Absolutely amazing views here! As with any beach during warm weather, it does get quite crowded. I prefer the late evening or very early in the morning. If you're here at night, you'll get to experience the mini bonfires. read more

One of the few beaches Seattle has! In the summer, this place is packed. Parking is always an issue in the summer, so if you're going to go when it's hot, squeeze out as much time there as you can! People often come here for Fourth of July and other reasons to bust out a bonfire. This place is beautiful at night. The Seattle skyline is breathtaking. read more

10 minute drive from downtown Seattle. Beautiful view of the city and islands. It's the closest thing Seattle has to a beach. Restaurants along the strip to grab a bite. GREAT paved path for walking, biking and rollerblading. I go at least once every two weeks. If you're visiting, make sure this is on your checklist! read more

This beach is cool. They allow firepits. You see cruise ships and container ships floating by. They have bike rentals and watercraft rentals including stand up paddle boards. The water taxi shuttles you back and forth for a mere 3.75 from Seattle to West Seattle. Also a free shuttle takes you around too. read more

when we went to West Seattle, we stopped into this location for a soup (others had coffee). Mellow, clean and reminded me a lot of Alameda. Anyway, soup was good and the pastries looked good through the display window. read more

I came here last summer with a friend in the afternoon. We laid down on the beach, dug our feet into the sand and took a nice nap. Then, we played some volleyball and cooled over in the water. Can you think about a better way to spend an afternoon? read more

We used to come here when my high school was only a few minutes away. Nice place to spend the afternoon at to enjoy the sun and some of the smaller eatery and Starbucks. However parking on a prime days is horrendous as with all waterfront/park in Washington. I enjoy my stay here each time and spent many of lunches at Salty's. Not much to do however a relaxing place to spend the afternoon; a place like this is definitely one of the few "outside city live" treasure in Seattle. read more

The fantastic stretching views of downtown Seattle with the Space Needle is probably the best offering here. That and ample parking, plus clean restrooms. Aside from that, I found the beach park itself less than picturesque. There were pieces of trash littered about, and the beach itself didn't look very inviting. After some photos, my friends and I resorted to the Starbucks across the street and not soon after left Alki Beach Park. read more

I usually only come to Alki when the weather is nice even though it gets really congested on the strip. I like to wash my extremely lowred car then cruise over to Alki on a nice summer evening and break some necks. Be aware though during the summer that this place gets kinda ghetto with the teeny boppers being loud and reckless. There is usually a pretty good police presense here in the late afternoons and evenings. The views of seattle from here are pretty nice and is also a good place to ride a bike/longboard. read more

Beautiful unobstructed view of the Seattle skyline, great place to get a good long walk in, take some fantastic pictures, ride your bike along the route, roller blade, people watch, sit on the man made beach, walk your dog, have some good food, get some great coffee, get there early. Only downside is that parking can be an issue on a sunny day when everyone it out looking for a spot. The place gets packed...especially on holiday weekends and when events are going on in that area. read more

Fun place to hang out. the Sand isn't the best, but they do have places you can make a fire which is nice. West Seattle is a cool place to hang out any time, if you haven't seen Seattle this is a nice place to visit. read more

Water is freezing. Objectively, not that great of a beach, but it's pretty cool that there is a beach so close to downtown.

Probably the best place to people watch in the summer. Also definitely the closest thing Seattle has to a beach culture (except of course GGardens bonfires). Anyways, if you head down on a sunny day you can be sure to find tons of heads out on the beach and cruising around. Its a great place to, um, get well if your not feeling too great on one of those said sunny days. read more

When its sunny and warm Alki is the spot to chill out. This is also the best spot to view Downtown Seattle. You have a great view from the Space Needle in the north to the boat docks/ports in the south. I had a lot of great teenage memories here. Now I just come here to eat lunch on my days off and watch the great view. I tried eating outside on the picnic tables but there's too many birds/crows watching you. They get closer and closer. get back in the car! read more

I grew up coming to this beach! While I've never thought of this as a "real" beach, I do love coming here. Beautiful view of the skyline. Fire pits for bonfire ... lots of fun places to eat. It's relaxing to come here on a nice day! read more

Love this place but the parking has never been very good. You have to get there early on event days otherwise you will be in for a long walk or hike up one of the hills. read more

Went on a cool spring morning that was projected to hit 70 degrees, nice views and plenty of people watching made it a great day for a walk up and down the beach. None of the food/drinks seemed all that beach-front-simple to me. But, the people and the quiet area were very nice. read more

We didn't actually make use of the beach, just the viewpoint for some super Seattle skyline pictures... oh and the "Honey Bucket" porta-potty, which was also decent. read more

I had my first bonfire there last night and can't wait to do it again. The beach isn't really much of a beach compared to what I'm used to in the Bay Area, but for it being in the city allows for 5 stars. My son had a blast being able to grab a hot dog and/or smores at the bonfire and then run off to ride his skateboard down the strip. read more

My hangout for a long time when I lived in West Seattle. Good place to catch a run, walk at low tide on the beach, get breakfast or pizza, have a latte as the sun rises or sets. read more

The beach trail is great for joggers, bicyclist, skateboarders, etc. the views are the best you can get at a beach or trail of downtown seattle. I wish the beach was a little bigger and nicer. Best running trail in the state. The variety of activities you can do and places to eat are too many to yelp, especially if you include taking it all the way down to Lincoln Park or the other way to Luna Park. It is far from convenient to get to, which adds another tick to the "Pros" list in my opinion. read more

I really recommend going here during LOW-TIDE. It is very interesting to see all the remnants of the past that stick up during low-tide. Oh yeah, don't forget to accidentally drop some pocket change for a metal detector dude to pick up. read more

Best place to view Seattle skyline & harbor any time of the day. This place reminds of SAUSALITO near to San Francisco. Beautiful houses lining the sea, people busy bicycling, walking, kayaking, paddling, watching ships go in & out of harbor or just enjoying the day at beach. The beach is small & waves bring along lots of weeds. Finding parking during weekends is a big challenge & time consuming. Must visit place when in Seattle!! read more

My family loves this beach. Sandy beach with boardwalk feels. Fun for kids to build castles and play in the water. Lots of nearby restaurants to eat at or you could bring your own food and eat on the beach . Great place to roller blade or jog or go for a bike ride. Very pretty houses all along the beach. Parking could be challenging but well worth it . Perfect place to relax when you want to be a beach bum. read more

Spent time there around sunset in June. Beautiful. My three year old daughter had a blast running along the beach wall like the widest balance beam ever. Will make sure to visit this area again the next time I'm in Seattle. read more
