I went in yesterday as a walk in to see about getting my nose and septum pierced, Kennie was super sweet and helped explain the jewelry options, prices and just a run down on what to expect since I had never been in the shop before. She was kind and patient throughout the entire experience and I appreciate that a lot. My piercings were done by Joe and let me tell you he had hands of an angel! I was shocked when he was done with my septum how painless and easy it was. (They are tricky) My nostril was just as seamless. He was so professional and thorough. Facial piercing can be awkward because they are in your face and he did everything to make it as comfortable for me as possible. He explained everything he was doing and why while he was going and always asked if it was ok before he had to touch me. I appreciated how he worked a lot. I got a tattoo from Vivian today and I am so glad I did! The person at the front desk, Danielle, was incredibly professional and accommodating. I was lucky enough to be able to do a walk-in this afternoon, and I absolutely love the results. Vivian did a stellar job and executed the tattoo exactly how I envisioned it! They communicated with me very clearly on the process and were professional throughout the whole tattoo. It wasn't my first tattoo, but it was the first one I got where I didn't have someone with me to help me through some of the sharper pain, and Vivian put me at ease. (They also have the coolest stress ball ever - seriously, it was super fun to squeeze haha.) The price point was affordable, and I am so, so happy with the results. It's a memorial tattoo for my childhood dog, and now he'll always be able to walk in step with me. I'm so thankful for that. I went to high priestess on my 18th birthday to get a vertical philtrum. The counterstaff was kind and knowledgeable, answering my questions about jewlery. I will say that they had a very small selection of titanium jewlery, which while unfortunate is not the worst. The prices are also a little unfortunate, my single philtrum cost me $120 which was astounding. I was pierced by Dylan who was wonderful, he was careful with his placement and walked me through the whole process, which was very calming. afterwards he gave clear aftercare instructions and during the downsize he maintained his professionalism and calming attitude. the studio itself is very cute and clean, its also quite large with books and flash sheets for you to look through while you wait. My only negative experience with high priestess was trying to get glass plugs for my stretched lobes, it seems as if every counterstaff uses a different measurement for plugs. the first person I talked to only knew the measurements in inch increments and the second only knew by gauge numbers, i personally only know the millimeter measurements. after double checking with the staff a few times that the plugs I was buying were indeed 11mm I went off only to put them in and find that they were 9mm! I went back to the studio the next day to see if I could return or exchange them and there was nothing the staff could do because of their no-returns policy. It was disappointing, but not devastating. read more

Just got my daith piercing here today! The lady was super sweet and talked me through everything she was doing. She went very fast and was efficient. They also gave me an after care spray which is great! My only thing is I wish they had bigger stud options, however I still ordered a pair of white opal studs from them because they have the awesome flat backs that don't Stab you in the back of the jaw when you lay down. I signup for an appointment for 4 piercings on the 2nd of February and was able to get in the 5th. Before the appointment there were digital consent and information forms to fill out which I found to be useful for expediting the actual appointment. Also they ask for pronouns which as a trans woman I appreciate. When I got to the studio I had to wait outside a bit for the previous appointment to wrap up which makes sense to avoid contamination and what not. The jewelry specialist was lovely and helped me pick out some cost affective jewelry that still looked nice. Danny was my piercer and Taylor the shop manager was in the back portion of the room doing inventory. It was actually a super fun dynamic between the 3 of us just shooting the shit and joking around. At one point after my lobes were pierced and we were starting on my nostrils Taylor asked to watch which I was cool with. I had my nostril done in the past where the piercer went from the outside in with a metal bar in my nose so it didn't go in to far but Danny does it inside out. I fucked up though and scrunched my face in anticipation which caused my nostrils to not line up symmetrically. Danny took the time though past my appointment time to correct it until I was satisfied. "I'd rather take the time to fix a mistake now then have you leave and never come back and be upset" is kinda what he said. Oh and everything was super clean and sanitized too! Also after I was done I mentioned feeling woozy and Taylor went and grabbed me a caprisun and let me sit in the lobby and talked with me until I was feeling better. They're a really lovely bunch there would highly recommend them! read more

I will never go here again. I called before I came and asked if they could pierce over a scar. They said they could. I went in that same day and told the man at the counter what I wanted and then had to wait seated, then I was pierced by a women. Shortly after looking in the mirror I realized it was not over my scar. I'm def not going back. It was a dermal piercing I was getting over a rejected anti brow scar. Take where you get your piercings and tattoos seriously. It's something you'll look at everyday. read more

Go to Addictions Piercing and Tattoo down on Liberty if you are going to go anywhere in horrible Salem, Oregon. The piercers at High Priestess are mediocre at best, but they are seriously overpriced. The customer service guy claims that they are competitive to pricing throughout Salem and surrounding cities but I have NEVER been charged anything close to what I was charged when I went and got my marilyn pierced here five years ago. This place sucks and Ill never go back and wont advise anyone else to ever go there. Addictions is the best place to go to in Salem by far. High Priestess is, in my opinion, the WORST. read more

staff were super cool and really nice which made me feel really good about getting my navel piercing there. i got it done the beginning of july and i've noticed my healing process isn't the best. turns out the piercer pierced me with jewelry so short to the point i have no room for swelling so my piercing is swollen and irritated. i then try calling about getting it changed to a longer bar so it heals properly(cause the piercer used the wrong jewelry, not me) and they told me they'd charge me $106 dollars just to get it changed for their mistake!! i already payed $140 for a piercing that ended up not being done properly so i was definitely disappointed. i'm not spending $246 for a piercing that was messed up in the first place,no thank you. read more

Super good vibes all around. I love how attentive they are to the well being of your piercing long term and give you a handout for after-care procedures. I went to get my daith pierced. I was just a walk in and I have a lot of piercings but I don't do super well with the actual procedure. Jay was quick, kind and cleanly! Drove in from Beaverton to take advantage of their waived piercing fee ($30) on my 18th birthday! The store was very clean and spacious with glass displays for the jewelry. We were helped out immediately and after I decided on which piercings I wanted to get done, (double helix) the girl at the front helped me pick out jewelry and answered any questions I had. I ended up choosing a gorgeous BVLA citrine earring and a more affordable smaller Neometal stud for the bottom piercing. After having my ID checked and signing the forms I went into one of the rooms where my piercer Jay had the sterilized jewelry and needles prepared. First, little guiding marks were drawn so I could see the placement. He explained the process clearly and asked if I had any questions (which at that point I didn't) before piercing. Throughout it all Jay was very calm and reassuring. It was my first time having piercings done with a needle but like he said, it was a manageable slight pinch. I absolutely love High Priestess! I'm a huge baby when it comes to piercings, but Lily (at the front desk) is always sooooo patient and so knowledgeable. I've browsed around at other shops and every single time I come back to high priestess because I don't feel comfortable going anywhere else. Hanna did my first piercing (septum) and I absolutely loved it, it healed beautifully. I went in today to get a third eye piercing dermal by Jay, HE IS AMAZING! I got my first piercing here, and it was an okay experience. Hoped for a little more considering it was a little pricey. The goods -- the place is very spacious and clean, and there wasn't much of a wait. My piercer was also very gracious and efficient. I was pretty disappointed however with how impatient and insincere the woman working front desk was with me before and after the piercing. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day, or if service is consistently like this but I likely won't be coming back to Priestess for additional piercings. read more

Local company, fantastic! Had two tattoos done here on a whim while going to Portland during a pit stop (yes I do this) and will go back for more detailed work in the future (I already look like a piercing gun/tattoo machine threw up on me - yay!). For Nikole - If ALL of your piercings/implants that you got done are that infected, it actually sounds like your body is allergic to the metals that have been used (this unfortunately is an issue that I and many other people have run into myself - and sadly, you never know what material is going to cause this to happen until the metal is exposed to, what, in essence is an open gaping wound as all implants/tattoos/piercings are considered over the crappy largest 16g piercing that mall places like Clare's do). I run into the same problem myself - as soon as the swelling in my labret went down I HAD to go titanium and a plastic ball screw to keep it from getting irritated. I HAVE to have glass, bone or wood in my ears or else they will swell up and have once caused me to use my EpiPen that I have for bee stings because the stainless nearly cause me to go into shock. EVERY artist will tell you that if it has been 6 months with strict cleaning/no salt water or chlorine while inflamed with no improvement that you MUST seek medical help - they will most likely need to be removed by a doctor because that kind of ongoing infection can be potentially hazardous to your long term health. Infections like that, 9/10 (recently spoke with my PC doc about this - I have a variety of medical issues and HE sings HP praises for the sterilization techniques that they use) - it has nothing to do with the sterility practices that the shop will use in OR - my PC says that we have some of the strictest policies in the country for dermal's in particular - he's practiced in several states and as a tat fan himself keeps up to date on the regulations regarding this matter - GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR DOCTOR OR AN URGENT CARE AND STOP SCREWING AROUND WITH THIS! From here on out, please also note that on any medical allergy list that you fill out when going to the doctor/dentist/medical anything, for your welfare, you MUST list the metal that was used in these piercings - again if you do NOT then it could seriously compromise your health! read more
