This was a HORRIBLE experience. I needed an early ride to SJ Airport, so I called 3 days ahead to set up a reservation for 4am. Everything went fine, and they assured me that someone would call 15 minutes before reaching my door, then again when they arrived. The day before, I called to confirm the reservation. They let me know that they had my reservation and would see me the next day. But this morning, no one called ahead. At 3:55am, I called to ensure that the driver was on the way. The agent told me that no driver was coming, that no one was available. I asked why they hadn't called ahead to let me know, and she said that they work 4am-8pm. I objected that they knew at 8pm the night before that they had no driver to take me but didn't bother to call. She replied that it would be best for me to look for another ride to the airport. I guess so. I will never use this service again. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. I think the drivers are basically sub-contractors for Green Cab. Ours, FISEHA BIZUNE, failed to get our luggage out of the trunk at our dropoff and we had so much going on we didn't notice until we got inside the house. We were finally able to contact him and....get this--he said he didn't have it, we insisted we did and to check his trunk. Surprise! There it was but he said he was already at home and would not deliver our bag until, maybe, tomorrow. We threatened to call the police since he was basically holding our bag hostage. He still wouldn't so we insisted we come get it. When we did he was hostile. Don't ride in any Green Cab. They are unaccountable for their shady drivers. read more

driver of car #1563 needs to learn the rules of the road. on 2021/01/21 around 6:45AM, this car stops at a red light in the right turn only lane. after a few seconds, i tap the horn. after another few seconds, i tap the horn two more times. after about 25 seconds, the light turns green and the car finally goes. as i pass the car, they start honking at me, get behind me, tailgate me and high beam me. driver of car #1563 must have taken exception to my honks. driver of car #1563 does not know that you can make a right turn on red after stopping at most intersections and will get recklessly aggressive. why do some of the absolute worst drivers, drive for a living? read more

Set up an early morning ride to San Jose airport the day before. Ten minutes after the appointed time I call the dispatcher and was told the driver was going to be at least 30 minutes late. I had an international flight scheduled so I had to get to the airport and ended up taking my car and parking in the long-term lot costing me $126 vs the normal cab costs of $70 round trip. Hi, I would like to send this complaint that happened today 3/10/21 while I was working. I was unloading my truck and had plenty of space and hazard lights on for my safety. When all of a sudden I seen a green car almost hit me!!! I f I had stepped back once the gentleman would have hit me with his car! When he got out of the car I told him that he needed to be more careful when driving because he almost hit me, he just looked at me and turned away. I told him that it shows how close he came to hitting me that he parked on and over the parking space line. He came back to take a look and said the car next to him was parked close so what was he supposed to do. I told him really??? The car next to him had plenty of space, but still didn't take in that things could of been worse where I could have been hurt! I used green cab at San Jose airport and highly regret it. After going into one of their vans, I noticed how dirty and beat up it was inside. How can you allow so much dust, stains, ripped seats and so forth in a public transportation vehicle? How can we not fear that you can potentially get sick or covid in one of these rides since they don't care to clean it and probably don't sanitizer or take preventative measures? Smh! The only reason taxi companies like this are failing is because they allow themselves to! It doesn't take much effort to keep your vehicles clean. Y'all should close up! read more

The driver was one of the rudest people I have met. Initially we were told the fare was $15. He manually changed that at our destination, to $20. He then got out of the cab, literally threw our cases onto the road, and, when I gave him the money told me I had to pay more, that he knew where we came from and that we expected to get everything for nothing. We had only just arrived in the US, had no idea where we were, but excited for our trip. We had not travelled far, just to San Jose, Diridon station to catch the train, so the original, quoted fare was enough. A bad start. Happily we have had a wonderful time overall, he was just a deeply unpleasant man. Would never use this service again. read more

We took one of these to go home from SJC because I felt bad for the line of taxi drivers getting no business while everyone swarmed the app ride share area. Sadly, it seems as though they are getting no business for a reason. Our driver barely communicated through grunts and his car smelled like old sweat. The taxi metre ran suspiciously fast, going up by four dollars over 1.5 miles with no traffic or red lights. Fair enough. But the clincher was asking to pay by credit card and getting told he only takes cash. SJC rules state all major credit cards are accepted, so he should have accepted it and probably did have the equipment for it, but we didn't feel like arguing at this point. I am however giving one extra star because the driver drove smoothly and safely. read more

IF someone didn't take the jack out of my trunk when they borrow'd my car... GRRR!! So, I walked my best "don't ph*ck wid me, yo" walk out into the post-club evening with my laptop bag slung over my shoulder (... her name's Dr.Girlfriend, hell if I was leaving her in the car overnight... ) and waved down the first cab I saw... a Golden Star cab (why are they painted green?!). "blank-blank and 101?", I ask. "...sure, get in", he replies with no hesitation. More than once I've encountered cabbies who don't want to take a fare that far away from downtown. Took the most direct route, no BS. Even stopped the meter at $20 exactly, even though there was another light and a couple blocks yet to the destination. Much appreciated, buddy! Apparently consistent with all of the other poor reviews, Green Cab certainly lived down to its poor showing yesterday, 2/8/15, at San Jose international Airport. My wife arrived during the heavy rain that occurred in the early evening hours, and as she approached the Green Cab at the taxi stand at the airport, the driver went out of his way to do nothing other then push the button that popped the trunk. A nice gentleman passing by offered to help my wife put her bags into the trunk. The green cab driver didn't lift a finger. Same indifferent level of service at the end of the ride - he pulled up to our house, took his fare, and popped the trunk, nothing more. I will go out of my way to avoid doing business with Green Cab for future airport or taxi rides in San Jose. read more

WARNING! Stay away from this company. This is the absolute worst cab company ever! I have live in 4 of the 10 biggest cities in the USA and have never had such an awful experience. They employ people that could not care less about you. Unfortunately I had no choice because I was coming from the airport and they do not allow Uber to do pick ups. Please call your local government and tell them you want Uber or any other option. These cab companies should not have a monopoly. The driver demanded cash instead of credit and then would not open the truck to allow me to get my bag. He drove off with my bag and all my stuff. I scheduled a cab 24 hours in advance but 5 minutes before it was scheduled to arrive the dispatcher called and told me the cab would be 15 minutes late. As a result I missed my flight. Other than that the service was okay. But since I missed my flight I can't recommend using this service. When I was waiting in the security line someone told me they used Uber and that it got them there with no problem. I haven't tried Uber before but I might try it next time since unreliable service is not useful for getting to the airport. read more

I asked him to take through North first street instead of great america pkwy because its a shorter route and he was pissed off.( common seriously?) For a cab service affiliated with an airport, Green Cab (formally, Golden Star Cab) was horrible! Yes, the unfriendly cab driver helped put our suitcases in the back of his mini van. Yes, the inexperienced driver's cab was clean. But, the swerving and the throwing of our bags in the middle of the street (which caused us to drag dog poop into our place) was what pushed me over the edge. Yes, I said "in the middle of the street"... because this particular driver wasn't even courteous enough to pull into the freakin' driveway. And I say "middle" because that's exactly where he was - not veered to the left OR the right but straight, right dab in the middle! The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the decent cab and our fare (for 4 adults and a toddler) came out to a little less than 20 bucks. read more

It seems Green Cab is a mixed bag. The company is owner operated and the service provided by the drivers varies widely. Since everyone works for themselves there is no way to discipline bad drivers as in a traditional cab company. Unfortunately for the good drivers at Green Cab, there seem to be plenty bad apples working as drivers. For the past couple of years I have exclusively used Sy at Green Cab. This guy is the best cabbie I have encountered in decades.He works more like a car service than a traditional taxi. He does not cruise for fares but prefers to rely on a group of regular customers to support his wife and kids. His cab, a new hybrid SUV is immaculate and still has the new car smell. When I schedule a ride to the San Jose or San Francisco airport he shows up 15 minutes EARLY and waits for me to come out rather than honking or ringing the door bell. For airport pickups, I tell him when my flight arrives and he waits in the cellphone lot until I text him that I am on my way to the taxi stand. Sy is the best read cabbie I have met and is very interesting to talk to. On the other hand, if you are not fully awake on your early airport run or don't feel in the mood for conversation, he will be happy to drive without yaking to fill the time. It was an airport ride to a hotel. At the destination, a hotel, the cabbie said his credit card machine was not working, so I had to give him cash. After asking five times to make sure his credit card machine was not working, he denied each time. When I said I had no cash, he asked how I was going to pay him. He started driving away, claiming he was going to a near ATM machine, so I could have cash. He continued driving away and did not return to the destination after I asked once or twice. The last time I said to return, he eventually steered his cab back to the hotel. He was not driving near to an ATM. It was threatening and felt not safe. At the hotel, he miraculously made his credit card machine work. I believe he could kidnap someone. read more

This morning as I sat on the 87 overpass to north 101 waiting for the meter light, driver of cab number 577, license plate 8Z26937, barely missed my back bumper when he changed lanes to be behind me in the far right lane. He then remained about an inch off my back bumper as we inched forward towards the meter lights. Given his tailgating, I put a little more distance between myself and the car in front of me which caused the cab driver to lay on his horn. Again, this was an overpass, where 3 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic waited for the meter lights. There was nowhere for me to go. When I rolled down my window and yelled for him to stop tailgating me, he then tried to swerve around on the right to pass me on the shoulder. There was not enough room so he began to honk at me again. I still had NOWHERE to move. He began to swerve to the left and right as if trying to find a way to pass. He was endangering all the cars in the area. Still honking his horn for me to move and tailgating. This was his behavior the entire time we waited on the meter lights until he could reach the De La Cruz exit and move around me. He then sped off cutting off another car. This is completely unacceptable to me and to the other drivers around me who were watching him and shaking their heads. This makes a bad name for this company as I certainly would never use a cab company whose drivers were this reckless. Had I been a passenger in his car, you can bet I would have demanded he pull over to let me out and I would NOT have paid for his trip. If these are the types of drivers that SJ Green cab employs, you can be sure that I will let people know how unsafe they are. There is a huge difference between aggressive/defensive driving and road rage. This driver needs to be taught that as he clearly had road rage. I left a voice mail at the cab company and have not heard back from them. I also reported the drive to CHP. Avoid these people if you want to stay safe! read more

I would definitely avoid using this cab company again. The driver was rude. He would not open the trunk to allow me to get my suitcase out until I paid him (and tipped him more than 15%). And then he just popped the trunk, stayed in the driver's seat, and made me get my own suitcase. Not that I really care--I am an adult and can handle getting a suitcase out of a trunk, but still... I will note too that the trunk did not have a carpeted bottom. I had to put my brand new suitcase on top of the spare tire and tire irons. Again, not a major issue in most cases, but in this case it seems to be part of a pattern of sh*tty service. Also, the cab fare seemed unusually high. I will admit that I know nothing about how cab fares are calculated, but this was a trip from the airport to my home, which is very close by. The fare was almost $20 for a five minute ride. Going to the airport from my home (with a different, better company), my fare was just $15.00. To me, a cab ride should not even register on the grand scheme of things. Just get me from point A to point B, thanks, etc. The fact that it did register, and that it made me angry enough to bring my yelp account out of retirement to post about it, says something about the quality of this service. read more

I made a reservation, confirmed by their email, on the afternoon before an early flight from San Jose Airport. At 10 minutes past their scheduled pick-up time, I call them. (They ask for our phone numbers. Why can't they call us?) Dispatcher explains that cab is 10-15 minutes away from my house. We don't make these reservations expecting 25 minute delays for the cab. Fast, reliable, and readily available when leaving San Jose airport. I was going to call a lyft or uber but both applications were not working and one was requesting for me to input my payment method all over again. I saw the green cab waiting across the street and made it over instead of dealing with the hassle that the uber and lyft applications were giving me. My cabbie was quiet and nice. He made an effort to really get me to where I was going and did not stall or divert to back streets to rack up the fare. I paid cash which I'm sure made his day read more

I live in San Jose, usually cost $20 from SJC to home by taxi, $15 by Uber, $55 by limo. The past two times I took Green Cab from SJC to home, one cost $45, another cost $55. Why? June 10th a littler after 9am an older gentleman driving one of your cabs #1538 started cutting drivers off to make his way from 87 to 101. He cut off at least 5 other drivers almost causing several accidents. Not sure if he was drunk, too old to drive or just can't drive but you might want to reconsider his employment. read more

Grabbed this cab after seeing a Sharks game. He wasn't very talkative, but friendly enough. He was all business though, drove quickly, safely and took a different route than the other cab company we used to get to the arena. We were kind of nervous about that, but it proved fruitful. We went the same exact distance, but it was a full six dollars cheaper. Ethical and professional. Great experience all around. read more

I came home from the San Jose International Airport and caught a cab. I asked the taxi attendant outside if the Green Cab takes credit cards and he said yes. So when I got in the cab and told him I was using my credit card his response was obvious that he preferred cash. We don't live that far from the airport and it cost $40.80 to get home. Worst ever! They are contracted with San Andreas regional center to transport adults with disabilities. They are more then 45 minutes late and never call. ***THIS REVIEW IS FOR ABDI TAXI #508*** I'm a doctor and I've been using Abdi Taxi #508 for over the past 6 months on a weekly (at least) basis for bringing patients to my company or around the Bay Area to wherever we are seeing patients. Abdi was a referral from a medical office that my company partners with. We require a monthly invoice rather than paying per ride, and he was one of few that was able to accept such an arrangement. As a frequent Yelper, I decided that I should help him out by leaving him a good review in a public place, because my co-workers, patients, and I have such an amazing experience with him from day 1. I didn't expect that he would already have reviews, so I typed in "Green Cab" from his card and was so surprised to find this listing. I was sure I had the wrong listing because it couldn't possibly have a 1 star average, right?! But I clicked on the picture and checked the address against the card and sure enough, it was the right company... At the risk of making Abdi so popular that I can't get him for my company, but wanting to help him get more good customers, I will now recount a couple key experiences with him: 1. The first day we used him, I was running late to arrive at the location we were supposed to meet our patient. My co-worker showed up early and was sitting outside, and she saw the taxi pull up early also and frantically texted me. I told them to stall. My co-worker saw Abdi open the door for our elderly patient, help her out of the car, and bring her over to a bench to sit on while they waited for me. He then proceeded to chat with both my co-worker and the patient until I arrived with the key to the building! My co-worker was flabbergasted, since she has never seen a taxi driver so attentive and kind, going above and beyond his simple duty of just driving people around. He could've just left her there and come back when it was time to take her back home, but he was friendly and considerate. My co-worker thought at first that Abdi was the patient's caretaker, because he was so kind, and could hardly believe he was a taxi driver. 2. We were at another location in the South Bay and I asked Abdi to bring some patients there. He said that actually he partners with that office too and was very familiar with the staff there. I felt immediately at ease and many of our patients recognized him and knew him from other times he had brought them to that office. 3. At our own company headquarters, our front desk staff specifically sought me out and told me that this one taxi driver we were using (Abdi) was absolutely a sweetheart! The staff told me that she witnessed Abdi helping each of our elderly patients with the utmost care and respect. I also witnessed this myself when I would walk our patients back out to meet Abdi, and as soon as he saw us he would run to meet us at the company door and open the door for us. This review is long enough already, but I really could go on with more stories and I've asked every single patient we've seen how they liked their trip and they can't stop gushing about how nice and friendly he is and how he's unlike any other taxi driver. It's sad to me that it seems like Abdi might be the only good driver from this company, but I guess I can tell you that if you want to book a cab from here despite the other reviews, book Abdi. However, I get first dibs on him, ok? It's of utmost importance to me that he services my elderly patients. :) In summary, Abdi #508 is: - Courteous - Friendly - Professional - Goes above and beyond - Great with all ages, but particularly good for seniors and those with limited mobility (he'll actually help buckle in the patient if he sees that it would help) - Never complains about anything - Very kind - Responsive and communicative (he always texts or emails me back right away, and will call my patients the day before to confirm the pick up time, he'll email me to confirm that he did this, and he'll text me when he arrives with my patient) - Always early or at least on time if there was traffic - Trustworthy My company and my patients love him! read more

I thought I was the only one noticed how bad this company is. I work at a DDS facility and one of our clients takes Green Cab with me. Most of their drivers are RACIST, RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. They wont even let you sit in front. Cars are smelly and dirty, just like their attitude. Im not saying all of them but trust me, a lot of them are mean and bad at driving!
