It was an overcast day. Raining and cold. I was doing sales calls in the Newport area and something just wasn't right. Then I looked in the mirror. I needed a haircut. I called All American and they said come on in. I was greeted at the door by a great lady who introduced me to the barber Chris. For the next 45 minutes we swapped sports stories well he did a fantastic job on cutting my hair. I'm a little older now and the hair is a little sparse, but Chris did a great job at making me look like a million bucks, and feeling that way too. And in the end a ood price for a great haircut.. and I didn't forget a well-earned tip. read more

My husband took our son to this barber shop on the recommendation from a friend. The photo below was taken when he got home. I have 0 cosmetology skills but I honestly believe I could have done better. There are obvious lines on each side (no fade) and his bangs are uneven as well. NEVER AGAIN. Ironically, my husband had his hair done in a different chair at the same time and it looked much better than this. Still not what you'd expect from an experienced barber but not the hack job that my son got. FWIW my son has been getting regular barber haircuts since he was 1 (7 years) and sits perfectly still so I cannot think of an excuse for this other than this was someone's first cut. Sent my teenager to get a haircut at this barber shop, which usually gives a decent trim. However I was shocked when he was required to pay for this terrible haircut. Shame on the owners for employing this person that has messed up my son's hair twice now. BUT this time he was called Hitler at school. Unfair to my teenager to get a haircut that caused him undue grief in public! I do not appreciate you allowing this unskilled person to put his hands on my Childs hair. We had to take him to another salon for correction which cost me more money (worth it since he looks better). Picture day is in three days and I wasn't about to have this stupid looking haircut in a photo I had to look at in the yearbook! NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED WITH HOW YOU ARE CONDUCTING BUSINESS. Disclaimer: This happened a year ago but I didn't post until I moved away because of how uncomfortable my experience at this place made me. I walked in to get a haircut (simple military fade) and after my "barber" started and I was talking with him it became evident his only expertise was learning to cut hair by watching YouTube during Covid. I fully support people learning new skills but a barber shop should have some higher standards of professionalism - bad on me for not looking for some sort of license for this guy. Worst haircut I've had in a while and charged at full price for someone self-trained who didn't know the customer service side of the job. When he said he was finished he didn't give me a chance to check his work in the mirror. I asked for a mirror to see the back of my head and after he found one to give me I asked him to go back and make some corrections to his rough work. When he "finished" he was going to let me go without checking again. I suggested to him that he should let people check their hair before saying all was complete. The fact that I was advising this "barber" how to provide better service apparently offended another older barber at this shop because he came over to me and stood over the chair and asked if I had some sort of problem. It was an incredibly uncomfortable moment as if he was threatening me for questioning this amateur's work. I paid quickly, left and never returned. This is one of the absolute best haircuts I have gotten in Rhode Island. Better price than the other three places I went to also. Both the lady that owns the place and Chris do an excellent job. Soft touch and very precise. I asked for a low fade and just a trim off the top, that was exactly what I got. No nonsense, fantastic hair cut, great conversation and great price. This barber is great when you can get in. The management is horrible. Out of the 4 times I have tried to get a cut I have only been able to get in once due to inadequate staffing. This is the last time I will try. Head to another barber. I wouldn't waste your time coming here just to be turned away. read more

While I am not a frequent patron here, I have been to this barber shop a few times when I was in a rush and because of how close this place is to my work. The best thing about it here is that you can usually walk right in, get a good quality haircut and it is very reasonably priced. There are usually about 6 to 8 barbers cutting at one time and the ones I have dealt with have been very personable and friendly. I also think it is cool that they have personal tv's at each of the chairs as well. In my visits I have been in and out within about 20 minutes or so and they have done a great job with my fade and line up just the way I like it. If you are looking for a barber shop with quick service, good barbers and decent prices then I suggest making a stop over at All American Barber Shop. read more

The simplicity mixed with good barbers makes this shop a winner. I have frequented this shop several times over the years and have for the most part been extremely satisfied with my haircut. I am not a difficult man to please...good company, no visible lines on my head, and a solid brush off at the end is really all I require. I was disappointed with the schedule change that took place a while back seeing as I loved going in at 0630 to get a fresh cut for the day, but I understand business is business. I also used to be given warm towels and a straight razor shave on my neck line in the past but haven't received those perks in awhile. In my opinion those little things keep the customer coming back and only require minimal effort. I digress...the haircuts are great here and I would recommend this place to others! read more

I was more than pleased with my cut! I wish i had gotten the woman's name but she is skilled in fading. You can tell she takes pride in her work. My fade is seamless and that's no easy feat! I had to wait a few minutes but once it was my turn, i voiced concerns about not having enough time and she accepted my challenge and delivered! I highly recommend this spot! Went the first time, and the guy couldn't do a Marine Corps fade. Very dissapointed. Gave the place a second chance and the gal did a much better job, I was very pleased. Good atmosphere, ok pricing, and a personal tv at every chair. I found my barber for the rest of my time in RI. read more

Gone here the last few times to get a haircut, they are quick and reasonably priced.

No need for an appointment and no long wait as there are ample barbers to work through folks as they walk in. The short wait and constant stream of guys coming in proves that they are doing something right. read more

This shop is semi consistent. My son usually comes and gets fairly close to what he wants. This time around Chris didn't listen to him and actually told him what he was doing was going to be better. It wasn't and my son was left with hardly any hair after growing it out in purpose. He is really unhappy and discouraged and we won't be coming back. read more

Got a haircut here like 3 years ago and havnt gone to another barner since. The professionalism here Is slightly lacking but the place is DEFINITLY family friendly. theres also tvs here where the barber will kindly change the channel to whatever you want, except if theres a game playing. read more

I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the first time we went there a sweet and lovely man cut my son's hair and he did a great job. If my review was based on this most recent time I would have given 1 star. My 2 year-old son fussed for 2 seconds about getting into the chair because he was tired and the woman with the long brown hair walked away from us with her hands up and said "I can't do this, not if he's going to act like that". Shop is way bigger than it looks from the outside. I walked in on a Saturday and sat right down in a barber's chair. Chris did an excellent fade with a hard part. They also sell suavecito and some bay rum aftershave which I will try when I run out of my current stuff. read more

Went here after letting the wookie in me come out for two weeks. Haircut and a shave. Great haircut. Most even fade I've had in a long time. Shave was great too considering I walked in with a full beard and people don't get shaves much anymore. Would love to see a little more shave proficiency (need more people willing to allow a total stranger to hold a razor sharp weapon against their neck...volunteers?) and some higher end shaving products for a regular occurrence but no complaints from this end. Owner of this place is an asshole. I have been going there for years. After he charged me I asked about how he came up with the rate and the told me my 10 year is an adult. He was a jerk about it. Excuse me for assuming a 10 year old was still a child. The cuts have been decent and the barbers are nice. Time for me and my family to find a new barber. read more

I've been a regular for years! I usually stick to the same barber; if he/she not available owner "Chin" will connect you to a replacement that matches your needs or do it herself (she's the best in the shop!). Always clean, including the restroom. If there's a wait, the chairs (leather) are comfortable; there's a huge TV and plenty of magazines. Highly recommended! read more
