Pros: clean alkaline water Cons: Expensive - charged $5 for $2 worth of water. I came in with 1/2 gallon bottle plus 3 small bottles 20ml each, total capacity less than 1 gallon. Owner insisted my jug was 1 gallon and my 3 small bottles were another gallon. I paid to avoid the argument but he wouldn't believe me. So we emptied the 1/2 gallon into one of his containers and YEP IT was 1/2 gallon LOL - do you think he made it right? Nope. Very good service and wonderful product. I never ever drink any other water. I like the 5 gallon bottle, instead of generating more individual smaller plastic bottles. I love drinking this water on its own, or for making coffee and tea. I am a big fan of great coffee, and there is a huge difference in the taste, using this water. This local water service establishment helped me out when I was in a very unique bind. I was filming a video for a non-profit and needed to find a 5-gallon water jug to use for the video. I tried calling around the various stores that could carry them, but none were willing to loan/rent me a jug. I called Alka-Pi and at first they were unable to help, but then after I came to the store, the owner told me that they sell used jugs for $5 that I could get. The man was nice enough to downsell me on a product! I was so thankful that they could help me out and it was all for a good cause. This Asian woman was the rudest woman ive ever encountered in my life. I entered the store and she look at me and continued her phone conversation for 5 mins before I interrupted and asked her for service. Then she waves me off to go refill my container on my own. I would NEVER support a business like this that are rude to costumers and wouldn't suggest you come here. Plus the water is not the cleanest. read more

July - 2017: The alkaline water tastes really good. It costs $2.50/gallon. Regular filtered water is $0.50/gallon. I gave this place one star because I have purchased my water many times in the last year but the lady that works there (who won't even tell me her name) is always grouchy and hard to understand. The latter is not a deal breaker but a bad attitude and poor appreciation of your customers is. There is a friendly alkaline water place on Overland who will be getting my business now. I also noticed they don't really wash out my water jugs before refilling them. SAD FACE They really don't even get two stars from me because the customer service is only nice when the male clerk helps me. It is too inconsistent for me. read more

I've read up on purified water. There is so much info out there its hard to figure out what to believe. But here's the conclusion I've come to: filtered water is better than non filtered, plastic bottles are harmful to your health, and brita water filters don't do a whole lot. For $2.50 a gallon, I think buying alkaline water is a safe bet. It taste great and is (supposably) really good for you, so why not? The store is located on westwood but they have a few parking spots in the back of the building. The owner is nice and helps you carry the water out to your car. Even though I've heard that drinking tap water is harmless, I think that the water at Alka-Pi tastes so much better. The cost for regular water is $0.50/gal and the fancy water is $2.50/gal. They sell an assortment of BPA-free water jugs and their prices are cheaper than other stores that sell them. As a plus, I received 5 gallons of water for free when I purchased my jug! The service is great and there are a couple parking spots (reserved for Alka-Pi customers) in the back of the store. The owner helps you bring the water to the back with his handy dandy cart. read more

I love this alkaline water store! It's clean and the operators are very helpful/friendly. It's a bit more pricey than I'm used to paying for alkaline water, but definitely worth it. They provide several helpful resources for how to move your body into an alkaline state (use of water, foods, thoughts, etc). Alka-Pi will deliver your water for a $10 fee if you live locally enough (10 gal minimum), and they sell at-home water filtration systems that treat your water the same as the store does (call for pricing). read more
