Fast response - diagnostic appointment of AC unit scheduled for early next morning. Tech Kayla diagnosed problem quickly and explained options for fixing the AC unit quickly and clearly. Refrigerant was gone indicating it had one or more leaks. I decided to have the refrigerant refilled as stop-gap measure. The total cost for the appointment was $517. It was a failure on my end to not ask if I could have gone with less refrigerant to save money. In the end I'm only using the AC unit for 14 days before having it replaced. Kayla's estimate for repair was approximately $5000 plus a chance for it to be more based on the time it would take to find the leak(s). I decided to go with replacement of the AC unit based on its 11 year age and the approximate cost of $6000 to fix it. Sales person Steve contacted me later that day and scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for replacement. I found him personable and professional and he gave his estimate promptly with the information I needed about it. I had 2 followup questions that he quickly answered. In the end I went someone else for the AC unit replacement, but more because of an option to include switching my furnace to have an electrostatic filter at the same time I did the AC unit replacement. I called for service on my AC unit on a Wednesday morning. The unit had failed on a Monday but we had to wait for our home warranty to give us clearance to use an outside contractor. The person indicated that they should be able to get to us before the end of the week. I didn't receive a call Thursday or Friday so I called in on Friday. They said they were still catching up and that it should be early next week. I didn't receive a call on Monday or Tuesday. I called Wednesday morning and they said they would have their scheduler call me. Of course I didn't receive a call from anyone at D&J. Finally I called another service company and they said they could have someone out by noon the next day. I called D&J Wednesday afternoon and they said they had a technician coming yet today. I don't believe this as they probably realized they screwed up and re-routed someone to my ticket having totally dropped the ball. I told them how badly they have handled my request and told them to cancel my service call. This is terrible service from a service company. I would definitely NOT recommend using Donovan and Jorgenson for any service, installation, or other. read more

A few months ago i asked for recommendations for furnace installer on the Next Door Neighbor app. Many people answered. In the end i tallied up what companies came up the most. And i got quotes from 3 of the top companies. The number 1 company was Donovan Jorgenson. I liked the furnace they offered with 12 year parts and labor warranty and replacement of furnace if the stainless steel primary and Secondary heat exchangers ever failed. I liked that it was 97% efficient and was a modulating furnace with variable speed fan. I liked their price. Frankly their warranty is the best i have found. I chose them and signed a contract in july but we delayed install till last week (1st week of September) as we didn't want to be without ac in summer. They installed last week. Donovan Jorgenson did a fantastic job. I was told they would arrive at 8:30. They arrived promptly at 8:30. They put down a throw rug over our floor between garage entrance and basement stairwell to protect floor from dirt or damage. There were 3 installers there that all worked on different tasks. An electrician came later to do the electrical work. They were all done at 1:30 pm. They cleaned up and left NO mess. They took away the furnace and other removed materials. They explained everything i wanted to know about the new furnace and new thermostat. I was VERY IMPRESSED! I can HIGHLY recommend Donovan Jorgenson. Called for heat being out on our residential hydronic boiler system. The technician misdiagnosed the problem as being a mercury flame sensor that is no longer made. He said a kit could be used to replace this sensor and several other required components. The cost of the kit would be $1900 plus several hours of labor to install. I called another HVAC company for a second opinion. This technician said the pump isn't running and that's what's causing the issues. He replaced the pump and was done in a little over an hour. He also purged the air out of the system. Now all the radiators are working, and the house is toasty. Lastly, I saved at least $1500 by getting another opinion. read more

We hired Donovan and Jorgenson to add mini-splits to our 1960's mid century home and they did an absolutely phenomenal job from start to finish! We worked with Adam on the sales side to get our project quoted. He went above and beyond to help us understand our options. He was very thorough and detailed in his quoting process, transparent about prices and was available for all of our questions throughout the process. He assisted us in coordinating with our contractor who needed to repair the exterior where the original 1960's A/C vent was being removed which made the entire process seamless and pain free. While I was house sitting the heat went out resulting in the inside temperature dropping to 48 degrees. On top of that, it was a Saturday evening. Oh boy I thought, here comes the emergency rates. I called the sticker on the furnace and that company told me they wouldn't be able to get to me until Monday. I wasn't chancing frozen pipes so I hopped on Yelp and looked for another option. Donovan & Jorgenson had some positive reviews and a claimed Yelp profile so I took a chance and called them. They picked up quick, were extremely professional, and could have someone out to me in the morning. Sold! In the morning technician Al called me and let me know he was on his way. He arrived on time, and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue in short order, made the fix, and showed me what the issue was. Now here comes the part I was dreading, the bill. To my surprise it was much, much lower than I had anticipated. Score! Called to ask about installing a whole home dehumidifier and the sales rep spoke very plainly and clearly to me about waiting to see if one was necessary. The honesty with Steve is phenomenal. I then asked about maintenance on the HVAC unit itself and they were extremely helpful in telling me about their annual maintenance plan where they'll come out every 6 months to clean the furnace for the winter, and the condenser coil for the summer. I just got my furnace cleaned with them and was very pleased with the before and after. The gentleman showed me all the parts that were cleaned, he was very respectful of my house, and even helped seal up a few air gap leaks along the duct work (which they didn't install, another company needed up and installed a leaky system). My only concern would be that they don't clean the A-coil when they do the summer AC tune-up. Otherwise, I'm on their annual maintenance plan now and will be very happy to see the results come time summer! read more

I called them for a second opinion after I had a large company with flashy commercials with family and children in them inspect my furnace after it stopped working. That company told me I needed a new furnace and there was a danger of my heat exchanger leaking carbon monoxide any many other issues, they were selling fear and lies. Adam inspected my furnace and showed me each area that the other company said was an issue, and I quickly found that the other company had lied about all of the problems and my furnace needed only a small repair to be running fine. I used them several years ago for an air conditioning repair. The service was prompt and reasonable for a Sunday repair. I called them in late summer, again for an air conditioning repair. My call was never returned. Today I called them for a furnace repair. I first sent an email, which was not answered. When I call I had to spoke to three office personal before I got an answer. The last person I talked to, Mindy, took all the information and asked if I had ever used them before. I guess that must be important. She checked and found my phone number and told me that the next available technician would call me back. No suggestion of setting up an appointment and seven hours later I have not been acknowledged by a technician. I know this may not be a big job and new furnaces are what make money, but repairs are important, too. I would never call them again. To not even get a phone call back the same day is just poor business practice. read more

I woke up this morning very cold and discovered the furnace was not working. I called around for a furnace repair company and decided on Donovan & Jorgenson. Their reviews were good (on their web page) and my husband said "they have been around so they must be good". And he was right, our furnace is fixed but needs another part. The cost wasn't bad at all compared to other places. They will be coming back to replace the diaphragm with no added service charge. Our furnace was running by noon and my fingers are warming up.
