I've been going to this Supercuts for over a year now. Pretty soon, the rest of my family started going there, too. Here's why... The location (Middletown, RI) is very convenient off of Valley Rd, ample parking. The salon is always neat, the staff greets me upon entering EVERYTIME, and I'm always provided services within 5-10 mins. of my check-in time. The real star of the show is my stylist, Erin. She is a magician with scissors. I'm very fortunate to have found her since moving from AZ. She listens to my requests, answers questions and delivers an amazing cut time and again. Went on a Sunday -- in a pinch. Paid 50.00 for a 10 minute (women's) trim. Apparently if you'd like them to WET your hair before they cut it, and DRY it afterwards, that's an extra 20.00. Stylist didn't introduce herself, just pointed to her chair. Should have turned around and left then. The place is filthy dirty, no sweeping up of previous customers' hair -- so you sit there with your feet in it. Disgusting. Just disgusting. read more

i came in with splotchy bleached hair. they fixed my hair with the bleach. i then asked them if they could dye my hair still if it wasnt damaged from the bleach and tone, and they said they could. however, i asked for strawberry blonde hair with blonde highlights and showed them a photo. i was there for 5 hours and my hair is now blonde and pink which is not what i asked at all. on top of that they charged me $520 and charged me for two of the same thing (full lowlights) when i only got one thing of low lights. while their hospitality was more than welcoming, i had to pay over 500 for what i did not ask for. i want a refund, this is not what i asked for at all and especially did not want my hair to be pink. i dont even want to give one star for how inaccurate it is. read more

I honestly think if you a blatantly obtuse or incapable of telling time, then Middletown Supercuts gives you a job as host. After several years I can't take it any more. But after this last experience with disrespect from the staff I will never come to this shop again. I have never once gotten up and walked out of an establishment until now. I walked in for a haircut and within five minutes I was seated for my cut. I knew exactly what I wanted for a cut and Michelle delivered!!! I was on the fence about if I wanted to color my hair and she was so sweet and offered to cut my hair first and then see if i wanted to do color. I ended up deciding to keep my hair as is and she was totally fine with that. I liked how she gave me options to color but wasn't pushy. I was in and out within 30 mins and my hair is super adorable and just what I wanted. If you want a quick cut and you are down to business this is the spot for you. We chatted for a few minutes about thanksgiving and my holiday but If your looking to do lots of chatting with your hairstylist and want a super aesthetic vibe then I would consider looking elsewhere. read more

Hate getting my haircut. It's just one of those things that ill push off, mostly because I never know what to ask for. I finally decided I needed one at this point and when I realized that every other place on this island charges $85 for a womens haircut I found myself at my local Supercuts. I know nothing about hair so maybe $85 is appropriate. Don't know but I'd rather watch a YouTube video and try to cut my hair than spend that because after tip it's like $100 for someone to cut my DNA off and have a dry conversation with me. NOW this brings me to my experience at Supercuts... my hairdresser REBECCA was awesome. Since I didn't really understand what layers and bangs and all that stuff is, she walked me through it and was able to take what I was saying and give me the perfect haircut. Gossipy Staff/Bad Customer Service:: SuperCuts E.Main, Middletown Ri I have been using supercuts in Middletown for my families hair cuts/products for nearly 2 years. In the beginning it was nice, nice people and informative. For the past few times, one in particular hair stylist has been consistently rude to customers and especially ones that call on the phone asking questions/setting up an appointment. She is not customer-service oriented and talks about the customer to the staff, in front of the customers. The last straw for me was a week ago after receiving haircuts for my family and listening to her make rude comments about a caller just asking for their store hours, we went up to pay and I asked if they do military discount. She barked back at me and said "military discount is only for the active duty member". This surprised me as we have received it before for my children's hair cut. Being former military myself and my husband currently active, I have never heard of military discount ONLY for the active member. However, it wasn't WHAT she said but HOW she said it in such a rude manner and in front of my husband, kids and again, other customers. In addition to the second price hike Ive seen in the past two years with hair cuts, I will be taking my family/children to on base where we seem to be treated better and quality is the same at a lower cost. Thank you to all the gems in that salon and the kindness that was shown; however, I hope there will be customer-service training so in the future customer can be treated better. Customers are the bread and butter of any establishment and to treat them as if they are not is a shame. read more

This ranks up there with one of the worst coloring jobs I had in my life! Not to mention the whole ordeal. First, I could not make an appointment on their website. I would not even allow me to let them know I was coming in. Then when I got there, they were hesitant about taking me. It seems like this place has turned into an assembly line barber shop, because when I arrived there were only men in the estalishment. When they finally agreed to take me, they said that they would fit me in between the men. I told her I needed both a color and a cut, I told her that I wanted my hair blonde, but not with all of the red tones. I said that a medium blond was OK. She then showed me swatches of hair and I agreed on one. This is then where everything went terribly wrong. She went into the back room and began adding pigments. She said she did not like the color that this salon used. She applied the color with all of the pigments, which super saturated my hair. When the color was revealed it was a dark brown, almost black. She said not to worry, when I washed the hair it would look fine. She lied. Not only is it still the same sickly dark shit brown color, but when washing it, my hair fell out in several clumps. She did offer to strip my hair prior to my leaving so that it would "lighten it a bit". Thankfully I said no. If I said yes I would probably be semi-bald today...Not semi-blonde. I went to get a trim since my usual hairdresser was unavailable. I booked the appointment online and arrived on time. The person who waited on me was a middle-aged woman who made me feel unintelligent because she questioned how my name was spelled. It was very unprofessional. She told me to sit and then took me back. She washed my hair (which went fine) then asked me how much I wanted to have cut off. I told her and then she asked me when the last time I cut my hair was. I told her more than 6 months to which she stated "no wonder your hair is so thin". I have a thyroid condition and I am on different medications that will cause alopecia and hair thinning. I found this to be very unprofessional and did not how to respond. After cutting my hair, she parted it and then blow-dried it for literally 2 minutes. Then, she laughed and made a joke saying that I looked like I went through a wind tunnel (wow). I left there with wet hair and was treated like a joke. I recently needed to find a new barber, due to mine retiring. She will be missed; however, I gave this location a try. I am glad that I did, because I received not only a great cut but a relaxing shampoo and conditioner. Then a hot towel treatment?? The stylists name, who I forget right now was pleasant and personable. She laughed at my shitty jokes and if she didn't like what she did so much, I would have recruited her to join my team at AIL. I personally have for the most part received a good experience each time I come to this Supercuts location. However, I have run into a couple times where my barber was subpar in fading. Being so close to a Navy base, I feel like being able to perform a solid low fade is a MUST. The randomness of such cuts leaves this place for my friends and I a bit sour. However, the staff is incredibly kind and caring making the overall experience a good one. As long as they keep the warm towel coming, this will be my go to place. read more

Haircut took 10 minutes, loved it. Tried to pay using a "2 cuts for $30" promo card - person ran card through incorrectly, as a gift card, so my $15 cut became full price and I now have $11.05 on my card - which completely negates the purpose of the promo card. After waiting for 45 minutes for the manager to try to contact someone to help her fix the problem I took the card and walked out. I've spent 5 days trying to get someone to take responsibility and help me but to no avail. All of these shops are now franchises so there really is no one to complain to if the owner is a deadbeat. Will have to think carefully about going back. Sad, I really like the stylists. Need to find out who owns the shop in Stop & Shop. Hopefully not the same person. She jacked it up just giving me a horrible buzz cut! all my edges are messed up and I have never had such a terrible military cut.
