Friendly and informative, he asked several questions, turned on the washer, did some online checking to verify the issues, and declared the patient near death. Though I wanted better news, Brandon explained the issues thoroughly and offer helpful suggestions about brands that might serve me better than the 10 years I got out of this Maytag. His suggestions were later born out by Consumers Reports reviews. We hired All City to try to fix our refrigerator. It wasn't that old, but the freezer had stopped fully freezing and the refrigerator had started freezing things. Brandon came out with a mask on without my having to ask and was very upfront about what the repair might be and what the cost might be. He actually returned with a needed part that very afternoon, but once he was inside of the appliance, he let me know that the usual fix might not be the problem. He let me know that the other solution might be very expensive and that I should call them back if replacing the temperature sensor didn't work. Well, the sensor wasn't the problem, which I appreciate him warning me might happen! Since the fix didn't work, and the other problem wouldn't be worth fixing for us, the company refunded part of the charges, which was great. Considerate, prompt, and professional. Our dishwasher wasn't working properly, so we called Mike after we read all of the positive reviews on Yelp. He did not disappoint. He fixed the issue in less than 1/2 an hour! I had read the previous review here and then coincidentally my husband killed our washing machine by over-stuffing it...called All City and the phone was immediately ANSWERED by Michael-- (this was huge--not the annoying voice mail I always seem to receive nowadays). I explained the problem to him and he said he would be able to make it out that afternoon! Service call charge is VERY reasonable...he called on the way to our house to let us know he was coming and when he would be there. Arrived right on time and quickly confirmed the problem with the washer. Repaired what he could quickly- he was out of a certain part and had to return two days later to complete the job, but the machine was operable when he left after the first appointment. Again he called on his way for the second visit and arrived right on time---finished the job quickly and for a reasonable price. We had a challenging issue with our Maytag refrigerator. Mike came back three times (because he had to order or locate the parts) to trouble shoot and nail down the problem. My refrigerator stopped cooling. I called and Mike answered the phone. He was very professional. Apparently he does all the work there so I'm assuming it's a one man show. He showed up in the time 2hr time slot he mentioned. Again he was very professional in appearance and knowledge. Unfortunately he told me that my fridge had a system leak and the repair would be $300 and is not guaranteed to fix the problem and that I would be better off buying new fridge since mine was not a top of the line model anyways. All City had a tech out in two days even in the crazy busy days after the last power outages. Brandon got my refrigerator running long enough to get a new mother board to replace the one fried by a power surge. He spent time discussing with me the pros and cons of repair versus replacement. We decided to repair, and he was back two days later with the new parts. Installion was quick and tidy. This was a great service, can't recommend them enough. Michael, the owner, came himself and was in and out in 15 minutes. We had a burnt out lid switch, he had a variety on the truck, and had it fixed quickly for a very fair price of $120.00. Comparatively, Sears couldn't get here for 8 days, and the quote was substantially higher. All City was Same day service, I think I called at 9:30 AM and he was here at 11:30 AM, fitting us in to schedule. Awesome! Prompt scheduling and service. Another highly-rated appliance repair place on here was already closed so I tried All City next. The other place didn't get back to me until later the following morning and left a voicemail saying they didn't service my GE appliances, Really?. Michael showed up right on time and quickly assessed issues with my oven and fridge. Both were easy fixes that I can address myself. He was honest about that. I called and explained that my ignitor was Going and it needed to be replaced. They came and walked in didn't even look at it and said yes the spark ignitor needs to be replaced, that part is around $300.00. I looked at him and said well if it's $300.00 I'm not fixing it, I will just buy a new stove. He said he can adjust the flame so it can catch easier but that I do need to buy a new stove. I found All City Appliance on Craigslist. My 14 yr old gas dryer stopped heating, and I wanted to buy a used dryer. I didn't think the dryer would be worth fixing, but saw the listing for All City and called. We have had All City Appliance Repair come out twice in about two months. First my dryer wasn't heating, so based on other reviews I called them.. They were polite and able to come out within a day and a half. Brandon came was polite, pleasant, & knew what he was doing. He had it fixed within the hour. He was actually earlier that the quoted time by 15 minutes, & didn't leave a mess. The second time I called it was my oven, which was smelling like gas every time I turned it on.They said Brandon could come out in 1 1/2 days. When I said that wasn't a good time, they gave a me an appointment the next day. Michael came out knew exactly what it was and had it fixed in about 25 minutes. In a world of dubious mechanics and repairmen, Mike stands out as one of the good guys who delivers way over and above expectations. When it came to light that my fridge was a brand he didn't work on, he refunded my payment in full including the cost of the service visit. They didn't think they'd be able to get here until tomorrow but within an hour they called back with an opening and soon after Michael was here... an hour later everything was fixed. It's SO hard to find a good service-man these days! I'm very pleased to say that I have. Not only prompt and courteous but reasonably priced as well. My heating element melted one night and by the next night I was cooking again. And it didn't cost a fortune! I called on Monday, and since there's a coin laundry just a few blocks away, this was not an emergency and I was fine about waiting until he'd be in my area the next day. Michael does an amazing job with repair and more importantly customer service. He isn't kidding about same day service, nor about the free revisits for a year. He fixed my dishwasher, and several months later came back for free to fix a barely related issue on the same machine.
