We made a reservation for a round trip ten days before we left on a three week vacation. The ride to OAK was ok and on time. However, when we arrived in OAK on our return, we checked in and waited. Our reservation was to take us to San Jose an hour away. No car was assigned after 30 minutes. I called dispatch and was told there were no cars available and he ( very nice dispatcher) told us he could not find a car in the area but he would keep trying and it might take a long time. He offered to cancel the reservation. We called Lyft and got a ride for half the price. The SS reservation was cancelled. I was a long time customer of SS. NO LONGER. read more

To be fair I've used Super shuttle at least a dozen times with differing levels of service mostly okay to average. My last one really really sucked. Driver was waiting for us at the building next to us and made us walk and it didn't appear as if he felt like loading our luggage. On the freeway he kept cutting off drivers at the last second. When we got to the airport he dropped us off at the domestic terminal and told us to walk to the international terminal (Hawaiian) which was close by. A quarter-mile later I was pissed as I knew he could have come back around and drop us off at the right location. I'll be sure to tip AFTER the service if I ever choose them again. This guy should never have gotten past the screening process. I know I know i'm being generous with the 2 But hey it's Christmas you know? Do you really read these reviews SuperShuttle?! Why didn't I take Uber. Prearranged 2 weeks prior for an executive SUV to take my Family to SJC from San Francisco. They decided to send a car. Late. At that point we felt compelled to take it. Of course the luggage didn't fit so the driver put it in the trunk and left the trunk open...all the way to San Jose. He said that's how they did it in Africa. He apologized and said they were supposed to have called us. They didn't. We sat on the rest of the luggage. Of course I was charged full price for an SUV. They promised to refund me...but changed their minds later. Well the next time I'm in Africa, at least I'll know what to do if my bags don't fit. And now I also know what to do in the USA...Take Uber. read more

I'm very tempted to give a score of 1, except for 2 redeeming factors: 1) the price - it's very cheap, even in the Bay area; 2) they were courteous and helpful when I needed to cancel my return service on the same day of my travel, and promptly credited my account. The reason for my low rating is below. in chronological order, on the day of my trip. My scheduled pickup time was 4:15 am, as printed on my confirmation. 3:48am: I receive an automated call telling me that the driver is in my area and will arrive in 10 minutes. I'm not ready to be picked up yet but I don't want to miss the ride, so I rush to get ready and go down to the curb (yes, a woman, alone in the dark... etc.) 4:10: the shuttle hasn't arrived, and since I don't like standing on the street corner, and worried that I missed the ride, I called customer service. I was told that the next ride would be there at 4:25. ?? I was confused because this is even later than the original scheduled pickup. 4:15: I call them again to get clarification and hopefully get an earlier ride. After I get through to the dispatcher, Ted, he tells me that I should not expect a ride until 4:40 (what? ). When I insist that there's a mixup because my original pickup was at 4:15, he hangs up on me. I am finally picked up at 4:45. I tell the driver what happened and he tells me they just called him moments ago.... not his problem... yes very accommodating I love standing on street corners in the dark... thanks for nothing super shuttle. I wanted to post a good review because my prepaid ride was right on time for a 3am pick up from San Jose to SFO. The ride back was another story. First I was told 14 minutes, 2 minutes later they gave me a new vehicle with no driver assigned, so I asked the rep standing by and he said somebody would contact me or I could call. After 10 more minutes, I submitted a customer support issue online. At this point, I was wondering if I could cancel and use Uber but I had already paid. I finally called and said that I had been waiting for 40 minutes with my wife after a 20 hour trip from Rio. The rep said that she apologized because the driver rejected my ride but I never got assigned another driver, so she assigned one. My new driver was there 10 minutes later. My driver lost his mind the way he sped over several speed bumps and completely ran past 2 stops signs as if they didn't exist. We almost hit a car. After we exited the vehicle, he asked for a tip and I told him that we feared for our lives the way he drove and I wasn't tipping. At 2am in morning, he proceeded to shout profanity and slammed his door. I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was and filed a complaint. This is completely unacceptable. I'm waiting to hear back from management. To add insult to injury, I received an additional unauthorized charge on my card. This Updating my review because the customer service rep provided excellent customer service by refunding a portion of my ride because of the type of service I received. That's how you take care of a customer. Now, I will consider using them again. Hopefully, the driver received some disciplinary action. read more

Super shuttle used to be a cheap and easy option to get to and from the airport. Now it seems they are cramming their cans with more and more people and have drivers who get lost. Just a few years back i would get out of the airport get in the shuttle and be off in a few minutes. Just sat in damn shuttle for 20 minutes , the guy finally started up and now he's going back to the airport to get someone else. Never again super shitty. UPDATE Apparently piss poor wasn't poor enough for these people. After circling back to the airport and having another guy get in the van, the driver started talking to this woman who was trying to get a shuttle although it was unclear whose shuttle she was supposed to take for another eternity. After about 35 minutes of sitting at the airport while this incompetent driver tries to corral every purported shuttle passenger at the airport, I decided to take a cab. Will update this again after calling them tomorrow to demand my money back. UPDATE called the day after this incident to demand a refund. was given a case number and was told that i would be receiving an email in a few days regarding the results. a week later, still nothing. so, of course, i had to call them again and waste about 30 minutes on the phone (mostly on hold) to check in with them. they did agree to give me my money back, but that is about the only almost decent thing that can be said about super shuttle. oh, and here's something interesting in case you were still thinking about using super shuttle. the customer service rep told me the driver didn't pick up the last passenger until an hour and 15 minutes after he checked me into the van! glad i bailed and took the cab. read more

I too wish I could rate as a big fat zero. Driver took wrong highway on the way to the airport and I was a bit nervous. Return trip is another horror story! The dispatcher admitted none if his drivers were answering the phone. I was left waiting in the rain in an unsecured area with the van supposedly arriving in FORTY MINUTES! I am writing this from the moving vehicle. Our driver is awful. He is making us extremely nauseated by his driving, does not stop on time for stop signs, turns going quickly and has made my head bump into the seat in front of us. In addition, he told someone they were headed home first and then took someone else. He has no communication and in addition is driving bad enough to get pulled over. This is completely rediculous. There has been no traffic, and it has taken us over an hour just to get from SFO to Stanford, which should just take 25 minutes. He barely speaks English, so it it impossible to communicate and does not know how to use his GPS. I would like to speak with someone ASAP about this because I am not feeling safe in the vehicle, nor is this what I paid for. Thank you. read more

Beware!! ..... super shuttle cancelled my reservation 1 1/4 hour before my scheduled pickup time going to the airport because they did not have a van available. They just sent a text. They did not find and provide a backup, and just gave a refund and said 'sorry about that'. If you use SS have a back-up plan ready to get you to the airport if this happens to you. From San Jose SJC, it took 2 1/2 hours to get home, that is with paid in advance reservations. They are great for picking up and taking to the airport, but return trip is horrible. We had bus 282 on Friday the day after Thanksgiving, slow airport traffic, no one on the freeways, but still took 2 1/2 hours from SJC to Mountain View, at most a 15 minute ride. Never use SUPER SHUTTLE. If I could give them a 0 instead of a one star on Yelp, I would have, because that's exactly what I got - a 0 shuttle. I'd say it is the worst service so far I had in the US. I booked my super shuttle to Oakland Airport on October 18th 2013. They called me around the time of a pickup saying that the driver will be 30 minutes late, but I should not worry, because I would be the only passenger. It's pretty ironic, because an hour after that phone call there was still no driver. I called them back and after being put on hold for another 20 minutes, I was told that they don't have any vans because of the BART strike ???? and nobody is coming. They never bothered to let me know that I need to look for other ways of transportation. I nearly missed my flight because of them and had to grab a taxi at the last minute. People, beware - it is indeed like playing a russian roulette - they may show up if you are lucky, but don't count on it!!!!! read more

Worst customer service ever. My scheduled pickup was at 6:25am and I got message of driver etc on SMS. I waited till 6:35am and the vehicle is 40 min distance away from me and not moving. The only option we have is request driver a call back. I did that many time but never received a response. I wait till 6:40am and called customer service, it tool 10 mins to connect and they casually informed that vehicle is having a breakdown and they assigned a taxi for me. I asked for contact details or vehicle number or something, atleast an ETA, then they transferred to dispatch and it took another 10 min to connect. The dispatch person told me that it will come in 4 min and he will send details on SMS. I never received any SMS and neither the taxi arrived. I waited till 7:10am and called them again. Again after 10 min plus 10 min its the same issue. No details of taxi, it didnt arrive and I'm waiting in the cold outside my building from one hour. The guy requested me to wait and said the driver is calling me and to check my voice mail. I didnt get any call or voice mail. I called again and finally frustrated that I'm gonna miss my 8:50 flight since the time is already 7:30. Then I booked uber and reached airport 5 min late. Fortunately the flight is delayed by half an hour due to bad weather and I got saved. Firstly, they wont update u if there is a problem. U need to call them. Then it will take ages to connect and they transfer the calls and frustrate you. Then they assign taxi which will never arrive and u have a pretty good chance of missing your flight for trusting these people. Last but not the least, I called them and told I took uber from the cab and asked them to refund my money and also the uber fare. They asked me to submit the request online (they why the hell did I wait for 15 min to talk to them and inform them immediately?) I did submit immediately. Its been 5 days and I did not receive any update on my complaint. Just now I called and its been 28 min, the lady kept me on hold and no response. I felt like a fool to wait. With lots of frustration I want to warn you not to go through what I'm going through now. Thank god, I didnt miss my flight due to bad weather. Imagine missing the flight too!!!! Well it looks like others have already discovered Super Shuttle was circling the drain. Wish we had checked Yelp before going back to the formerly great service. How times have changed! We were picked up in Oakland 3/4 of an hour late to get to the Oakland airport, yet just one couple was in the van, and no one else picked up after us. Coming home for our prepaid reserved pickup, we called and were told the van would be at the airport in 20 minutes. 40 minutes and 3 vans later ("you're not on my list") we sat in our van for another 20 minutes, waiting for someone who was waiting for luggage. An hour after we arrived (from our one hour flight) we left the airport. Oh, and BTW, someone unreserved and going to Berkeley, where others in the van were headed, was turned away from an empty seat, to chase after an airport van coordinator. That was just stupid. So much for stuper shuttle. We'll walk. read more

We used the service in San Francisco from the airport to city. We were the first party in the van. After about thirty minutes we had the fifth and final party loaded in the van. The drive to the city was not too long, but once we got off the interstate it was a whole different story. We had to drive downtown to drop off each party at their hotels in traffic and stopping at a red light on every block. At this point we were in the van for well over an hour. After we dropped off the first party, the driver told us we would be last. At the next stop I lost my cool and yelled at the guy and told him we were done. After we got out I used my Uber app and got to our hotel in ten minutes. The service at super shuttle is terrible. The driver's lack basic communication skills and drive like shit while they try to set up their directions on the tablets they use. If i had read the reviews prior to my vacation, I would have turned away. Do your self a favor and use Lyft or Uber. read more

My rating is a one because it's the lowest rating available. One star is far to generous. If you are considering doing business with Super Shuttle, please read the reviews about this company's history of unacceptable customer service first. After reading the reviews, (after the fact) my experience mirrors all the other reviews exactly. Like a lot of others mentioned in their reviews, we made round-trip reservations with Super Shuttle online several weeks prior to our trip and prepaid. (They promptly take your money.) Trip 1.). Shuttle arrived on time, driver was professional and efficient. The trip met our expectations. Trip 2) Rerun reservations scheduled from Oakland Airport to San Jose 7/28/18 12:15am pickup. The returning trip was the complete opposite of trip one. When the shuttle did not show up on time, we called the customer service number 800-851-4528, we got an automated message that we were calling after business hours. The automated message did not mention the after business hours support number. We found this number,800-258-3826, in our confirmation e-mail. The customer service representative that answered sounded like she was trying to wake up. After explaining the situation and providing my confirmation number, I was not asked to "please hold while being transferred". I was just transferred suddenly without even being told they were going to transferring me to another area. I was transferred to a dispatch number that left us on hold. I called the customer service number back got another person who was worse than the first. She repeated what the first person did. They both disappeared never to be heard from again. After waiting on hold and trying to get them back on the phone several times, we gave up and rented a car since it was well after 1:00 am. in the morning. The Super Shuttle was a NO SHOW. Their "No Show" policy, as stated in their disclosure to their customers, states they will charge the full amount of the reservation for no shows. If that is their policy for their customers, how are they held accountable for no shows on their part? It seems they owe many customers an explanation and better yet a documented plan for immediate remediation to correct a major gap in their business model. I've since sent them an email and left two detailed voicemails outlining the situation and requesting a call back from a manger as well as a refund. No response so far. I have been home for two days. Where is the customer service? Their " Customer Service " department is labeled incorrectly. They do not even begin to understand the meaning of "Customer Service " There was no offer to help (translation- give customer service) Offer a solution (translation- customer support) Lastly, stay with the customer until they have safe transportation as promised in their business model to the public, not to mention a service already paid for. In case you missed it - translation- "Customer Service " After having read through the numerous customer reviews I see a trend that seems to be going uncorrected. I am led to believe this company's senior leadership is well aware of this practice and knowingly supports their no show behavior. They readily take money from the public without rendering the promised service they are paid for well in advance. The customers are showing up, Super Shuttle is the "No Show". The only thing they transport efficiently is your money. Complaints disappear in a sea of unanswered phone calls and e-mails. Clearly they are not interested in customers, their safety, or the reputation of their own company. A direct reflection of their leadership team. We were inconvenienced, left stranded at the airport in the early morning hours that make transportation very difficult and unsafe. More importantly their blatant lack of response to my calls and e-mails reporting on a problem they cause on a routine basis (based on reviews I read) is probably the most frustrating experience out of everything that's happened. I contacted my credit card company and initiated a dispute for services not rendered. Super Shuttle should have contacted me offering an explanation, apology and refund. The shuttle came 25 minutes before my pick up time at 6:01 am instead of from 6:25am, sent 2 text messages which i didn't see in that early time, never knocked in the door of my house inspite of sitting in the van for some time in front of the house, and left me dry before my pick up time. I'e spent $150 on the parking my car in the airport for 10 days. Opened the case for reimbursment, never got the call or message back from them after more than 2 weeks, call them back and got the decline of reimburment because they claimed that the driver was waiting for me until my pick up time, which is pure lie. It looks like their customer service is set to care more about $34 than the customer relationship and good name. I'll use whatever I find next time, but not them. My husband and I always take advantage of SUPER SHUTTLE'S services when we do not wish to inconvenience friends to provide transportation to and from the airport. The driver for our non-stop ride home from San Francisco Airport (Aug. 16) was at the airport on time (UAL Flight 1288), and we returned home safely about 11:00 p.m. The next morning I realized my travel packet (containing personal documents as well as cash) was missing. Believing I had misplaced it because of the late hour of our return, I searched for 2 days before deciding to inquire with Super Shuttle if the packet had been found. I received a prompt reply that the item would be searched, and if found, returned to me. After I received no response for a few days, I resigned myself to the fact that the item was lost. Imagine my surprise today (Aug. 24) exactly 8 days after our return, to answer our doorbell, and find a delivery from FedEx containing my travel packet! We engaged Super Shuttle to pick us up at SFO after an overseas trip. Pickup time was about midnight. Super Shuttle confirmed and plans were considered set and secure. No Super Shuttle! They had written down the wrong date, and this was a PAID reservation for 8 passengers that had been booked three weeks in advance! Around about 1:00am, very tired from a long flight and eager to get home, Super Shuttle was finally reached (no answer, line busy, etc.) and they sent someone out to pick us up. The driver was polite enough, but was a smoker - the shuttle stank. And, the driver seemed to think that 55 mph. was the new speed limit, along with some confusion over the brake and accelerator. read more

My daughter made a reservation and pre paid for supper shuttle to pick up and take to airport. When her designated time came and went, she called, and was told that they had overbooked and did not have a driver to pick her up!.. She was left high and dry and almost missed her flight. Super shuttle gave not a reasonable excuse..just that they overbooked. This is unconcscionable how they treated her. No call, no warning.. they simpley didn't show up and used the excuse that they overbooked!.. Absolutely awful experience. Purchased shared ride from San Jose airport. Paid in advance including tip. Plane arrived 35 minutes early. Called super shuttle and asked to be picked up. Lady said driver will be there in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later nobody was there. I called again. The guy hung up on me when I asked about why it is taking so long to be picked up. Waited another 10 minutes and called again. Finally an hour later shuttle showed up. We sat another 30 minutes waiting for a third passenger. Finally an hour and half since I landed we left he airport. My destination was 6 miles away from the airport I got there an hour and 55 minutes later. I COULD HAVE WALKED FASTER! Never again would I use super shuttle! How do they stay in business? The worst part is I paid $25 for 6 miles ride that took 1 and 55 minutes. Their business practice is highly deceptive. I was quoted $48 (online) for three passengers. I decided not to book it so that I could shop around. SuperShuttle sent me an email saying that I could get a 5% discount if I came back and booked. However, there was no discount code in the email, and the link that was in the email took me right back to the beginning of the reservation process with no 5% discount. I emailed Customer Service, and Melissa W., Customer Care Case Manager, said that, to her knowledge, she didn't know of any discounts that SuperShuttle emails out. She suggested that I email her the message that I received which I did. Of course, she gave me the run-around and blah blah blah...saying that to receive a discount I needed to book online (which I did) and that there could be many different reasons why the link didn't give the discount. Wow! Thanks for the meaningless email and slap in the face. The kicker is that I found a 10% discount code through Retail Me Not. I thought that would be a great savings on $48 which is what I was initially quoted without a discount code. However, after plugging in the 10% discount code (because the SuperShuttle website requires the code BEFORE quoting you the fare), it charged me $51 before the discount. I realized this after I had finalized and paid for my reservation. SNEAKY and DISHONEST. They jack up the rate if you have a discount code. Never again. read more

What a bait and switch experience. I reserved online for 10:15pm At 10:15 I was at curb. Auto voice response said van was 1 mile away. 25 minutes and 6 calls later the van arrived. Said needed to wait for another passenger, just 10 more minutes. After 35 minutes of repeated "just 10 more minutes" van finally left airport at 11:35. Dispatcher said "nothing I can do about it" and transferred to customer service. After elevator music customer service said you booked through a third party -- don't call us call them. Ranks right up there with Verizon and Comcast in the customer-is-always -wrong theory of customer service. read more

If I could give this service -5 I would. From SJC it took 2.5 hours to get to Sunnyvale, which is only 15 miles away. My flight arrived 15 minutes late at SJC. I had never taken Super Shuttle from SJC before and I did not know where to go. I called the customer service number and after sitting on hold for 10 minutes I was directed to the lower level of the parking garage. When I arrived at the parking garage I asked one of the other shuttle service drivers if I was in the right place. They told me I had to go to vestibule #10. I called the customer service number back to confirm. After another 10 minute wait on hold, the customer service representative informed me that I had to go to vestibule 10, a contradiction from the previous customer service rep. I started to walk towards vestibule 10 when the rep corrected herself and told me to go back to the parking garage. By this time I had landed over an hour ago and no sight of any Super Shuttle van. Doesn't Super Shuttle track the flights? Apparently not. Why do they bother taking the flight number if they are not going to track the flight. As I am standing at the parking garage, where the customer service rep advised me to go, a van drove past me and stopped at vestibule #10. I was in complete disbelief. Scared that I would miss the shuttle, I ran, with my son in tow, to the van. When I arrived at the van, other passengers, that had been waiting for two hours were loading into the van. The driver was trying to confirm reservations and almost kicked a family with two kids off the van because he didn't have enough room. All he had to do was clean off the passenger seat and allow someone to sit there. After 10 minutes on the phone with his dispatcher he finally did exactly that. As we were about to pull away, another van arrived. Our driver stopped and commenced in an argument for 10 minutes with the other driver. All of us in the van were extremely frustrated. Of course we all wanted to get out and seek other transportation, but we had all made reservations and Super Shuttle had our money. read more

I reserved a shuttle on 12/31/12, yes, flying in on NYE. Not a great time to be stranded at an airport. Super Shuttle has no desk at San Jose MIneta airport, so I called and gave my confirmation number. They instructed me to proceed to Station 10 to wait for the shuttle, and I could see it from the other end of the platform. Still on the phone, they transfered me to the driver, who told me, AS HE WAS PULLING AWAY, that he had no room, and some other shuttle would pick me up, and would i please tell all the other people waiting at the platform that there were no more shuttles tonight, that they had overbooked. The cost would have been $65.00 and tax + gratuity, and we were able to rent a car one way for $50. NEVER AGAIN. There is absolutely no accountability when they screw up, and they just don't give a crap if you're stranded and had paid in advance. They know their name is well-known, and they get enough business to stay in business, so they really don't care if you get to your destination or not. Pick-up service to SFO is pretty reliable; getting the return from airport back home in San Jose is more of a hassle. We were in a van for two hours on the afternoon of July 4th (Van 289) because the driver first dropped a passenger in Mountain View and instead of proceeding to SJ, then drove 20 miles north again to drop off a passenger in Hayward. Really poor scheduling of passenger drop-offs. It's been our experience that the van trip from SFO to SJ means you will be in the van for up to two hours. This was not our first experience and will be looking for alternative companies for our next trip. read more

I made reservations from San Carlos to Oakland airport both ways. They took me to the airport fine. They left me stranded at the airport going home. When I called the dispatch number, I was on hold for over an hour. When someone finally answered, they said they had no driver to take me to San Carlos even though I had a reservation. The one bus at the stop was going to San Francisco and the driver said he could not take me. I had to get another shuttle bus and had to pay more. The next day I called for a refund, and they wouldn't give me one because they put me down as a no show. I had to put in a claim with my credit caqrd company. Use someone else. read more
