Debbie Santangelo, owner of All About Blinds, has always been most responsive for all of our window treatments. Her knowledge, professional demeanor and attention to detail has always far exceeded our expectations every time we've done business with her. She is truly a pleasure to work with. However, this time was a different situation. This time I wasn't in the market for anything new. In fact, far from it. We have Hunter Douglas duet shades in one of our bedrooms, shades that must be at least 10 years old. A few weeks ago, Zachary, our 6 year old grandson, came walking out of the bedroom carrying one of the shades. He was pretty distraught. While opening the shade, something his grandmother had taught him to do, one of the mounting brackets broke causing the shade to fall into Zachary's arms. He of course brought the blinds to Grandpa. In Zachary's mind Grandpa can fix anything. What Zachary didn't know (and will remain our secret) after we had new windows installed Grandpa installed the shades' mounting brackets backwards causing them to break when Zachary tried opening them. Grandpa's dilemma was how to fix this and maintain his (my) reputation in Zachary's eyes. To make a long story a little shorter, I discovered the Hunter Douglas label on the inside of the shade. It had all of the order detail needed to identify the mounting brackets for these old shades. Unfortunately, it also indicated where the shades were purchased... Great Expectations... long time out of business. But when I realized Hunter Douglas was the manufacturer , I immediately thought of Debbie Santangelo! One quick phone call, which Debbie answered on the first ring (still a wonderful aspect of a small family owned business... no automated answering system) and Debbie was on it. I was embarrassed to tell her that we didn't order the shades from her. To my delight that didn't distract Debbie. She told me she would do her best to find me new mounting brackets. One week later, I had four new Hunter Douglas mounting brackets delivered to my front door. And yes, Zachary immediately noticed that Grandpa had fixed the shade. We had finished a complete home remodel and needed new window coverings throughout the house. I started a search on-line and found All About Blinds on Yelp and it had good reviews and was local so I thought I would give it a try. I am sure glad I did. Debbie was wonderful to work with. She had a great selection and was able to give good advise to weigh cost versus quality/durability. All of her pricing included installation. She also had a great eye so was able to help greatly when making selections. We got faux wood blinds for the bedrooms and family room, sun shades for the kitchen and laundry room that are easy to clean and let light through, and custom draperies for the living/dining rooms. We couldn't be happier with the results. The blinds and shades arrived within 2 weeks and it only took the installation guys 30 minutes to install them to 7 windows-amazing! The draperies of course took longer to arrive and install, but it was well worth the wait. Debbie is just a fantastic person and knows her window treatments. We just finished a project with Debbie in our new home and could not be happier. We interviewed many companies and designers when we were deciding who to work with since our project was so large and she was by far the best! She was able to quickly schedule a consultation with us at our home and had so many samples to choose from within the Hunter Douglas line. Debbie was so patient with us as we completed our project in phases. The blinds were delivered and installed in about 2-3 weeks and the installation went well. When there was something that needed to be corrected or addressed Debbie and her team were quick to respond. We are so happy with the finished product. We used mostly the Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shades with power and are really enjoying the light and privacy that they provide. The power component is one of our favorite features since we have so many windows and were glad Debbie gave us her insight on that. The Hunter Douglas Luminette Privacy Sheers we had in our home needed replacement after 25 years. I was referred to All About Blinds by Hunter Douglas. When I called them, Debbie answered my call and talked me through my requirements, expected cost, time needed to place order and then to have it installed. She informed me upfront that Hunter Douglas blinds are expensive and there may be cheaper alternatives. But I was set on Hunter Douglas and said so. I highly recommend All About Blinds. Debbie scheduled an appointment at our home quickly and was extremely helpful recommending options for our windows. We received our quotes for two different window treatments in a timely fashion. When the product arrived, Debbie scheduled the installers when it was convenient for us. Debbie was great to work with. We called several blind companies and found her to provide open advice and competitive pricing. We originally inquired about solar shades. We knew there would be some visibility from the outside at night. None of the other vendors explained to us that with solar shades there is almost clear visibility from the exterior at night when the lights are on. Debbie explained the pros and cons and we went with regular shades. She also helped us decide between 2 colors. We originally were thinking of going w/a latte shade, but she gave us her advice on a grey shade to match our color decor. I'm so excited about my Hunter Douglas Vertiglide shade...I wanted to tell everyone!!!!! I was looking for a shade for my sliding door but didn't want to take away from the view. The accordion-style shade I purchased from All About Blinds tucks back to 6" or pulls across...all inside the frame of the sliding window!!! It looks beautiful, as well as being functional. Debbie came out twice to get me exactly what I wanted/needed for my patio door but didn't know (HD roller shades in Desert Mist).
