I was in Salem for business, and was lucky enough to get an appointment with Omar. I wanted a tattoo of my guitar and I emailed him a picture. When I showed up to the shop he already had an awesome design sketched out. I brought the guitar with me and he looked at it as he was doing the tattoo and got every single detail perfect. Everyone in the shop was really cool, and it was apparent that cleanliness is a top priority there. I live in phoenix, but I think next time I decide to get some work done I'll fly back to Salem to have it done by Omar. He's that good. read more

I was anxious initially because I'm young and a woman, and going anywhere by myself in a place I'm not familiar with is scary, but they were all so kind, and I even got to joke around with them a bit. I came by this place looking for some good tattoo therapy, with my hands COVERED in pen marks to depict (messily) what I wanted done. And although he didn't know it, Chris took on a lot more than my two hands of line work and symbols, and was able to pull me out of a dark place with his tattoo artistry and friendly conversation. This is a shop worth noticing. All of the artists at the shop want to give you and will give you a piece of art you will be happy to show off. I know one big thing people always ask when you tell them about a tattoo shop is: "well how much do they charge?". The answer to this question is one of the awesome things about all the artists at All American. They can kick out work in an hour that would take most artists 2-3. Now you are probably thinking that they are just fast and willing to sacrifice quality for speed. This is not the case. I get the most compliments on the pieces done at All American over my other work. They also are willing to take on custom work for you. This is a shop with skill in being able to make any vision you have a real work of body art. Beyond the amazing work All American does they also want to be your friend. I don't mean just over the internet. They are great people with real personalities that aren't afraid of big jobs and won't mock you for wanting just kanji or a star. You will often hear Omar say: "You say cliche' I say Classy". The yearly shop parties are also worthy of note. My husband and I just stopped by there on a whim. I've never had a tattoo and was looking for something small, not for public viewing, on my breast. I knew exactly what I wanted, a half moon, half sun, facing each other with faces. I did not have a photo with me. I explained what I wanted and even asked if they could go on the internet to find an example. This is a very common picture to find. The man on the left and the woman watching us from the right didn't really seem to give a damn about helping me. I was given a cost, probably a fair price, but that was it. I walked way feeling as if they were not interested at all. I've seen other 5 star reviews here. Probably people that have several tattoos and don't need the handholding. Our band was playing in Salem for two nights, and we called the shop to see if they could get us in on short notice. They were very accommodating. Both my hubby and i got tattoos by Dean, as Omar was busy all day with another piece. Dean worked with us, talked about what we wanted and what he could do, and then got to work. Dean was very respectful and realistic, and to the point, which is what both my hubby and i like. The overall attitude of the place was very accepting, and they had music playing the whole time. We are both very satisfied with what we got out of All American, and will be returning next time we are in town. I love the artwork of my tattoo and it was done fairly well, but the business itself has not so good service. The person who did my tattoo was extremely unfriendly and did not respond to questions properly. I felt extremely nervous because I didn't want someone who I didn't trust to be permanently mutilating my body. Overall, I would not come back to this business for future tattoos. read more

my boyfriend just went in to All American yesterday for his first tattoo, and he left with a beautiful piece & a big smile on his face. And all without putting a hole in his pocket! This was the first tattoo shop, and only tattoo shop we checked out yesterday, and we were instantly drawn in to the clean, brightly decorated shop. We showed Omar a picture of the piece we wanted to get, and left to the store, then 20 minutes later came back to the sketch of something gorgeous ! My boyfriend had not one single complaint about the sketch. The shop is great, Omar knows what he is doing, and the art he does will leave you speachless. I think the guy who did my tattoo was nice but to quiet which made it a little awkward and he did an okay job on my tattoo, I really liked his hand writing (My children's name's) but the little "charm's" (To represent my kid's personalities) could have been a bit better. I plan on getting them touched up. The outlines just aren't dark enough. The cost was pretty reasonable. Over all it was okay and I am happy with my tattoo. The guy who owns the shop was a bit of a jerk though, he kind of had an attitude. Maybe our personalities just clashed or something. I'm sure other people have found him great but I just think his social skills need a bit of improving if he wants customers to enjoy their experience and continue coming back and to bring others to them. read more

I was there on 2/25/15. Where I met Chris my artist, really cool guy. The work I had done was a shoulder to bicep piece on my right arm. While he was working on my arm we were just making small talk and had a great time. When he was done with my piece, my tattoo looked professional. Great job! My tattoo did turn out good, it was just a super basic outline and the price was really great. The three stars is solely for the customer service given to me by the tattoo artist, he may have been doing tattoos for however long but he was just vulgar, did not act professional in my opinion and did not answer my questions at all. I had a few pictures for the colors and fills that I wanted for my tattoo and I asked if he could appraise me a price and how long it might take to get it done and he said something along the lines of "Oh it just depends." And I was really confused because I had exactly what I wanted right there in front of us, he could have just answered the question, I don't see how it could have depended on anything I just wanted a ballpark estimation. He cracked lude, unprofessional jokes the entire time he was tattooing me, and stupid life stories about gross things that I don't care about. He gave me no information about aftercare, even though i already know the basics of tattoo aftercare it's always nice to see that the artist cares enough to tell you anyway. The outline, like I said, was good. Just basic. I ended up going to another shop to have the color filled in because my experience with this shop was too frustrating. If you can handle annoying jokes and no follow up appointment then go for it, I have a friend who went here and got tattooed by another artist in the shop and she enjoyed her experience, and my cousins were the ones who took me here to get my tattoo and they love this artist. Not particularly my taste in people, maybe it was an off day for his personality, but first impressions like that last for me so I won't be going back here. read more

I went here on my 18th birthday. I was recommended by a friend that had work here done by Omar. Well I didn't get tattoo'd by Omar. It was by a guy who called himself "Bobby Love" if i remember correctly. I knew for many years, tattoo on my 18th birthday. And He made it happen.He said he normally charges 100 dollars/hr. And it would only take him 45min to a hour to do it. I was like sweet deal. Turned out he realized it was alot more detail and alot less shading. Ended up taking around 3 hours. And about 2 hours into it I started getting worried about how long it was gonna be and how much it was gonna be. So I asked. His response " You want it finished do you not" I said "yes" He said "Then don't worry about it" So I let go of all of my worries and just enjoyed it. And when it was finished... I asked him how much I owed him. It was a freaking STEAL! He cut the price of how much he normally charges, and even told me if I needed touch ups on it in a couple weeks I could go back and he would touch it up for free..... I never needed touch ups. Its amazing. I couldn't of asked for something better :) read more
