I am SOOO grateful to have found a local place that can take care of anything, literally, on my horse trailer. I have had a mysterious electrical issue that two (2) popular places in Shasta County couldn't diagnose. Fine. Happens. A few years pass, my kids quit rodeoing, so trips are just me and my horses. I never used the generator, A/C, fridge, etc. Didn't need it for day trips. However, now I live in Norco, but I have 8-days in Bakersfield (ugh) coming up for academic training and will be taking my horses and LQ to "live in". I spoke with Jason, Bret, Jeff (THANK you for the GREAT INFO on trailer care) and Cheyenne, who called every other day letting me know how things were progressing. Not only was I advised on ways to save money, I was NEVER pressured, everything on my list was checked off and fixed, A/C, even the electrical "mystery" was no challenge for these guys. And the kicker? It was less money than quoted due to changing my generator plans, and it was DONE and READY for me 5-days earlier than our target date. I brought my trailer in for annual maintenance and an acid wash. The trailer didn't need much work, but they did check it over for a reasonable price and they arranged the acid wash. The acid wash was expensive but the trailer looks brand new. Also, I dropped it off on a Saturday morning and they called me the following Tuesday to discuss when I needed to have it back. They completed the work according to the schedule we agreed on. I appreciate that there is a place nearby that does this kind of work, this expertise is not easy to find. read more

Drove one hour one-way to have trailer maintenance conducted, but not all of the requested services were performed, and trailer wasn't ready when promised. (I had made my appointment weeks in advance.) One of my main concerns was a long term and ongoing electrical issue. Without conducting any tests, I was told, "I guarantee replacing the wiring adaptor will solve all your problems." At pick up, the wiring adaptor had not been replaced and nothing had been done to address the electrical issue. Another big project I requested was cleaning the interior floor of the horse compartment (removing all mats). I was told the entire interior would be cleaned from ceiling to floor. That was not done. (IMO a true inspection of the flooring should be done from inside and out!) The cost for the annual service, replacing and repacking bearings seems exorbitant. What a waste of diesel - next time I will go elsewhere. read more

If you want to deal with people who lie and cheat, this is the trailer dealer for you! If you want to buy a trailer out right and take a year and a half to get a pink then you found your man! If you want to sell a trailer and never get your money when he lets the trailer leave the lot and the money in his pocket, you hit the bulls eye! If you love dealing with the DMV and need to file a complaint and get a investigator assigned to you to be able to get your pink slip, then wall la! Congrats! Extremely disappointed in my experience with this company. I spoke with the owner as well as another salesman regarding the condition of a used trailer I was interested in purchasing. I was specific in asking about dents, scratches and other damage. They were very nice and "thoroughly" assessed the trailer and assured me that the trailer was in excellent used condition and any scratches could be buffed out. I drove over 10 hours & 700miles to purchase the trailer only to find that the trailer was in VERY poor condition with major dents, scratches & duct taped divider padding among other issues. JT and the guys spent so much time making sure I was comfortable with my (new to me) first Gooseneck! I had never hooked one up or driven anything larger than my old 3H BP and they wouldn't send me on my way until everything was dialed in. JT took me around norco making sure I could drive it properly and reassured my mother that my horses and I could make it to Virginia with this trailer. They also gave me zero grief when my old trailer ended up selling to a buyer from craigslist. As for my Elite trailer, whats not to love? Id buy it 1000xs over. This place has been incredible. Jason went above and beyond the call of duty to sell us a good, reliable trailer that was in our price range and had all of the requirements we needed. There is no "hard sell" here. The guys are all honest and easy to deal with. The original trailer we were going to buy off the used lot ended up having two bent axels (Jason was worried about the tire wear so he sent it in to get lasered) and his gut feeling was right... Thus he wasn't willing to sell it unless the owner had them repaired - which she refused to do. So we looked at other options with him and ended up with an even better rig. They also installed a gooseneck hitch on my truck - Shane was extremely busy, and ended up bringing in a guy on his day off to do the job so that he could insure the work was done quickly. They went out of their way to do a great job. Sales or service - I highly recommend both here. I'm so glad we went with a local dealer instead of buying off Craigslist, etc. read more

Stay away from this place! They are all too happy to sell you a nice new trailer with the offer to sell your trailer. . .HA! They park it in the back of the lot and pile up more trailers around it. My old trailer was with them for six weeks and no buyer - I picked it up and sold it myself in a week. The maintenance and repair crew are completely incompetent. I made the mistake of purchasing a living quarters goose neck three horse trailer from American Trailer Sales in Norco, on April 6, 2017. The trailer was consigned, and it caught our attention because of the raised roof over the sleeping area. The trailer had been in their inventory for about 6 months before we came across it listed in Craig's List. The consignor said they listed it because of lack of sales activity on the part of American Trailer Sales. The trailer needed some repairs, like a new roof and other items. American Trailer Sales kept the trailer for about 2 months doing repairs, saying that personnel were on annual vacations and etc. One of the items that they started, was an antiseptic cleaning of the fresh water tank, something they recommended every 6 months. They left whatever chemical they used in the freshwater tank, telling us to fill it and drain it twice more, before taking it on a trip. Our first outing was scheduled for 8-25-2017. Wife tried to drain the fresh water tank and found that the drainage pipe was clogged with silicone, American Trailer had used to seal against leaks. A conversation with Jason Tucker, owner of American Trailer Sales told me that his technician, J. T. would be out to our campsite to make the repair the very next day. In addition, he would bring our temporary permit with him to put in the window of the trailer. J. T. Was a no show. When I called J.T. he stated that he was not going to show up, and he would repair it at his facility, and he did not care what his owner told me. We made it through the weekend sharing water with our fellow campers. I checked with Ca DMV, and there is NO RECORD of this transaction in their files of any kind. So, to summarize, if you want to go through the trauma of dealing with DMV, to get title to a trailer that one paid cash for, as well as proper registration and license plates, American Trailer is your go to company. If you want to put up with after sales repairs of damage caused by American Trailer Sales, this is your go to company. At this point, I am filling out the DMV complaint form to get our title, and license plates. It is my sincere wish that this complaint will generate an audit of this company, the likes of which Jason has never seen in his professional life. read more

There were no sales associates. Did I mention it was a Satuday at 1pm? The repair guy told me to ask the other repairman. He had no idea what trailers were on the website. He called someone...One of the sales associates just didn't show up and the other was at a roping event. Nice! He did show me a trailer that had just come in, but he didn't know the price. I left my name, number and exactly what I was interested in. Sunday no call...I left them a voice mail. Monday no call, I emailed 3 sales associates at 4:30pm! Tuesday around 11am I get a call finally. He didn't read any of my notes! Asking me what I was looking for? Heard you needed a call back? Seriously?! this is the most unprofessional place i have ever stepped foot in . I went there in the intentions of buying a horse trailer there that I've been having my eye on for some time now. I went there waited for a salesman to come out and sale me the trailer that I wanted . The salesman sent out one of their workers ( not even a salesman ) to inform me that the sales guy would be in a phone call meeting and when I asked how long it would be all that he had to say was " I don't know how long he would be " that is ridiculous! And he said it with a smirk on his face not even apologetic. You would think them having a huge sales lot they would have more salesman. I guess there weren't that interested in making sales today. I'll take my business somewhere else where they would be happy to take my CASH. if you are a person of color I suggest you think twice before stepping foot in this place. Ordered a trailer at the horse expo the first weekend in February. Deposit cleared two days later. Was told 6 to 8 weeks with a possible 12 week turn around due to volume of trailers being ordered at the expo. We never got an update phone call. so we started calling. At the 8 week mark we were told the manufacturer was running behind. At the 12 week mark we were told the trailer was in but they were sorting thru paperwork and they would call us in a couple days. After a week we called. They told us there had been a mistake and our trailer wasn't there and still needed to be built. We said fine but please call us and keep us appraised of the progress. No calls. We called again after 6 weeks and was told the trailer was in production. At the 6 month mark we called the actual manufacturer and was told that the paperwork was never signed off by the dealer and the trailer was never in production. They also informed us that it never takes more than a 12 week turn a round on a standard build, which ours was considered! We went to the dealership and we get Mike, one of the rudest people I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with, and he tells us that we are among 47 other people who have been waiting 6 months for a trailer to be built! He proceeds to tell us that he is " nothing but a dumb salesman" and " don't know nothing" and that we "have to talk to Jason" and that he "doesn't know when he will be in"! He refused to get out of his chair and great myself and daughter, but immediately got up to shake my husband's hand the minute he came thru the door several minutes later. Several days later, we finally spoke to Jason about getting the deposit back. Another 24 hours later, we got the deposit back without any apology or explanation, or offer of compensation for wasting 6 months of our time and lying to us. By far one of the worst experiences we have ever had trying to purchase something!!! read more
