information should have been provided when I specifically asked. I appreciate providers prioritizing patient safety, and I don't fault them for declining treatment but the lack of prior notice and incorrect information about parking left a really bitter taste. the staff took zero responsibility for their oversight and said I should have read the policy.

Dr Rasmussen has an arrogant disposition, doesn't listen fully to what's happening and cares more about his cosmetic procedure patients than helping folks on insurance who are their only option. The first one was OK, but I'd waited 29 minutes on hold before I was able to get a person to make an appointment. When I called the next day about a follow-up issue, I was on hold 10 minutes before I hung up and just drove over and demanded to see the doctor (they let me in to see herabout 15 minutes later). I never went back. The second one I went to see a few months later wanted to charge an additional $50 for removing a small spot. Each additional spot was only $15 extra and of course this wasn't covered by insurance. I didn't bother getting the small spots removed and never went back. It took a while to get an appointment with Dr. Rasmussen but it was worth the wait. The first thing he did was apologize for being a few minutes late. He did a thorough exam and prescribed a few items that I'll be using. He also took enough time to discuss the issues I went to see him about. I love the fact that he gave me his own extension as well as a direct line to the scheduling department. He also has a secure portal, which is my favorite (and easiest) way to to contact the doctor directly. I'm very pleased and will be using him as my Dermatologist from now on.

Warning: Missing Shipment and Frustrating Customer Service…read more I've been a customer of The Medspa Austin since June of last year and have spent a total of $3,834 with them. Up until recently, I never had any issues when receiving my Trezepited shots in person. Nurse Practitioner Ashley Johnson and Dr. Paydon Newman both provided excellent care and really helped me achieve my goals--this review does not reflect on them at all. However, after switching to semiglutide, the first shipment arrived without a problem, but the second one never showed up. The UPS delivery photo was just a black screen, even though I was home all day. I filed a missing package claim with UPS and also contacted The Medspa Austin and the fulfillment company in Dallas. Everyone was polite and tried to help, but ultimately referred me back to The Medspa Austin because they needed to complete a form UPS had provided. Despite my efforts, The Medspa Austin would not replace the missing shipment, citing the "delivered" tracking information, and asked me to pay an additional $200 for a new shipment. I wasn't asking for a discount or a refund--I just wanted the shipment I had already paid for. This has been extremely frustrating, especially given the amount of money I've already spent and my previously positive experiences with their team. Until this missing shipment issue is resolved, I cannot recommend The Medspa Austin. However, I do want to emphasize that my negative experience does not reflect on Ashley Johnson or Dr. Paydon Newman, who both provided wonderful care.
