Mood - Going home Souvenirs Upon entering it was so chill and laid back. The owner Dave chatted us up about how things have changed since the last time I was home. It was nice being able to talk shop with someone who gets it. Looking around there is a little of everything. Even Sex wax so yes that was a must. And they had the right flavor Strawberry. You know when you open up something and smell it then all of the memories are flooded to your mind instantly - well this most certainly did that. I will admit I got a few items. Shot glass for my friend in NY, hoodie for the fam, and some other trinkets to remind me of home. Interior is pretty awesome. Everything is bright and colorful, and the owner is pretty amazing. It is nice to have great customer service. There are so many items in here, even beverages for that hot sunny day that comes at times. Would recommend- pricing was reasonable. You will def find something unique in here. And the logos on their clothing is custom made. Now dont get this one confused with the one from down the street over 10 years ago. We walked upstairs and took a look around to see what all they had and I found a really cute pair of black sunglasses with some gold accents. They fit me perfectly and I couldn't be happier with them now 3 months later. We went to check out and had to wait a little bit for him to finish filling up floaties for someone... He blew up their stuff! So nice! We got up to the front and he started chatting with us. He seemed very hospitable and we talked about where he has lived and gone. He was just so great. He also has a cute little sign in book near the register. He is one of the only people to pronounce my name correctly. After the interaction he did something special for us. He brought out his conch shell and blew it and said some cool things in Hawaiian maybe and it just made the day. Such a cool little shop off the beach. Went here today with a surfer friend from LA. Hubby & I had sent him a t-shirt awhile ago with one of their cool logos on it. He was looking for a rash guard shirt to wear while surfing. Unfortunately they don't sell them (yet). Talked with the bomb diggety owner Dave & he's going to look into getting some. I was tempted by 2 of their t-shirts myself but not available in v-neck style. Dave again got inspiration to order some in that style for ladies. I'll be back to buy 1 or 2 when they're available. I always try to at least spend one day on the beach while in Seattle. Found this little gem of a shop while strolling around. Kahuna Dave is awesome! He chatted with me while I looked around and I even got the Royal Hawaiian send off when I left! They have a good selection of unique souvenirs and clothing as well as beach items. What good things can't I say about this shop? I walked out with a hoodie and a shirt for $37 total. I got a traditional Hawaiian send off. The owner is an absolute legend of an individual. This is such a fun little shop! I had always thought it would be nice for Alki to have more shops sprinkled amongst the restaurants along the main strip, and I was excited to see that this new one had popped up since I last visited. They have a lot of Alki shirts and various other souvenirs with the Alki name on them, and they also have a nice assortment of tiki masks, mugs, puka shell jewelry, kites, etc. I picked out a really awesome tiki mask that was handmade in Bali for my place...it looks awesome and I can't wait to hang it! The man who runs the shop is super friendly, took the time to introduce himself to everyone who entered the shop, and he even blows his conch shell for every customer who purchases something as they exit...ha ha. It was cute and makes for a memorable experience. I really hope his shop is successful..it's in a good location, and really adds something to the Alki strip that I think the area lacks - cool Alki and beach-y souvenirs with an authentic surf culture vibe. This shop is special. I left super stoked about our finds in this shop, but it was Kahuna Dave's attentive help finding what we needed and the awsome traditional Hawaiian send off that made our visit an experience that we will always remember! The shop had the typical beach themed finds like bracelets, kites and nick-nacks. It also had a large selection Alki shirts, tanks and sweatshirts for reasonable prices. My score was Locals slippers (flip-flops) and a traditional mexican poncho. The poncho was only $20! Quite a steal campared to Zumiez cost of $40! I love buying Local and next time I'm at Alki I will definitely hit this shop up again. read more
