Or perhaps it was the 16 year old kid he was lying to in order to take his car despite him standing by the vehicle asking him not to who scared him. Maybe he is not cut out for this line of work if he is so easily spooked. If I had a job where I was allowed to be filmed, as residents are allowed to film in the common area of the parking of the complex they live in, I would go in expecting that as part of the job. In fact, I worked for a long time in a job where I was recorded the entire time and never acted like this! I suppose wouldn't go out of my way to invite someone who was filming, but about to leave, to go to the next spot I was working and ask them to film me some more, like this guy did. But also, he wasn't "just trying to do his job"; His "job" by that point, when the owner was present and asking him not to tow the car, would be to leave, not to stick around yelling expletives and misrepresent the CVC. And, if part of my job was literally to leave in a particular situation (when the owner is present and asks you to leave), call me crazy, but I would leave! Especially if I was so scared! Not stick around and antagonize and lie for no reason! And also if having "a short amount of time", as you claim, was part of his problem, why did he waste more of his own (and presumably your) time, and in such a scary situation for him, when he wasn't even supposed to stay there nor tow it? But I guess that's the part of the "job" that's so "difficult" for him.. walking away! Must be a tough existence indeed... You seem to know as much about 22658 as this dude does. Maybe you should ask Wes about it, because he seems to be the only person at your place who has any idea about one of the main laws people in your industry should know about... Also I think that it's very telling of your business that you consider using repeated obscenities as, at most, "possibly rude". We are living in a society, we are supposed to act in a civilized way! anyway, i have video of his whole time on the property, can release as much as you need to clarify the situation. I won't call you, but someone might. ---- Yesterday an employee of All About Towing was attempting to tow vehicles that complied with posted signs in the common area parking lot of the complex where I reside (and well under the 96 hours from notice required). I filmed him, and he even consented to let me film him and follow him, but then soon became verbally abusive, although even after becoming abusive, he again independently invited me to continue following and filming him (I was about to leave but he told me where he was going next and asked if I wanted to follow him). He claimed he could tow any car he wanted (regardless of if management ordered it or anything else). When I informed fellow tenants whose car he was trying to tow right in front of them that the law was that he couldn't tow the car if they were standing by the vehicle, he said "Why not? I can tow whatever the FVCK I want! You should shut the FVCK UP!" Here's the law he misrepresented to the car owners and violated (by being belligerent to them by telling them he would still tow it instead of UNCONDITIONALLY releasing it): California Vehicle Code § 22658 (2025) (B) Upon the request of the owner of the vehicle or that owner's agent, the towing company or its driver shall immediately and unconditionally release a vehicle that is not yet removed from the private property and in transit. (C) A person failing to comply with subparagraph (B) is guilty of a misdemeanor. When his superior (In professionalism if not title) arrived and told the other tenants, independently, that same law, he responded that if everyone in America acted like me (protecting the law) that the country would be a disaster. This other guy was not great, when I asked if he was the first guy's boss and what their names were (perhaps Wes for the second fella?), he would only say "why are you asking?" and when I described what the other guy had said&done he only said "I can't control what he says." and walked away. Totally stonefaced the whole time, but still better that making rude faces, swearing, yelling, and breaking the law like the first guy. So the bar is pretty low at this company in that regard, but the first employee should not be working in this business at all, at least not for impounds, repos, etc. read more

So got a call that my partner Put her car into a ditch outside Davis on a county road around 10:30PM on 10/13/2024. Ok. Get there and it's down in there more then I had the ability to handle. I called all about towing and spoke to the dispatch operator after a two min wait for a return phone call, the driver called to check on me and get some of the specifics on the vehicle. he was on scene in 10 minutes. Professional and friendly. Wanted to make sure we were ok the entire time. Just a genuine friendly guy. He winched the car out and even followed us home to make sure we made it without any trouble. As a preface, I have read many of the reviews and can determine that many of the negative reviews are from people who have had their car unwillingly towed and the positive reviews are from people who did call to have their car towed. I had my car towed from F-Street Garage a few months back due to a starter issue. I called about 5 mins after they opened and the first person I talked to was very monotone and it was not at all clear about an ETA. They did seem tired and somewhat short with me, only asking for my location and my phone number. After giving this information, there was a beat of silence before I said "Okay, bye?" After about an hour with no updates or any indication that something was happening, I called again and the new person on the phone was very upbeat and gave a clear indication about the time and the cause for a delay. Very helpful and comforting, way better than the first person. The tow came shortly after and it was a quick process. I was able to tow it to a Vickers, an auto repair shop 0.3 miles away. I did have to pay $115, which I think is pretty expensive for less than half a mile of towing, but I could not find a flat rate online and I had an option of showing a coupon for $20 off on their website that I forgot to use. So if you are REQUESTING to get your car towed, then this place is a good and safe bet. More expensive than I anticipated but desperate times really. read more

I guess bringing someone fuel isn't as costly as towing and impounding so they don't bother to help. My roadside assistance tried for 3 hours to get help and I even called to help and they just say... oh the driver is on another call. Ok well how long?? Oh it's gonna be awhile. The person on the phone only asked when we want to pick the car up. We were incredibly close by so obviously we opted out for picking it up now. When we got there, all they said was its $470... are you kidding me?? $470 for holding her car for all of 30 mins?? We didn't argue and just paid the amount due because she just wanted to go home. After we got home, it was only after we paid & gave us the invoice did we notice a $135 fee added to the total which was a fee for after hour pickup. Not once did they tell us or even MENTION a fee for picking up the night of. If we knew, we 1000% would have picked up the day after during regular hours, but they WITHHELD THAT INFORMATION. How low do you have to be to scam a few girls out of a quick $135??? Sadly they are... we went back to the store the morning after to try and reason with them about the extra charge. They brought in a KAREN these people couldnt handle it themselves that they gave that job description of handling customers to her the whole time we were there, she kept gaslighting us, saying its our fault and would not refund us for the fee. My car's battery gave up at a very inconvenient time -- when the car was part way into the street, at 10pm. My roadside assistance company sent All About Towing, and the service was excellent. They showed up in about 15 minutes, revived the battery quickly, checked the lights on the car, and advised me on how to recharge it by driving around a bit. The service man (Al) was polite, friendly, and informative. I've used (had to use) three other towing services in the Davis area in the last few years, and All About Towing was clearly the best. read more

Stereotypical impound towing thieves. They go around town late at night Thursday - Sunday and impound students cars. The students park them so they don't get DUIs - great job there. Or there's a vague sign and they will just take your vehicle. You literally profit from drunk people making good decisions and not getting behind the wheel and killing other people. They charge redic rates for maybe a $200 tow - they mark it up to 500-800$ and will literally sell your car for their own benefit. You don't own a business - you own a license to steal from students. 25 year former resident and was towed by them in 2005. Really seedy business. Just disgusting business ethics. read more

All About Towing is super responsive through phone, in any cases of emergencies 24/7! I got locked out of my car and left the keys in the driver seat and my car insurance charged way too much for roadside assistance and said wait would be an hour and a half. I found All About Towing near Downtown Davis and called their number around 11:00PM at night. I asked for a quote to see how much it would cost to help retrieve my keys inside the locked car ($95) and they said they are near downtown Davis so it would take 10 minutes to come and provide roadside assistance for me. John De La Cruz from All About Towing came over in less than 10 minutes and helped me retrieve my car keys in less than 2 minutes! It was super easy and they accept cash or credit/debit card. I was super thankful to John as he calmed me down about the locked car. John was super helpful and told me to call them whenever needed for roadside assistance. Thank you John for your help!
