I can never remember the hours and Al has stayed an hour or so late multiple times helping me out as well as the owner Alan. Toy Trains! Model Kits! And all the other art sets, car tracks, European and Japanese toys and "Stuff." You know how a modern store just has people behind the counter? Hobby Works has staff walking the floor to help you. And they really help. And they know their stuff. And when you're there, it's got that friendly clubhouse atmosphere like you stopped off here while walking home from school in the 6th grade. Sometimes it feels like with online shopping, kids won't ever experience the friendly local stores like we did. Not while Hobby Works is open, it's all modern, but it's a shopping experience that most stores lost over the years- and our kids deserve to experience that friendliness.

They each got one. We got home and went to our local card guy to have them checked out. He took one look and said they are fake. We were told they are rare and new collectibles and when we told that to our card guy he said that's a joke we see a lot of them and they are fake. There are several aisles of model train accessories, scenery, train sets and tracks of several different scale types. The prices seemed in line/a tad higher than most places I've shopped. They had an area with Thomas trains and a small end cap with a Thomas wooden train set kept my youngest occupied while we checked out the rest of their offering. They had a couple aisles of models - ships, military planes, cars etc., rocket sets, RC cars, supplies like paint and tools and some games like Warhammer which I'm not familiar with at all. I enjoyed stepping back in time while I walked around and love it that small operations like this are still around. We bought some Thomas items that were fairly priced and are happy with them. Give these guys a look if your in the area and support small businesses!

They have a wide variety of models, a great paint section including Valejo, AK, Citadel, Model Painter, Mr Model, etc. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable for retail. I don't know why there are not more reviews here, this place is a gem. I drive the hour gladly to be a kid again.
