It was a quick in and out for my standard short hair cut. Location is clean and staff is friendly and very talkative to keep the cut entertaining to say the least. I call a few businesses and no dice, but I call this place and Peter, the business owner, answers the phone. I tell him specifically that I need a beard trim and he tells me that they are not taking appointments over the phone but to go to his website. I tell him thanks but all I need is a beard trim and do you think there might be someone available for that. He says, I would need to make an appointment for the beard trim, but Jim is available at 1:30. Book it on the website. It's at 1:30. So I plan my whole day around this 1:30 slot, which is right in the middle of the day (on my vacation of which I could be doing other things) because he told me it was available. I leave my girlfriend to wait for me and get here...and as soon as I get here, Jim comes outside and says he can't trim my beard. Just around the sides of my mask. I tell him that Peter told me specifically that I could. Apparently Peter was standing right next to Him and Jim just looks at him. Peter, says excuse me? I repeated to him that he had told me to make an appointment for a trim on the website. He says, nope...no you didn't. Some now I'm angry. This guys wastes my time...and then lies about speaking to me on the phone. I tell him that he's wasted my time and he reiterates that it's not his decision...it's the governments. Why didn't he tell me that on the phone?? Instead I waste a whole day waiting around for an appointment that would never happen. I tell him that this will end up in a review and he calls me an A$$hole and to go back to Massachusetts and trim the beard myself. What a great guy. Thanks Pete.

I called All American and they said come on in. I was greeted at the door by a great lady who introduced me to the barber Chris. For the next 45 minutes we swapped sports stories well he did a fantastic job on cutting my hair. I'm a little older now and the hair is a little sparse, but Chris did a great job at making me look like a million bucks, and feeling that way too. And in the end a ood price for a great haircut.. and I didn't forget a well-earned tip.

Our first visit we had an appointment and they ignored us for 20 minutes past our appointment time. We almost walked out when they finally called us. One of the barbers was loud and crass and was so obnoxious, we could hardly wait to get out of there. The haircut was somewhat decent however, and a good price. We decided to give them a second shot a few weeks later, and once again made an appointment with Ernest. This time, they went over 30 minutes past our appointment time before they even acknowledged us. Not only that, but he did such a poor job this time, my hubby was left with razor burns on most of his hair perimeter even days later. Location is convenient right off a main street, parking is plentiful and pricing is decent. That said, with the unprofessional lack of customer attentiveness, disregard for keeping appointments and shoddy shave work, we will definitely not be returning.

This is a place for guys to go get their hair cut....plain and simple. All guy barbers, flat screens on the walls, comfy couches, soda machine.....but also very little testosterone. I had always imagined a mens barbershop to be a bunch of overly proud men congregating to congratulate themselves on being male. The workers here are young-ish but respectful. They interact with adolescents, 20-somethings and 'older' professionals at whatever level and conversation springs up. They all take pride in what they do and want you leaving looking your absolute best. They spent just as much time on my hair 4 days before Easter as they have on a random September day. I find the cuts are much better than the quick in/out salon places. From a guys perspective the banter and surrounding conversations are MUCH more tolerable. The price is the same for me here as it was those other places and the attention to detail and what I want makes it a no brainer (seriously, do I have to argue with the stylist on how i want MY hair cut? Those other places are awful for guys).

That said, other than Bob Gevar at Transcend Salon, there is one man who understands my hair. Mike Medeiros' salon is like Cheers Bar. You are greeted at the door with a friendly hello. You will talk sports, jokes, politics, betting, golf, and anything else Mike knows about (which is pretty much anything- because the guy has been everything from a rock drummer to...) and then Mike will give you a great haircut. In and Out. End of story. Mike is like the mayor of Fall River and is one heck of a guy. His hairstyling outfit is simple and good. Give him a try, or move to L.A. The choice is yours.
