First of all, it is hard to believe that this is the head office for auto value. wow what a huge…read moredifference between their stores and here. when I first walked in the smell of cigarette smoke by the front door will kill people; when I finally got in there (after gagging) the counter staff were all on their cell phones oblivious to the fact i was there. when I finally got noticed the customer service was horrible. so anyway as I'm waiting for my order to be brought to the front i overheard the lady in the office beside the front door and she was very rude and talking to the person on the other end of the phone like they were completely stupid. aa I am loading my car I'm assuming that it was warehouse staff came out and lit up not even a foot from the door making it impossible for a non smoker to breathe. but that wasn't the worst part. they were very loud in their complaints about management. so in a nutshell: miserable rude employees that made this loyal auto value shopper head for napa stores.

We arrived at approximately 5:30 PM, about 30 minutes before the listed closing time of 6:00 PM on Google. As out-of-town customers unfamiliar with the process, this created confusion when we were turned away shortly after arriving. We had driven about an hour and a half as a family, including two polite teenagers, to visit this location. We had been interacting with staff since 4 PM and were shocked when we arrived to be turned away. During the very brief interaction, Haley was verbally aggressive not only toward us but also toward at least three other customers, swearing and behaving in a hostile manner for no clear reason. When we calmly tried to explain the confusion around closing time, we were told she would call the police. I think we would welcome this. Somebody needs to hold this woman accountable. Please check your security footage for the way that she behaved, you need to manage this harassment of customers. The overall experience felt highly unprofessional, intimidating, and completely unacceptable for a public-facing business. This was one of the most shocking customer service experiences we have ever had in Canada. We would not recommend this location, and we will be following up to report this thoroughly as business leaders should not be acting like this. Especially 25 minutes before closing, threatening to call security on people and telling them to leave the parking lot. We felt very threatened and unsafe. It was insanity.

I searched the store and finally had to ask an employee where it was (showing him the device on my phone). He asked for the SKU # which I found and gave to him. He said that location didn't have it, but the South store had 18. WHY ARE YOU ADVERTISING SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T HAVE AT ALL LOCATIONS? We decided to drive to the south store, as we wanted to buy a couple. We drove another 20km + to the south store. I can see why INDEED.COM has so many negative employee comments. The first lady I talked to was terse and wouldn't even look at me (customers are an inconvenience I guess). The 2nd person said "I don't know where they are," and began walking away. I asked if she could find someone that did, to which she responded by going to a computer (in a huff). She asked for the SKU # which I gave her. She said they have them and they should be on the floor, but said she would check in the back. 10 minutes later she came back and said "I can't find them." Having gone out of my way to find and purchase the item, I asked for the Managers name. She said "Owen" but didn't know his last name. I went to the front till and asked another person, who also did not know (and also was visibly perturbed by my presence) and finally asked another employee who said his last name is Frank. Your inventory control is bad, but your customer service is even worse. There were customers AND staff that were not wearing face masks properly or at all. I can see why your reviews are generally negative and existing and former staff hate(d) working there. I have purchased a number of things from your store that I found on REBEE (online flyer)- I will never enter your store again. When retail in general is hurting so bad, AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS!? WOW. I will also encourage friends, family and others to NEVER shop at Princess Auto again. They even left a note in the inspection about "Clutch Performance", the clutch is only 2 months old and had ZERO ISSUES before they drove the car. Additionally, they tried to tell me I needed all new brakes and rotors when mine are more than perfect. Overall, I would never return to this shop and would advise you do not come here especially if you drive a manual transmission.
