Our kitty Taj has visited All Creatures many times over the years. Last week at the age of 17 he made his final visit. It was obviously VERY hard for us but we knew it was the right thing to do. Dr Albert was absolutely fantastic as he kindly and with obvious passion explained our options. When we brought him in that final day the entire staff was the same way, explaining the process step by step and allowing us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. We've been going to them for the past 20 years (really--since 2002) with a variety of pets including cats, dogs and rabbits. They've helped us with everything from routine/preventative care to emergency care, right up to end of life care. Always compassionate, always gentle with our pets. (I remember one time I heard them in the back talking to one of our cats in the sweetest way--just like our cat was one of their own pets!) It's not possible for me to recommend them highly enough. If they rescued drunk animals, it'd be Ale Creatures. Or, from back alleys - Alley Creatures. As it happens, I've had bad experiences with this place on all 3 of the times I've dealt with them. Firstly, I had an appointment for my little baby kitten because they were recommended by a local (who must be rich), and my goodness... the cost of the visit was shocking. Secondly, a different time, I went in to ask some questions and the girls at the desk were very busy, but unneccessarily hostile and condescending. Thirdly, I needed wildlife advice and called to speak to the vet. I was talked down to (on the phone) again, but assured that the vet would call me back. I never got a call back. 3 stars just because some friends regard this place very highly. Personally not so much. That's All I have to say. read more

I feel like I hit the jackpot that I happened to buy a house within walking distance to All Creatures Animal Hospital. The doctors and staff are caring & compassionate. Every time I walk my dog through the door, the front desk staff makes me feel welcome & expected. My dog has seen more than one doctor, but she's got a special attachment to Dr Albert. We request to see him every time we make an appointment, and it's never an issue getting in. He's so good with Ruby! I love how he gets on the floor with her & rubs her belly, pets her & just loves on her. Ruby feels completely safe with him, and that makes me feel very good as a dog mom. My mom's dog also goes here, and her dog has a very different temperament. She's so afraid of everything & everyone! But Dr Albert talks to her in a soft & soothing voice. He's had to perform surgery on Sadie for bladder stones, and we were extremely confident going into the procedure. He's a pro at what he does and has a very skilled team working with and for him. One of the reasons I chose All Creatures Animal Hospital was because of how close they are to the house. But I follow them on Facebook & love how active they are on social media. They are very transparent, which makes you feel good as a client. And I've seen them treat deer & other wild animals who were hit by a car or injured in some way. Stop seeing our pets after 5 years misdiagnosed my dog man handled my dog on the scale twice. Didn't complain and sent us all our pets records after 5 years of seeing them would not even have the courtesy of asking what the problem was. Treating our cat for allergies for almost 5 years and just stop seeing her. My dog Pepper died after receiving a shot. So ask me what I refer this veterinary clinic absolutely not. I have noticed that there was a lack of concern about all of our animals and us as owners it's either their way or the highway and their way is abuse and misdiagnosis. read more

We have brought our sweet bunny Peanut for the past few months or so. This was the nearest veterinarian that takes care of rabbits. We took Peanut here the first time for a checkup when he was about 6 months old. Everything went well and we asked the vet for the pros and cons of neutering which was explained to us well and we were even given a quote. He even got to be featured on their Facebook page. :) A few months later Peanut was having some GI issues and we were able to take him to be seen emergently right away. Everything was well explained to us and I happen to be going out of town for work the next day. All Creatures was able to board Peanut while I was away for a very decent price. I mainly did this because I was uneasy about his normal bunny sitter being able to administer his medications. Peanut ended up staying at All Creatures for 5 or so nights and we were even sent picture and text updates which made me feel a lot better. The staff at the office was just great and helpful when we were dealing with Peanut being sick. I also referred one of my coworkers here and was given a referral credit on my account. I would definitely recommend this veterinary office to anyone, especially for rabbits / exotics. read more

This is one of the only hospitals around that treats exotic pets .. and treats them WELL. Many hospitals claim to take small pets, rodents, Avians, and reptiles , but they have no experience and no knowledge. This place takes such great care of my pets, and they're reasonable when it comes to cost as well. Everyone is friendly, and there is usually never a wait (if there is it's less than 5 minutes.) one of the other perks is it's SO CLEAN. My allergies are horrendous , and usually entering a pet store or someone's home will set them off. I never see flying fur, there's no fur all over the seats, no hair balls on the floor, and it doesn't smell like "animal." I don't know how they do it. As long as I live in buffalo, this is the place for us ! read more

So glad I found good, solid vet care close to home. Dr. Jennifer was very good to my Patrick and gave him some relief of what was ailing him. The techs were nice too. My favorite part: They wrote up an itemized cost estimate of the care that my dog would be receiving. The estimate was less than I thought it would be and they even over-shot by about $75 once I paid the final tab! But I was happy to pay that bill because they prepared me! Word to the wise for other vet clinics: I would have loved if the previous clinic we visited had braced me for the cost that would be incurred by having my 2 dogs vaccinated there before any services had been rendered. read more

This use to be a great place to take your animal you love so much. Not so much anymore. They book themselves so solid it takes weeks to get an appointment, even if your animal is in pain. I couldn't even get a call back, I offered to pay, whatever it took, I got nothing. I got a dog who is miserable. A dog that's been seeing them for 6 years, she was so happy to go there. Now it's more like a privilege to go there, and have them bless you with their time. Dr. A is much better than the other. But their office needs a much better system. read more

Even though he just had his annual physical in September, they insisted he needed it again in order to administer the Rabies vaccine. $70 for the vet to sit on the floor for 5 minutes with my dog. Horrific experience! I recently moved to East Amherst and needed a Vet for my dog. I went there to get treatment for an ear infection. When I 1st entered I was impressed with the friendly techs, & they had comfort bandanas to put on your dog, to make your dogs experience better. Our dog is a friendly, & docile. However, he can get nervous when he feels he is about to be violated-so I put the bandana on him. They took us to a room with a cat house in it. I stood out in the hall until someone came by & asked for another room as I am allergic to cats. Mistake #1. I was told all their rooms had cat houses in them (Clearly they cater to cats). Eventually, they put us in a room that had the smallest cat house. When the Vet came in she immediately got on the floor to get to know our dog. I thought wow! Before you know it she became condescending, asking me where I thought my dog fit on the weight classification, suggested I was over feeding him, and probably giving him beef. Then she told me our dog needed allergy shots. I said how do you know he has allergies if this is the 1st time you are seeing him. I attempted to refocus & said I am here for a ear infection. Then she said he needed oral surgery as he has a chipped tooth-a chip that he has had for some time and clearly has not effected his eating. Again I attempted to refocus, stating I am here for an ear infection. Then she said he was not up to date with his vaccinations. I informed her that our dog is up to date & brought his records in when I arrived. She stepped out of the room, a tech comes back and does not apologize. Rather, they said they called my Vet & they said that the dog is lacking vaccinations. Of course! I don't go to that Vet. When I demanded to see the records I brought in, they acknowledged that he was up to date & never apologized. Then they said he needs blood work. Again, I attempted to refocus, stating I am here for an ear infection. Clearly, they were trying to make money on the new dog that day. And when they heard his owner has allergies they figured the owner would be sympathetic to have their dog treated for the same. Incidentally, that bandana. The bandana that I a Professional Nurse thought was aromatherapy....had pheronomes on it. And my dog got raped, and physically assaulted 3 times before I could get him out of the Paw Park a few days later. When I called, and asked what specifically was on the bandana, and shared our experience at the Paw Park-the tech laughed! read more

These people pray on desperate pet owners. I brought my dog there in a panic. Told them I think she has parvo. They did every test known to mankind except a fecal test. You know, the test that tests for parvo. After spending over $900 there I take her home. The next day I took her somewhere else and they tried to scam me too. By the 4th day I took her to another place and guess what? Its parvo!!!!! After spending a grand total of $3744.00 all together, I had to put her down. I lost my friend and family member because this place wouldn't do a simple fecal test!!! They don't care about your pet, they just want your money!! If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

This is by far the best veterinary hospital any of my pets have been to. My bunny and I let the staff know how much we appreciate their work with a personalized Easter card last year. This place is THE PLACE if you have a rabbit. My bunny got her spay 2 years ago ($360 but worth every dollar). I brought her in around 8am and got her back at 3pm. I was awfully nervous and stayed there the entire time because rabbit spays are more complicated that cat and dog spays. My former rabbit of 8 years died in a Long Island animal hospital so I was thoroughly traumatized and could not relax. The vet techs understood where I was coming from and kept me updated on her status. One of them showed me my drugged up hazy bunny after she woke from the anesthesia. Pretty cute. Thanks Dr. Adamcak! I brought my bunny back a year later because she had an abscess on her bottom right lip. Dr. Jennifer and a male vet tech were great with her and let me watch the drainage procedure. I was able to clean and drain the wound on my own after seeing it done. I had some questions so I called back the next day and Dr. Adamcak spoke with me to address them. She told me the best case (sterile abscess) and the worst case (surgery). Dr. Adamcak took a look at my bunny during the follow up and it turned out to have been a sterile abscess and everything was gone. We kept my bunny on antibiotics a week longer just to be safe. Made an appointment for my cat through their pet portal. A week or so before that I called to confirm the appointment. The lady couldn't find my appointment, even did a day by day search. So I said ok let me make an appointment now. Went to my appointment and was charged for a no show fee for the appointment through the portal. When I called the place to dispute it, the lady told me they can't see appointments made on the portal. So how do they know how many appointments they have if they can't see. Just play by ear? It just sounds outrageous that their portal is disconnected from their system. Not worth coming to this place anymore. read more

Excellence in veterinary care! I have been with All Creatures since they opened and Dr Jim Albert cared for my bullmastiff and for the last 6.5 years, my boxer. He goes above and beyond for my dog, researching latest guidelines and recommendations for treatment, allows me to message him outside hours if something goes amok or my dog appears ill. Dr Albert saved my boxers life a few years back when he had pancreatitis. The vet techs and staff are wonderful too. In fact one of the vet techs took my boxer home with her when I had to travel for work and he needed 24 hour care for his pancreatitis. Dr Albert is a master surgeon, has more compassion for his patients than any vet I have encountered. He has significant knowledge and specializes in boxer breed issues. I highly recommend this practice for all of your veterinary needs. read more

All the vets and technicians here are caring and professional. They know their exotics! They treat each animal with compassion and tenderness. They know these are family members. I received a card and plaster imprint of my ratty boy's paw after he had passed. They are very reasonable when going for annual visits, I have two " gpigs " as they call guinea pigs. They sent reminders for their check ups, see both together and it was less than $55 per pig. They love seeing my little guys and put a pic of them on their FB page.. read more

We had 3 rescue dogs and started going to All Creatures about a year ago. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Albert, the other Vets, and the staff there. I've also gone to City Creatures (sister clinic) in Buffalo. Both offices have a clean, inviting environment and they treat our pets with respect and kindness at each visit. We have gone there for dental surgery, ear infections, and accupunture for our Lab for arthritis in her hips. Dr. Albert treats our pets the same way that he would treat his own. He discusses options and tells us truly what he thinks is going on with the pet. We just lost one of dogs several days ago. Although we are very sad, I'm comforted to know that since we switched to All Creatures, my little guy had the best care ever! read more

I saw Dr Albert today with my one year old puppy. She is having a problem with intense scratching and a poor hair coat. He was so patient and kind. He answered all my questions and didn't make me feel like a numbskull for asking them. He didn't come off as arrogant at all, which is part of the problem I was having with my current (former) vet. He offered several solutions and between the two of us picked one that made the most sense and fit my budget. The staff that took my phone call and the vet tech who helped me (I'm sorry I don't remember their names) were also fantastic. They were polite, professional and knowledgeable. Okay, I love animals. I LOVE going to the vet...for the most part. But growing up, cats and dogs only went to the vet. Little critters you took care of the best you could and what happens, happens. Well, now that I am grown up (and have my own means of caring for them)... my little guys can't suffer if something isn't right! This place was recommended by a few friends for exotics. I am extremely loyal to my dog's vet, but as far as I know, they don't do reptiles, so All Creatures it is! My overall opinion of the place is very friendly and clean. They have a nice waiting area that is separated into two sections. I liked that because I figured if there were a few dogs around and one was a bit hyper, someone could just move to the other side of the wall. The exam room was just as clean and efficiant. My leopard gecko, Penelope, has been dramatically losing weight (that is the super short version of the story)... and despite my best efforts and research, I felt as though it was time to see the professional. I already felt super bad because I was slammed on some facebook groups for her condition, but my vet at All Care really eased my troubles. She assured me that I had been doing all the right things (short of the last step of seeing her), and that it sounded like I was seeing some improvement (Which I was, a little, but I wanted to cover all her bases). They did a test to check for parasites (just in case) and they gave her a boost of vitamins as well as some great advice and liquid calcium to help Penelope stay of the right track. I should be getting back the one test results tomorrow, but hopefully we are on our way to getting back to normal. The staff and Dr. Zagst were all wonderful, super friendly, and PATIENT. I am sure I could have come up with a million more questions to ask Dr. Z - seeing as I pretty much want to know everything I possibly can about my animals... and all animals - but I appreciated all the time and explanations she gave me and the care she gave to Penelope. I will still stick with my one vet for my dogs, but as far as my "little critters" go, I will definitely continue to come here and would gladly recommend to anyone searching for an exotic vet. read more

My dog hurt his leg after getting it stuck in the fence I took him to the GBVS because it was on a Sunday they didn't think it was broken but told me if he didn't start putting weight on it in a week while being on the pain killers I had to take him to get it looked at. So I called All Creatures my normal vet and let them know what was happening. They told me it would be around $250, $200 for an X-ray and $50 for the exam. Now when I went in the estimate was $450+ but I didn't think I had an option. Turns out $70 more to send the X-ray to a radiologist because they didn't know enough about dogs legs to draw a conclusion, and $40 to put a $2 bandage around it. Outcome they call n tell me to take him to a third vet, why did I pay you $150 to take the X-ray & send it to an expert then call n tell me where you should of told me to go in the first place. This experience made me feel extremely taken advantage of, they knew they couldn't read the X-ray or do anything about it when I called but they needed to get that $150 out of me instead of saying if there is a problem with his leg you'll need to see so and so. read more

i love this vet! a few years back, i rescued a rex albino rabbit from a flea market on a sunday afternoon. he was caked in dried feces and he needed immediate grooming (and i figured he would need medication as well). that monday, i called and got him in. the staff were all extremely nice and were very gentile with handling him and grooming him. fantastic place with staff who are very friendly and very helpful read more

I am quite disappointed in the services rendered for my poor puppy. I have been with this vet for 4 years and my dog has never known another vet place. I was slightly annoyed at my dogs annual exam as his regular vet that has known and watched my dog grow was no longer part of the business and no one felt that it was a good idea to communicate that prior to my visit. Continuity is a big deal for me as that is how trust is built and comfort is shown. However, I let it go because this office hasn't given me any reason to doubt their ability to treat my dog well. Well, that changed last week. I've never really had a "sick dog" experience, so this was a first. My husband had taken the dog in and saw Dr. Albert, who literally did NOTHING but guess at what the issue is and didn't even give a diagnosis ..... Yet put my little dog on 3 different medications. We crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Then, as symptoms were not improving and the mass on my dog was getting BIGGER we attempted to discuss with the vet about a possible bot fly because some photos online did look identical? Cause he's been on the meds for 3-4 days at this point and NO improvement. Now, I'm not a professional by any means, but I really wanted some answers for my poor pup. When discussing this with Dr. Albert, he was very dismissive and basically flaunted his "30yrs of experience" and made us feel stupid for asking such a thing.... So we continued the meds and just kept hoping for the best.... Well at day 5 going into 6, I had called because as we near the end of the medicine and still not even a slight improvement, I became very worried. The receptionist told me there was no doctor available as it was pretty much the end of the business day, I slightly understood because it was around 4:30 on a Friday. I had asked when he would be in next and she told me that he would be in on Saturday and she would put it down on his workload to call me..... Not a word. I've attempted to call this Dr about 3 times altogether with no responses. I'm a concerned dog mom and just want my little guy better. There is nothing wrong with that. I don't understand why my dog basically got ignored regarding this.... As the office had no problem charging me 130 dollars on Monday..... For literally nothing but 3 medications..... I'm appalled that this office is not compassionate enough to get back to someone in a timely fashion. Even if the Dr is stuck in surgery, it wouldn't be too much to ask for the receptionist to pick up the phone.... As that is literally their whole job..... The fact we were made to be felt like an inconvenience and not a priority of any sort has bothered me enough to take my dog elsewhere. We will not be returning as a patient and I hope it was worth it because I am so disappointed to have to try to find another vet to trust. I cannot believe an urgent care vet cared more about my dog when they have never met him before over the vet who has known my dog for 4 years. It's a real shame. I want my money back because I don't think this place deserves it. read more

Was very disappointed with our visit. Brought our guinea pig in because he wasn't eating, and we were told that his teeth have grown to long and this is why he is not eating. They suggest his teeth to be cut down so he could eat. So we agreed, they put him to sleep and did the procedure. They said this would take 20 minutes. Well 2 hours and 20 minutes later, we could finally pick him up, Saturday afternoon. He passed away today Monday. Lesson learned here...ask lot's of questions, this was a expensive visit , to try and help this poor Animal. Who just ended up passing away. Very sad and will not return to this Animal Hospital ever again! read more

Best I have found in town! All of the staff, from the front desk to the techs. and the vet (Dr. Albert), have been just wonderful to us. It's a shame that so many 'other' places jerk you around with unnecessary 'procedures',meds, and shots. We brought our sick (terminal) cat here after getting no straight answers from our previous vet. They were so helpful in making him comfortable in his final weeks and were very supportive when it was time to let him go. Not to mention the VERY thoughtful paw prints and sympathy card we received in the mail after. It is clear that they care about the pets and the pet parents equally and are not just trying to collect an extra buck.The atmosphere is very peaceful and clean too. My husband took our dog her for a checkup on a limp. He arrived at 9:35 am, only customer in the place and was put into a tiny room that someones pet had thrown up in. He had to go ask to be moved to another room. Then he waited over 40 minutes for the Dr. No apology and no bedside manner. We've been going here for over 10 years and while I love Dr. Albert your chances of seeing him are slim. Time to look for a new vet. read more

Dr. Pan is a TERRIBLE vet who doesn't care about you or your pets! We had been customers at All Creatures for over ten years and were disgusted at the way they treated us and our pet. Our dog had an emergency and they were to busy to see her so we brought her to the emergency vet. We then were waiting for them to open on Monday so we could get her in for surgery.We were trying to save our dog!! I called them when they opened and no one could give me any advice,it took Dr. Pan 8 hours to even call us back!! By then we were at Millersport Small Animal Clinic where they answered all of our questions and charged us HALF the price All Creatures had quoted us for one surgery,our dog had two surgeries. Our dog almost had to be put down due to the lack of concern from our vet and their staff. Thank goodness we were referred to Millersport where the vets actually care about animals. Dr. Pan never even bothered to call us back after we left a message that our dog would be getting surgery elsewhere.Even her RX's cost us half of what All Creatures charged us! Avoid this place like the plague! read more
