All About Me is the perfect salon in Hilton Head to go to when everything is going crazy around you and all you want is a breather with some typical salon conversation and a great mani/pedi. I love April at AAM. She helped me figure out what in the world I was going to do to my nails that never grow as long as they were for our wedding. I love that the salon is VERY clean, the pedicure chairs were comfortable, I received a cold glass of water in a wine glass so I felt special, and once again, did I mention it was spotlessly clean? April and I talked the entire time, and she kept me nice and relaxed while everything else was all over the place getting prepared for the wedding. I wanted to do something special for my ring finger, so instead of the pale pink polish that I used on all my other 9 nails, April used a subtle sparkle gel polish for my ring finger that made it shimmer in the sunlight. Yes, it is all about the simple things in life my friends. She advised that since I am hard on my nails, to do the gel set on my hands and regular polish on my toes. Done and done. The cost? Minimal, and I would have paid more after the service and quality of the services I received. My gel nails lasted through the wedding two days later and all of vacation at the pool and beach and my ring finger polish is still on that finger over two weeks later. If you want a clean, friendly, budget-friendly salon that has a great staff, go see April and/or Rachel at All About Me and you will NOT be disappointed. Not one bit. read more

I had a very nice experience at All About Me! I got a haircut from Jennifer - nothing dramatic, just some re-shaping and freshening up. As soon as I sat down, we did a little consultation about what kind of cut I wanted, what I wanted to change, and what I wanted to stay the same. Then she shampooed me, and did most of the cutting while my hair was wet. Detailing and bang trim were done with dry hair. Jennifer had to work quickly because I arrived a bit late, but she did a very good job. Her blow-drying technique took me aback, because I'd never had it done that way before, but it resulted in a lot of volume and my hair fell nicely. The cut itself was great. It was $50 for the cut, shampoo, and blow-dry, which I thought was super reasonable. I was glad to find a place within my budget, with all the very expensive salons & spas that are common in HHI. They have little envelopes by the register for cash and check tips. I charged the service to my debit card and wrote a check for the gratuity (I got the impression that was preferred, rather than adding it onto the card charge.) Will definitely go back! read more

I would love to be able to give All About Me a good review. The staff was very pleasant and they dealt with both of my customer service issues promptly. However, the last experience was more than I could bear. At this point, a promised resolution has still not been met. I first visited All About Me for a manicure and pedicure. I was quoted $55 over the phone. They got me in that day. I had to be at work at 3:30, so I had an appointment at 12:30. No problem at all, right? Wrong. I was late for work and left with unfinished polish. The woman was very sweet, but openly admitted she didn't know what she was doing. She kept repeating it over and over again. She was a hair stylist, whom they wanted to do nails. And from what I can tell no training was obviously offered. I am in the beauty business, and my #1 rule was to never put somebody on the floor that wasn't knowledgeable about the service they are providing. A 3 hour manicure and pedicure, really? And I still left with them unfinished. I came back the next day to have it redone for free. The lady was nice, but not very talkative. The service seemed better, but not what I am use to. I am a runner, so I need the damage the cuticle leaves on the nail bed buffed to get rid of the ridges. But whatever, it was free. The 3rd time I visited All About Me, I called to make an appointment for a manicure and pedicure and eyelash extension touch up. I verified the price over the phone. $40 for the touch up and $55 for the mini manicure and pedicure. First, they asked that I reschedule twice!!! When I finally got there, they switched my appointments around, because of "scheduling conflicts." I really didn't want the manicure /pedicure first, because I didn't want to mess up my nails when I go to lay down on the bed. When I voiced my concern, I was dismissed. The girl that did them this time, was very nice. Although, she kept talking about how "hungover" she was and how she went out with another staff member. So, it's now time for the lash fill. She seemed a little nervous and uncomfortable. I managed a lash shop in Texas and have done lashes before. I am use to a certain type of service, but like to give creative individuals their freedom. She didn't tape down my lower lashes. She didn't even separate them, until I asked her to. I don't understand how she was going to make sure proper isolation and separation were done to avoid irritation and infection? They were longer, but not full at all. A full set to me is 80 lashes per eye, a touch up starts at 40. I didn't have a lot, because my normal lash lady had to cancel. And All About Me moved my appointment twice. But I was going to a wedding, so needed to come in asap! So, next I go to pay it's now $75 for the manicure and pedicure. Hmmmnnn, I verified the $55 mini manicure and pedicure price that I paid initially. The next day I called to see if the lash girl had enough time to put more in. They weren't very full. They said yes. I talked to the one who did them. By the time I got there, all of my lashes had fallen off. I did my research and thought maybe our communication was wrong. Maybe the service I was getting was the tabbing or the temporary adhesive. She confirmed that I did get the service I was expecting. She was going to try to order another adhesive and now redo them the next week. She calls and moves my appointment AGAIN because the adhesive had not come in. It is now the day before I am to leave for a wedding. I have had no lashes for 2 weeks now. The receptionist calls and says the adhesive didn't come in and perhaps I need to try another salon on the island. Thanks for the notice! I am leaving tomorrow. They didn't want to lose my business, so a $40 gift certificate would be waiting for me?!? What? I want a refund. She then says, well technically, we under charged you for the first visit. It was actually a full set not a touch up. What?!? I explained to her that (to me) a full set is at least 80 lashes per eye and a touch up is 40 lashes per eye. I got about 10-15 lashes per eye. She said she would refund my money for the lash fill, it is now a week later and that has not happened. If there was a problem with that as well, I wish they would have called. Save yourself the money and aggravation. It's not worth it. I am very sorry to say. I am sorry All About Me, but this has been a very disheartening experience. read more

Got us in at late notice for manis and pedis. My manicure was a standard guy manicure. Sweetness felt her pedicure was very good and the manicure was good too. Lauren was the nail tech and was personable and professional. We called early and they wait listed us and called later and fit us in. I believe we've found our place for manis and pedis while on vacation. We'll be back next year. read more

All About Me Salon was fabulous! I worked with Deanne to plan my wedding appointments. She was right on top of everything and soothed me of any concerns since I was an out-of-state bride that couldn't come to the salon ahead of time. I got my make-up done by Bridgett and she did a fabulous job. I have never had my make-up done better. It looked great, was exactly what I asked for, and felt like I had no make-up on! She also had a fabulous personality! My mom, my sister, and I all got our and nails done there too! And there is nothing I could find to complain about. The girls had great expertise, did a great job, and were wonderful! My mom nicked her nail color the day before and they fixed it for her right away on the wedding day. My mom's hair looked fabulous! I have never seen her look better! My sister's and my hair came our perfectly! I couldn't believe how wonderful the salon was!
