I would highly recommend All About Paws. We were visiting family in NY and needed a place for our pup to be boarded so we could travel out of the country. I called ahead of time to schedule the boarding and provided all the vaccines. It was very convenient to leave him to a place that is close to the airport so we could take our next trip. Today was our Kobe first time getting a full grooming service there. He used to go to PetSmart on rt 22 but his regular groomer left. We came across this place through our neighborhood. Thought we would give this place a try. Let me say I was a little nervous but when I picked Kobe up. Omg he was so happy and HANDSOME. WONDERFUL! I was in from out of town and they took amazing car of my pup. Clean facility, allowed my dogs own bed, food, and toy (Side note: my local pet hotel doesn't allow any outside beds, and their cooped up in a cage all day unless you pay for 10 mins of "play time" with one of the vets). So I was thrilled when I saw that he also got to socialize with other dogs and not in a cage all day. Not only did they have a great facility, they were very personable. It is obvious that they love what they do! My dog doesn't take to grooming at all, he was turned down his last two appointments at my local groomer- Because he gets too anxious. I asked them to try if they could, and they did it! He looks so handsome too! On top of that they gave me tips for my local groomer on what bothered him most. SO HELPFUL! In addition, our car broke down as we went to travel home and they made room for him to stay one more night. So amid a crazy day, I know my pup is being taken great care of! The vet diagnosed it as folliculitis and gave us antibiotics. We were willing to chalk it up to using a different shampoo or something like that, and so we continued to bring him. Well strike two came when I picked him up from two nights of boarding with a bleeding scratch on his nose. No one mention it; I found it on my dog when I got home. Had a terrible experience. I called to see availability to get my dog groomed the lady informed me to just come on by. I drive all the way there and she says you need to have an appointment. Why wasn't that said over the phone initially? She responded was a nasty remark and shoo'd us away. I was in contact with Marcello the owner before I even got a dog, lol if that's any indication to my type A personality! My husband and I were looking for our first dog together and he had his heart set on a husky. I was browsing around for day cares wanting to be prepared, as I work full time and would need my puppy to be supervised and socialized. From the first conversation, you could tell Marcello is very knowledgeable about dogs and even recommenced I look into different breeds with lower energy and lower maintenance to fit my life style.. aka not a husky haha. My husband and I settled on an english bulldog and it was the best decision ever. Our little guy is the best! Fast forward to this week, I brought Frankie in for his meet and greet at the day care to see how he'd do. Upon meeting Marcello and his wife, both of them just wanted to love on Frankie! Being that he's a puppy he didn't even really need to stay there for the 2 hour meet and greet time, but Marcello asked to keep him there just to enjoy Frankie's cuteness and get him acclimated to the environment. When I picked him up, I had nothing but great reports. Brought him home and he was super happy and wiped out. Took an extra long nap! Brought him back today for his first full day of day care and met Bettina who was the sweetest! When I picked him up, once again great reports and Frankie is happy and calm and tired out. One of their staff members Olga was also super helpful on the phone when informing me about the vaccines needed for Frankie to be able to attend day care. The staff is so incredibly accommodating. They went above and beyond. First, we were coming from out of town, and they trusted that our dog would be well behaved (we have boarded him before, but were unable to come in and do a trial run). Second, because we were dropping off our dog in the middle of a trip, they stored our valuables for us while we were gone. Third, due to an emergency that kept us trapped at Newark Airport, they stayed open late so we could still come get our baby. Finally, apparently our dog was not interested in eating while we were gone, so they hand fed him to make sure he ate. My sister to her dog there on Wednesday, he seemed fine. But was limping the next day. He was taken to the vet and had this red rash on his foot and a toenail cut way too short, that you can see the pink fleshy stuff. I do not recommend this place, especially for small fragile dogs. read more
