Mood - Going home Souvenirs Upon entering it was so chill and laid back. The owner Dave chatted us up about how things have changed since the last time I was home. It was nice being able to talk shop with someone who gets it. Looking around there is a little of everything. Even Sex wax so yes that was a must. And they had the right flavor Strawberry. You know when you open up something and smell it then all of the memories are flooded to your mind instantly - well this most certainly did that. I will admit I got a few items. Shot glass for my friend in NY, hoodie for the fam, and some other trinkets to remind me of home. Interior is pretty awesome. Everything is bright and colorful, and the owner is pretty amazing. It is nice to have great customer service. There are so many items in here, even beverages for that hot sunny day that comes at times. Would recommend- pricing was reasonable. You will def find something unique in here. And the logos on their clothing is custom made. Now dont get this one confused with the one from down the street over 10 years ago. This is a different location and new owner. Location is Alkai Beach Ave/ Lander - parking is streets, but it is ample

Top 5 Reasons to Stop Here. 1. The owner 2. The customer service 3. The glasses 4. The vibe 5. The send off The owner made us feel so at home and I was just getting a pair of sunglasses because mine from home had broken. We walked upstairs and took a look around to see what all they had and I found a really cute pair of black sunglasses with some gold accents. They fit me perfectly and I couldn't be happier with them now 3 months later. We went to check out and had to wait a little bit for him to finish filling up floaties for someone... He blew up their stuff! So nice! We got up to the front and he started chatting with us. He seemed very hospitable and we talked about where he has lived and gone. He was just so great. He also has a cute little sign in book near the register. He is one of the only people to pronounce my name correctly. After the interaction he did something special for us. He brought out his conch shell and blew it and said some cool things in Hawaiian maybe and it just made the day. Such a cool little shop off the beach. Hopefully you can stop by too and get a special send off.

This is the first review I have ever posted to yelp--that is how happy I am with the service provided by the staff of this establishment. Searching for the elusive "Jewish Wisdom Ball" as a humorous gift for my 92 year-old father (who fortunately needs nothing), it was out of stock everywhere, until it showed up on the gift shop website, on sale no less. I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Within 48 hours I received a cheery message wishing me a "Happy Hanukkah", confirming shipping and actually apologizing for not having mailed it faster in the midst of the busy holiday season! I have since had occasion to contact them again and they are always prompt, professional and courteous. The gift shop is in Seattle while I live in Illinois, yet they treat me as though I am an old friend or longtime congregation member who has been walking through their doors often over the years. Based on this positive experience I intend to continue to support them with future purchases where appropriate. They are the sort of people we need more of in the world today and I can't thank them enough for the manner in which they do their jobs.

I kind of thought you could buy most essentials at the airport, but it turns out children's shoes are not a typical travel need, at least when they aren't being worn by traveling children. Fireworks did carry children's slippers, which caught my eye as I passed, as well as a nice assortment of unique, crafty toys and gifts. Unfortunately, my five-year-old followed me into the store and zeroed in on a tiny, colorful finger puppet in the shape of a parrot. He asked me to buy it for him, and I declined, telling him we weren't getting a souvenir before we even left the airport. He was upset by this to the point of tears, but I managed to get us out of there. We had a wonderful time in Seattle, and to his credit, the five-year-old behaved well the whole trip (and the two-year-old got new shoes). When I saw Fireworks Gallery again by our departure gate, I decided at the last possible second to stop in and get him the parrot. It was one of several Folkmanis finger puppets in a wire basket. I picked it up along with a bunny rabbit and went to check out. There was a short line at the register--I guess this shop gets decent traffic--and by the time I was up, my husband was calling to tell me we were boarding. This is how I paid $36.36 for two finger puppets that cost $10 apiece online. Fireworks got me good, but my boys do love their little puppets, which are soft and cute and well made. The wares here are definitely nicer and less generic than at your average airport store. It might cost you, though, if you wander in there with your kids.

To me, where this museum really shines, is the Native exhibits offering both past and present history on rotation and access to working scientists. I always learn a lot when I go. When the wet lab is active may be my favorite part. Watching animal skeletons prepped. Might be a little gross for some people so check the schedule if you are squeamish. Another note for Parents is that there is a small play area on the top floor. Perfect for rainy days with the little ones. The surrounding University grounds are great to let them run around as well. There is a Starbucks at the Suzzallo Library and bathrooms too if you left the Burke and have a kid who needs to go even after they were prompted a million times before you exited the Burke! There are also tons of food options and a couple small grocery stores nearby. Which is great if you/your group have dietary needs. The light rail station is very close by and many buses drop off / pick up right across the street. Public transit to this location is quite good and I recommend it, especially since youth 18 and under are free to ride.

We came from Mercer Island, taking the light rail (and monorail) and I was pleasantly surprised at how short the journey was. No email address was required to purchase the tickets, which actually became a bit of a problem as any activities done during the visit is tied to your ticket. There were two picture taking opportunities, and both were not very good. One was before you entered, and tied to your ticket. There was no way to download the picture, instead having to take a screenshot to save it. And the picture taking opportunity up on top (where an email address is needed to get the picture), didn't work. We took two pictures sent to two different email addresses, and neither one made it.
