From the moment…read moreyou enter the studio until the time you leave after class - perhaps also after enjoying some yogi tea and socialization with your fellow students - the energy here is peaceful, warm, positive, and welcoming. The yoga teachers at RYK are excellent, knowledgeable, and caring, focused on the students and making sure each student has a meaningful practice each and every time he or she comes to class. Throughout the class, your yoga teacher explains the meaning and purpose of each posture, hand gesture, and meditation as well as the importance of dwelling in the silence between the words and the movements. Kundalini Yoga is not just stretching and holding a pose. This practice is robust both physically and spiritually. Each class is a different practice focusing on physical, mental, and emotional balance and well-being. These classes and this yoga practice are transformative on all levels. And the sound baths with the gong(s)....magickal! Plus, RYK has affordable packages so that you can get the absolute most from this exquisite studio. (And their gift shop is fabulous, too!). I highly recommend RYK Yoga and Meditation Center without qualification. This studio, the Kundalini practice, and the wonderful teachers here have been life-changing for me. Thank you, Mahadev and Susana.

Over the years, I have attended regular classes, completed Teacher Training, and traveled with the RYK community to both India and Bali. These experiences have given me the opportunity to experience the teachings not only in the classroom but also in daily life and in different parts of the world. One of the things I appreciate most about RYK is the consistency of support it provides. The regular classes create a structure that helps me stay connected to practices and perspectives that support growth, wellbeing, groundedness, and prosperity in its broader sense. The teachings challenge me appropriately, encouraging me to continue expanding while remaining connected to myself and my values. What has always stood out to me is the authenticity of the space. Everything feels thoughtfully chosen and aligned with the values being taught. Whether it is the teachings themselves, the artwork on the walls, the spiritual symbols, thangkas, malas, gemstones, Ayurvedic supplies, sheepskins, clothing sourced from India and Bali, or products from carefully selected American brands, there is a sense of integrity and intention throughout the entire center. Mahadev brings a combination of knowledge, experience, dedication, and humility to his teaching. The community that has formed around RYK has also been an important part of my experience. Over the years, I have met many thoughtful and caring people through this space, and the environment consistently feels welcoming and supportive. After more than six years, I continue to attend classes and remain grateful that RYK is part of my life. In a city known for many things, it has become one of the places that helps me stay connected to what matters most.

I was busy that night but the fact that she went out of her way to accommodate me even though it was my mistake is stellar customer service. I bought a 10 pack class package with them and was actually thinking of becoming a member. Well, that won't be happening anymore. I just finished a Pilates Reformer class and I was sitting in the waiting area putting my shoes back on and their owner comes out scolding her front desk employees stating that their Pilates instructor should not be mingling with the front desk employees and continued to state that if she catches it again that she will start firing employees. Mind you, there were a few of her clients/members that were out in the waiting area. How unprofessional can you be?! She couldn't keep that conversation behind closed doors?! Oh and that wasn't the end of it. She continued her tantrum when one of the member asked if she was Cindy (the owner) and she answers stating, "just email me." Did not even asked who is speaking to her and did not even bother looking at the person talking to her?! I was horrified just sitting there watching all this unfold. The audacity and rudeness she presented as the owner of the place?! It gave me such a bad taste of place!!! I have been in the Vegas fitness community for a while and never have I seen such disrespect and lack of professionalism especially from the owner! There are a lot of other places and competition in Vegas and for her to display such attitude, I will not be giving her my business again! I come to these studios to destress and not be part of such toxic environment.

Through ClassPass, I signed up for a Friday night Slow Flow & Yin Sound Bath with Polly Whittaker. It was one of the best yoga classes I've ever taken. I cried. Let me be clear: I'm picky about virtually everything in an exercise class. From sequences and pacing to the music, lighting and (most importantly) the instructor's approach, I am the opposite of chill -- because why would I pay to exercise outside of my house when I could do it at home for free? If the instructor gives too much or too little direction, makes me feel rushed, isn't trauma-informed / doesn't make the class accessible for all, has a voice or a vibe that doesn't sit right with me, emphasizes "working out" over mindfulness and connection, uses vocabulary I find grating (the word "yummy" to describe a stretch is a big offender) ... you get it -- I'm checked out. (Yes, I know this is a character flaw; yes, I am working on it!) To my immense joy, Yoga Sanctuary hit it out of the park for me on every level. Polly is such a gifted guide. Every word felt intentional, grounded and thoughtfully paced. I could have mistaken her instruction for one of the pre-recorded, meticulously edited guided meditations I listen to; she was that good. But what I really appreciated was how balanced the class felt. Nothing was totally riffed or overly structured. There was deep stretching and light strength-building, but there were also moments of deep connection and presence threaded throughout the 75-minute session. The sound bath and yoga nidra elements toward the end were just dreamy. Some people might prefer a more vigorous experience, but for me, this was exactly how a yoga class should feel. Props to the studio itself, too. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. Dim lighting and candles in the room set a soothing tone, and there were plenty of props to go around and space to spread out. I came here expecting to stretch and breathe for an hour. I left transformed, feeling connected to myself and the world around me again, nourished from the inside out. What a gift. I can't wait to return again and again.

Because they don't think they should have to pay for a mantra? After The Beatles famous story and hearing Jerry Seinfeld's interviews about it, I decided it was worth spending the money to find out what's really going on. You get what you pay for, right? And, only a small amount of it goes to the instructors. The rest goes to the foundation. I wanted this instruction and knowledge so I paid for it. That was two months ago. Although I haven't felt anything major, no shifts in my life or personality or anything I can put a finger on, I do look forward to my 20 sessions twice a day. I've meditated before but not very successfully. Too much restless legs and my mind running all over the place, I eventually get up frustrated and don't try again until I'm super depressed or anxious and looking for relief. The structure of TM and the way it was instructed stayed with me and I apply it every time I sit down to do it. My mind wanders, but that's ok. You just gently bring it back to your mantra and continue on. It's not about trying to clear or empty your mind. Just being silent and relaxed and repeating the mantra. People report having a lot more energy in their days when they do TM, better sleep, more relaxed. I've noticed a little of that but I'm also in the middle of doing TMS treatment (TM and TMS at the same time? Yeah! I tried doing TM during my TMS treatment. They're both 20 minutes. I only did it once and didn't notice anything. I figured I'll just do them separately for now. The TM isn't exactly calming with a digital woodpecker pecking at your brain.) I'm also doing some Joe Dispenza meditations and have, in general, been working on my mental health, depression and anxiety daily for a little over a year now so when I feel some relief or joy, who knows where it's actually coming from. I'm scheduled for The Hoffman Process in March. Very much looking forward to that! Michael is a sweet, calm, very knowledgeable man and it was fun and informative learning the process from him. He's very generous with his time and has an on-going open door policy for his students. So far, I'm good with where I'm at so I don't have any plans to visit him again any time soon but when I do, I'll look forward to seeing him again. I think the desired outcome of TM is actually transcending and being "gone". I haven't been there yet. Michaeal said it was over a year of doing TM before it happened to him. This, like with all meditation, isn't about achieving some goal or enlightenment but more of something that happens when it happens and the only way it can happen is by meditating so I'll continue. Speaking of which, it's my time for my PM TM. If you're on the fence about TM in Las Vegas, allow me to push you over. Go visit and learn from Michael, or Janice. They're good people and TM is a great community to be involved in!
