Caring staff and thorough explanations - didn't feel rushed. The staff really care about their patients.

Let me start out by saying the ENTIRE staff at All Creatures are so warm and loving to all pets that visit. They really treat your pets with kindness and love. Dr Miccio saved my dog's life. He suddenly ruptured a mass on his spleen and was told twice by two separate hospitals that he more than likely had cancer and would pass away shortly even with surgery if it was cancerous. We were heartbroken thinking we were spending our last moments with our baby. Dr Miccio has been his primary vet for some time now and spoke life back into the situation, my dog and my family. She gave us realistic hope again. She explained the risks and the realities if it was cancer once the spleen was removed and biopsied. Long story short, HE IS CANCER FREE. Dr Miccio is godsend and truly is a healthcare professional because she cares about the health of her patients. I am forever grateful to Dr Miccio and the whole staff that helped my baby recover and be given a chance at more life when others were ready to bury him. I am interested what happened with my review if it was possibly taken down by management and ownership here let me just start saying this if you want to decide to use a normal company that can provide medical care for your pet. This is the last place where I would put my pet in I'll tell you exactly why Included in the services. They have a groomer that's in the same building who I used to sell my dog there after a few times I sent my puppy there. The groomer decided to shave of my dog without my consent and we're talking about a beautiful dog that had long straight gorgeous, thick, long hair And they charge me around $175 but besides for that it took months for my dogs here to grow and I was just so upset. I put a bad review on here and guess what they took me off as a customer because they didn't like that I put a bad review a place I can't call you to make amends and apologize. How do you think they're gonna take care of your dog over here they call me neuter your dog and tell me what to do with my dog. They don't know how to let you live and I feel that it's so inappropriate when doctors get involved in telling you to cut the testicles off your dogwhen it's not their dog for them it's so easy just do surgery. Why not make another dollar let's do it to all the dogs stay away from this place a bunch of rookies that have no experience. read more

Alot of people do not understand the volume of appointments backed up due to covid puppies and people who haven't been able to see a vet. With that being said, they were accommodating and scheduled me the soonest available appointment. Such caring and wonderful people work here. They were attentive and truly cared about my dog Emma. Prices were way more than fair. The doctor was great, her assistant was great, the receptionists were great. Best experience I've ever had at a vet! I look forward to our follow up visit. We used this vet for well over a decade and were ALWAYS happy with how we (and our dog) were treated by them. Then something happened . . . our regular vet, Dr Miccio, was gone and (maybe) new management came in . . . but they have become inefficient. They kept me sitting in my car for over a half hour WAITING for them to come and get my dog just to start. I called 3 times and was told they would be right out. They never showed up so I left . . . then my phone rang and it was some assistant and I told her I had left but if they were ready now, I would turn around since I was only 30 seconds away. She said yes so I returned and then she started asking me questions about my dog that indicated she had NO IDEA why we were there, or the results of our last visit (only a month ago). In my opinion, they are INCOMPETENT and I won't be going back. read more

I was a new patient with All Creatures and I scheduled an appointment for my kitten. My appointment was on a Monday, at 3:30. I was away for the weekend and woke up Monday (the day of the appointment) with a severe headache and not feeling well at all. I ended up falling asleep and woke up at 5 pm only to realize I missed my appointment. I immediately called and explained what happened and they were fine, saying not to worry, and rescheduled my appointment. A few weeks later I received a bill for $50.00 for a "no show" fee. I called and spoke to the office manager who refused to reverse the charge and was completely rude. Now anytime I ask someone who their Vet is and I mentioned All Creatures, I hear quite often..."I used to go there but they nickled and dimed me for everything." I was only able to take my dog here three times, all within less than a week. Unfortunately she had to be put to sleep due to the severity of her illness. I wish I had brought her here years ago. All creatures staff was so comforting and understanding. What made them stand out more is that they seem to remember you and your pet. I've been going to another vet for 10 years prior, and they have a blank stare each time. They also dismissed the issues my dog was having. All Creatures showed concern for my pet and when we had to put her to sleep, the staff was patient and solemn- as if they too knew my dog on a personal level. A week later I received a card in the mail with a personalized letter- including words of comfort. It was so thoughtful- which is a mark that most vets miss. This place clearly goes above and beyond. If ever we get another dog again- I will bring he or she here from the very start. read more

I had a 4:00 pm appointment I was early, my dog was very anxious so the assistant comes out to get me and the dog and already i notice the assistant had a attitude. We were brought into the examination room and said that my dog was there for vaccinations and i responded no i'm not, I'm here for nexgard for the dog and she left the room in a huff. Well i sat in the examination room for a half hour with my dog who was getting more anxious by the minute and no one coming in to say they will be delayed or there was an emergency. This is an excellent practice. I have been taking my two Holland Lop rabbits to All Creatures since they were baby bunnies (three years now). Dr. Lerman & Dr. Miccio are great with my rabbits - they are gentle with them, clearly know a lot about rabbits' unique needs and take the time to give explanations or demonstrate everything from how to clip nails to administering medication. Everyone - from the receptionist to the vet tech to the vets themselves clearly care about animals. The office is very spacious, nice and clean. I brought one of my rabbits in yesterday for snuffles (sneezing & runny nose) and he was not thrilled about being brought to the vet. The vet tech was great at handling him to keep him as calm as possible. Dr. Miccio checked him thoroughly and prescribed medication to make sure he gets better. She took the appropriate amount of time with my rabbit for the situation and was not rushing through to get to another patient. The total fee was $91 - $71 for the office visit and $20 for the medication. I was not charged extra to have the rabbit's earwax checked for mites which I appreciated. I have VPI pet insurance to reimburse some of the cost. The fact is that medical care - whether for animals or humans - takes expensive training. Given the nature of the services provided I feel the fees are reasonable. This is one area where to me cutting corners just isn't worth it. I took one star off for the amount of time it took the vet to see us. However to the practice's credit, the vet tech checked in on us frequently to give updates and apologize for the delay. read more

I travel over an hour to use this vet for my family of rabbits - and the trip is well worth it. The staff is lovely - from the receptionists to the techs to all of the vets. They know bunnies which is really important! I've been through four spaying/neuters with them and every one has been without complications. They handle my one rabbit's dental problems with great care and ease. I have four, happy, healthy buns all thanks to their great vet care at All Creatures. I cannot recommend this vet enough. read more

Good dental care for our dachshund The vets at All Creatures Great and Small let me know that canine dental disease can turn into serious health problems later in life. For that reason, I brought my dachshund pup in for his annual dental exam and cleaning. Wow has this practice fallen HARD. When they were located in Monsey the office was wonderful! Now that they've been in their new Pomona location things have changed drastically. The pricing went from extremely fair to way inflated. It seems they have a revolving door policy with many vets as I rarely see the same face twice. Let me get specific: Dr. Mark Lerman (the owner) is a wonderful man. Smart, excellent with animals and in general a good man but I don't know if the cost of the still fairly new facility pushed that to the edge or the cost of more vets on staff has. Upon a recent trip for a simple steroid shot for my cat (who was diagnosed by Lerman over 5yrs ago as being asthmatic) I saw yet another new vet. She not only questioned the validity of the diagnosis but I was told my cat would not receive her regular shot unless I shelled out over $400 for testing. After 5 years of working treatment? Really? It used to be you could refuse anything the vets suggested as long as you were aware they weren't responsible for the ramifications but now I'm told basically its $400 or my cat has an asthma attack and dies? It was NEVER this way before. I totally understand an office visit charge for check ups, when my pets aren't feeling well or injured but now they also tack on office charges for simple routine things like clipping nails. Again, this was not the way things went at their former location. The new vet also informed me that since I couldn't recall off the top of my head the exact date for my dogs rabies vaccine that the county would take away my dog for a year. She made it sound almost like a threat (no I'm not exaggerating) and I have never been spoken to like that by either Dr. Lerman or Dr. Miccio (his long time vet and also an excellent person). I understand the economy changes and they must make a profit, but it seems some of the newer vets are "bullying" some clients into unwanted and even unnecessary treatments and testing. I just want to stress that Dr. Lerman and Dr. Miccio are excellent vets with decades of experience and a real sense of loyalty to their (especially long time) clients, but I do fear that the practice that once served its many clients with a kind heart, fair prices, flexible payment options and the utmost compassion has become a money pit. I much rather go back to their little office in Monsey with the wooden benches and small exam rooms then pay A LOT more to be pressured into things in a big shiny building. If your animal is ill or in need of care this IS the place to go BUT please ask to be seen only by Lerman or Miccio (pronounced Mish-E-O) as I feel they are the only ones there that do not treat you like a fool or negligent owner and will work with you financially. read more

All creatures Great and Small Animal Hospital overall has a great atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I loves the design of the Hospital and how clean everything was. Dr. Miccio was amazing with my puppy, he loved her and his attitude completely changed from scared to happy from when we got there to when he met her. She was also super helpful with all questions we had and gave great advice. I really liked the fact that she let us take our time and went into detail with everything. Did not feel rushed! She truly cared for my Pup Skyler. You can see her love for her job and animals. I myself was super nervous about so many things since this is my first pet and she completely calmed my nervous and put me at ease. I Recommend All Creatures Great and Small to everyone. I have been going to All Creatures since 1985. I would follow Dr. Lerman to the ends of the earth. He is knowledgeable, compassionate and I trust him to do what is best for my family. He has saved the lives of numerous family members and he has held my hand through difficult times. He always makes sure that I understand the situation and any options I may have and walks me through any decisions that need to be made. Although the prices seem higher since they moved to the new facility on Quaker Road, the quality of care remains excellent and the facility is super clean. A special acknowledgement to Dr. Baritz who helped us though the decision to put our elderly cancer-ridden cat to sleep. She was clear, kind, compassionate and professional. We've been with this group almost two decades spanning 4 of our four legged children. Not only do we consider our dogs our kids...they do too, at "All Creatures", that's what keeps us coming back. Compassion and caring for our dogs AND us! The receptionist is TOPS and many times we just solve our problems there, lol. The Vets and staff are great, of course there are our Extra favorites as well as the dogs choices, who really know how to pick exceptional human peoples. PS: As far as the complaint I read, wake up buttercup, you can REQUEST which Vet you wish to see, DUHH. You may have to wait till that Doctor is working but it beats the heck out of WHINING. read more

Dr. Lerman and Dr. Miccio are both excellent vets. They have taken such good care of both of my cocker spaniels. We went through two other vet. clinics, when we moved to the area, before finding All Creatures and couldn't be happier now. Their fees for office visits and procedures are VERY reasonable, as are their prices for medicines. Dr. Lerman is wonderful with animals - very gentle and soft with them. Their office staff is always so friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things. Definitely the best clinic in Rockland County. read more

Dr Miccio has been caring for my dogs for 30 years; I have total confidence in her. The facility is immaculately clean and the entire staff is genuinely interested in my pet's well being. The hospital's capability is always evolving with state-of-the-art features to advance treatment and ultimately improve care for the animals. Over the years I have used several vets in the area, and this practice is by far my favorite. From the receptionists to the assistants to the vets, all are caring and helpful. I have no trouble getting a fast appointment whenever needed. This morning I just showed up from the vet emergency clinic and they quickly got me and my rabbit settled. I think their care plans reflect good medicine without unnecessary tests and procedures. The explanations are clear and unhurried. And I like how they are upfront about discussing costs of treatment. I understand that costs of veterinary care are high, but I think this practice does the best they can to make quality care as affordable as possible. read more

This place used to be great, but all new vets who are young and inexperienced and way overpriced compared to other places in Rockland. They ended up costing me almost $1000 for mistreating a wound when it should have been taken care of with one stitch. Had to pay $66 every three days to change bandage and Dr. Rachleff kept putting the bandage on ineffectively so it fell off after a day (didn't fall off when Geary did it) Also told me to bring my dog to emergency care instead of waiting a day and emergency care said I could have waited. Dr. Miccio is the only doctor there worth seeing, I would avoid the others as they seem very inexperienced. read more

My experience here was horrible. They charged me $220 for less than 30 minutes of my time. Doctor Christina Michio tried to drain every single penny she could out of me. My cat had a small wound on her neck from itching it and they made a very big deal out of it. She managed to juice up all I had. At the most I thought it would cost $125. I recommend you call Hi-Tor animal shelter here in Pomona and they will tell you which veterinary practice is less expensive and good. The Doctor here suggested many things to us which would help ease her work. For instance, she asked us if she we gave her permission to cut my cats nails so she would not be able to scratch at the wound. She asked in a way that made you feel that you are helping them to make their life easier. She said it in a demanding manner. It is indescribable but all you need to know is that it works and leads you to paying much more than is necessary. Without telling us there was going to be a fee, she charged $22 for cutting my cat's nails. I get my cat's nails cut for $4 from Petco. They took $15 for cutting some hair on the cats neck area so she could examine the wound more accurately, $67 just for making an appointment and coming to see her, $22 for the dressing, $50 for the Convenia Injection, $26 for Depomedrol, and $16 for applying Frontline which I thought was the only thing fairly priced. The last time I came the receptionist gave me a bit of a discount because I was jobless. However now when I asked the receptionist if she could give me a discount she gave me an attitude and told me that the owner Mark Lerman feels his prices are very fair. The practice has definitely fallen in terms of customer loyalty. Well of course he does, he's the one making the money. She didn't even try asking the man. She charged for every little thing. It was just ridiculous. I am never coming here again! Not worth the money. read more

I switched here from another local practice in Valley Cottage NY 4 years ago. The vet techs and vets have been caring for my 5 cats and 3 dogs ever since. I have found Dr. Lerman compassionate and professional. The front office is spotless and although a trip to the vet is still a stressful experience for my pets I feel that they are better cared for by the employees here. The costs are comparable to other vets in the area and as with anything you have to decide what is a necessary and what is required. They provide you with costs and options and are not pushy. Recently I noticed there has been a vet turnover rate which is very odd and they are not discussing it directly with the clients. I wish they would be more up front with regular clients as it hasn't prevented me from driving 30 minutes for regular check ups, monthly medicine pickup and pet emergencies when needed.
