It was 105 degrees outside on September 2, 2015. We were towing a 5th wheel trailer behind us on I-40 and stopped to purchase fuel at a truck stop near the exit ramp. A good Samaritan followed us off the interstate just to inform us that the left rear wheel of our trailer was wobbling on the highway. That was very kind of him. That explained the shimmy in the steering wheel, which had just started a few miles back. So we called every RV repair place in Kingman to see if a mechanic could look at it the same afternoon. Nope. They suggested going to a tire shop. So we drove to All American Tire, which is located next to the Shell gas station and I believe it is owned by the same people. They were installing tires on another trailer or RV and asked us to pull our rig into the Shell station area. My husband believes it was the owner who removed our trailer wheel and determined it was a loose wheel bearing. The bearings looked okay, it just needed tightening. He had us back on the road within 30 minutes or less. Amazing! And it was so inexpensive that my husband gave him a huge tip. This saved us an incredible amount of possible inconvenience if we had broken down on the highway. We received good, prompt service at a great price. We did not buy tires, so I cannot rate that. The good then the bad: The mechanic saw when I was getting gas that my rear tire was worn out in an odd pattern and needed to be replaced. It turned out 2 of them were so I was glad he spotted it as i had no idea. They did work fast and got me going again within an hour. The bad: basically everyone's nightmare of getting soaked by a mechanic came true but didn't have a choice. The tires he sold me were extra expensive but said that's all they had that would fit. I was also told my shocks were worn and needed to be replaced. He checked though and didn't have those to sell me. He also said I really should get all 4 tires and not just 2 I needed so they'd match and I'd start fresh. Fair enough all sounded reasonable. When I got back to Phoenix I went to a mechanic who was dry reputable. He basically let me know that: 1. 2 tires would have been fine 2. The tires he put on it are super heavy duty and cost way more than normal tires which he most likely had 3. I didn't need shocks whatsoever. We needed to find a fairly rare tire at Big O (which didn't have it in stock and had to order it -- awesome company by the way, more on this in another review) and we started calling around town asking if they had the tire in stock. "Yup! Come on down! We have that tire, meet me at the Mobile station". Odd, I thought. We met the person at the mobile station and followed him to the shop. My car was immediately put on the lift, two other people walked out and started removing ALL of my tires. Remember, I was only looking to have a single tire replaced. I asked, "Why are you pulling off all the tires? "Uhh" (mumble). "We're going rotate them, aren't we?" "You can't rotate these, they're directional and the fronts are smaller than the rears, I'm having one REPLACED!" Second hint that something is wrong. So it turns out that the tire they said they had, they don't and they'll have to get them from "their" warehouse and to go relax, have dinner and relax. Well, all four tires are now off my car, it's approaching 5pm and I'm starting to suspect something isn't completely right. The tire doesn't arrive and two other workers are trying to remove my tire from the wheel... Unsuccessfully. So I ask what the tire costs and they would not give me an answer. AT ALL. I'm starting think theidea was to get my car full immobile, then overnight, then I return the next morning to a large variety of charges and a car that's more or less "held hostage" until I pay them exhorbitant amounts of money. I ask yet another person, "Do you have the non 'run flat' variety? We can get it installed and I can continue to Phoenix". "Nope! Well yes" and returns with another tire, not the correct size. I ask, again, "What does the tire cost?" Taps on the calculator, underbreath mumbles and no answer. At this poit, I'm starting to realize it's a "jack joint" so I tell them to put all of my tires back on the car and my wife calls AAA to arrange for a tow to Big O tires. Now the original person comes back with the "My boss is mad, he left at 3pm but he's wondering why I ain't sold no tires. Here's a tire that'll fit, I'll make you a smoking deal and you can get on your way". I explained to him, calmly, that I've been lied to and mislead a number of times and I don't trust them to do work on my automobile. "Well there'll be a $20 rack fee!" "Perfect!" So we waited until the towing company arrived, meanwhile they were trying to wheel and deal and get the car back into the garage. Avoid this place. They prey on the foolish, the weary travelers and since the bathrooms are MISERABLE, it's not even worth the stop to piss. Not even for free. Total time for all of this nonsense? FOUR HOURS. They lied about having the tire. They immediately immobilized my car. They had zero expertise with removing a tire from the wheel. AVOID this place if possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. If AAA takes you here try to get a tow somewhere else or settle in for the night. They tried to sell me tires that do not fit my car for $600. Then they found 2 used tires that still did not fit and said it would be $260 if in cash JUST for the tires, $340 if I used a card. The main guy kept insulting me and my intelligence. Female driving alone does not equal stupid. I guess they figured that out because no one would do anything to help fix my tire they just avoided me, left for hours at a time (without telling customers where they were going, why, when they would be back, and no one else is authorized to help you but the person designated for your car), went into the back and got high, and said that I couldn't get a single tire in the entire city. Lots more of the run around and bad customer service. Eventually I went next door and they said they would sell me a single tire in the right size for a decent price. All American Tire wouldn't let them take the tire off their property. 20 minutes later when I kept complaining they said the other shop could have it and I got fixed and back on the road within 15 minutes. Total time waiting while no one did anything at All American Tire = 3 hours. I just hope the other couple there got theirs fixed. Apparently, it is a business practice of all All American Tire outlets. I had the same experience in Wells, NV. Getting gas, mechanic says my tires are about to blow and since I was about to enter the desert with no service for about 150 miles, I felt compelled to buy tires. Fortunately he didn't have the tires for to replace my back ones. When I was able to get internet service I checked on the cost of the tires he sold me for $340/ea and they sell for an average of $130. When I got to my destination I went to a local Big O tire and was told that my tires were fine and he explained what to look for so I would know when they actually needed to be replaced. Had a shredded tire heading back to Phx from Vegas about 40 miles north of Kingman and pulled into All-American using a donut. $510 later for 2 tired that could have purchased from discount tire for less than $250, not a happy customer. Lied to about the price then when queried the cost was verbally abused and threatened with being hit, will not post the racist comments made - am white and hopefully still middle class:-) When I asked to see their price list was given a barrage of verbal abuse Had to pay as no other option as the car was up on jacks when given the bill Avoid - go elsewhere My travel companion worked for Shell and has made a complaint DO NOT USE, take the risk and go a few miles further on to a reputable place They advertise "Best Prices in Town" - just which town they do not say:-) I have made a complaint to the AZ AG. read more

This company is attached to the Shell Gas Station but I don't know if they are the same company. Stopped for gas, a man walked across the parking lot past the car without even slowing down and said, "you have a problem with that right passenger tire," and kept on walking. Of course we ask him what he is talking about. He said, your tread is worn down and it's going to pop soon. It was a rental and he started asking for all the relevant info so he could call the company. Meanwhile I go back out and look at the tire, feel the tire, and see nothing wrong. Back in his garage I ask him what exactly did he see that made him decide the tire is bad. His comment was that the inside of the tire (which you can hardly see if you were to lay on the ground in front of the car) was dark which meant that the outer layer of tire is gone, you are down to the inner layer and at ANY moment the steel will come through and you will have a blowout. I asked him if he meant that if we were to go out and look under the car, at the tire, that we would see threads, he said no. But that he had been doing this for 20+ years and he wouldn't try to scam me. He then said the tread was down to below some tire measurement number (couldn't hear the #). This man was able to tell all of these things by strolling past the car? He did not measure the tread, he did not look under the car. He did not jack the car up. He just saw it on his way by. We drove to the local branch of the rental company who said that this happens ALL THE TIME. Goal is to get you to replace the tire, implying the rental company will reimburse you. Which they won't. They said the tire was fine but offered to switch the car out for us if would be more comfortable. We kept the car. Google a few things about Kingman and tires if you feel you are actually in need of tire service. I believe I would limp along to the next town. On my way to Las Vegas in June of 2013, I fueled up at the adjacent service station. As I was getting ready to pull away, one of the mechanics lounging on the bench outside informed me that one of my tires appeared to be low on air. He helpfully offered to top it up for me. I watched him put in about 5 seconds of air, which he said should fix it. He then pointed out a very very shallow, short scratch on the tire's sidewall. After finding out I was headed to Vegas, he suggested I get two new tires (to keep them properly balanced) because the tire would blow out before I made it there. His words were that it "will peel like a banana", leaving me to make "an expensive call to AAA somewhere down the 93". I could plainly see that there was nothing wrong with the tire, and told him I'd take my chances, then continued on my trip. We just wanted our spare put on to replace our flat, it was 8pm. We really did need new tires, so when the employee said he had 4 barely used tires for $350 cash out the door, we thought it was a great deal! The employee said he had gotten the tires for free the day before from somone who bought new tires. Sounded like a win-win for both parties. I explained to the employee that we could only get $300 cash from our bank per day, but I could pay the balance with a credit card, but he said their credit card machine was "broken". So, we gave his co-worker the $350 cash (my husband and I used our 2 cards), but when we were ready to leave, the employee said it was $350 PER TIRE!!! And, would we like to put the balance on our credit card? (I thought the credit card machine was broken!) He went on and on as to how these were expensive tires. We told them to take off all 4 tires, and that we'd be calling AAA to put on the spare. They put blocks under the tires as if they were going to take the tires off. We also told them we were calling the police. All of a sudden the employee said he'd take a total of $400 for all 4 tires. We filed a police report anyway, kept the 4 tires for $400 and went on our way. SUPER SLEAZY!!!!!! read more
