After being denied from every credit source and this was afterhours we were told that with our dog having a fishing hook stuck inside her gum causing bleeding that we had to take our dog home and in the morning take her to her veterinary clinic to have them remove it!. We had a great experience at All Creatures Emergency Veterinary Hospital. Our dog was having severe diarrhea and vomiting so we brought her in on a Sunday around 11pm When you arrive, you wait in your car and call them to let them know you're there. A staff member comes out with a form for you to fill out & then you wait in your car until they're ready to see your pet. The process was organized and it didn't take nearly as long as we expected. We were finished and heading home by around 1:30am! Our vet tech Bri & the veterinarian, Dr. Renee Case were both incredibly kind, knowledgeable & compassionate. They took great care of our dog, thoroughly explained everything and sent us home with medication to help her recover. If you ever need an emergency vet, I would definitely recommend All Creatures. They provided excellent care and we also found their pricing to be very reasonable especially for an after-hours emergency visit. I also love that they don't try to sell you on additional items as well. It was after hours and my vet was going to be closed the following day but I had grown increasingly concerned that my dog had a UTI. I did not want her in pain so I called All Creatures Emergency Vet and was told I didn't need an appointment, to just show up when I could. It was a 35 minute drive and when I arrived, the door was locked. I knocked but didn't see anyone. After a few minutes, another woman walked up and said "They do this. You gotta bang." She knocked on the door repeatedly until someone came outside. It took a few more minutes. We were put in a room immediately and proceeded to wait about an hour to be seen by the vet tech. To be fair, a dog that had been hit by car came in after we were in the room. From what we heard it was already deceased. Then, a woman brought in a her friend's dog she was supposed to be caring for and told the staff she wasn't sure if it was breathing. Based on what they said, that dog was also deceased. The vet tech was not very personable and she took our dogs temperature rectally but with zero skill and after what seemed like 5 minutes, was finally done. It was not a good experience. After we spoke to the tech, we asked for water for our dog, which was brought and waited another 15 min or so for the vet. Dr. Case took a look at our dog and I explained I was concerned about a UTI and gave her history of bladder stone removal and kidney issues. I also asked her to look at a bump on my dogs leg, since we were already there and at my dogs advanced age I am always worried about her cancer returning. The estimate for X-rays for that was well over $400 so I said I would have my regular vet do it on my next visit the following week. Without the x-rays for the bump, the estimate was $520 for the emergency exam, urinalysis, and medication if needed. We agreed and the vet tech came back in (I thought to get our dog for tests) and told us that we would need to pay up front before they would start the process. I have never experienced that before but we gave her a credit card to charge. Once she did that, she returned and took our dog back to extract urine. I went to the restroom shortly thereafter and there was a man at the desk with his dog. The same vet tech was giving him an estimate and, right in front of me said, "Don't worry, you can wait to pay until everything is done." Look, I get that this is Stockton and although I was surprised by the pay first attitude, I can't say I didn't understand. Every business has the right to decide if they want people to prepay or pay after, but to pick and chose with seemingly no reason or standard is totally unprofessional. Also, just a note, but if you read through most of the reviews, as I had time to do during my long wait, you will see that most of the 5 stars are from people whose animals were euthanized here and most of the 1 stars are from people who brought in their sick animals looking for help. Our dog was brought back promptly and we waited another hour before the vet returned. She said there was bacteria in my dogs urine and they gave us antibiotics but they did not have the correct dosage for my small dog so they gave me large pills (with no break line) and said to cut them in half myself and give them to my dog. Of course I was concerned that when I broke the pills, small pieces would scatter and she would not be getting the full dose which obviously happened. After the first few days we noticed that our dog was getting no relief from the antibiotics and scheduled the first available appointment with our regular vet. When she completed the full course, I emailed All Creatures Emergency Vet to confirm that they had found bacteria and ask if they tested to ensure they gave the correct antibiotics because it had not helped. It took them 3 days to respond. The response was that I should get a "urinalysis with culture and sensitivity sent to the laboratory...Or maybe there is no infection and she has cystitis." We saw our regular vet and she is now doing much better after weeks of being uncomfortable. Long story short: We spent 3 hours and over $500 for our dog not to feel better. read more

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the care my family and I received during one of the most difficult moments we've ever experienced--having to say goodbye to our beloved cat, Chloe. We brought our 16 year old Chloe in after she had been diagnosed with a blood clot in her right back leg, and we made the heartbreaking decision to have her euthanized to prevent further suffering. We expected compassion, gentleness, and basic empathy during this process. Unfortunately, what we experienced was the complete opposite. The veterinarian, Dr. Wishner who attended to Chloe showed no compassion or sensitivity. His handling of her was rough and lacked the care and dignity that any animal--especially one in her final moments--deserves. It was incredibly upsetting to witness, and it added unnecessary trauma to an already devastating situation. However, I do want to acknowledge that the veterinary technician, Brie, was very kind and caring. Her compassion did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciated her support during such a difficult time. This experience overall was not just disappointing--it was unacceptable. No pet owner should have to endure such a cold and careless experience when saying goodbye to a cherished member of their family. Brought my dog in on Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend due to bloody diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy etc. We were given onboarding paperwork almost immediately and were seen fairly quickly. I didn't catch all of the staff's name, but Heather and Dr. Case were very professional, compassionate and reassuring. My dog was examined, given bloodwork, and a pancreatitis test all on site and was able to get a diagnosis quickly. They gave us inpatient and outpatient options for the treatment of our dog. Overall costly, but generally fairly priced considering it's an emergency vet. I also want to note, the staff had to put down an animal for a family. Dr case and the assistant were very professional and compassionate during and after the whole ordeal. They helped us afterward and didn't skip a beat. We thought we were going to potentially lose our boy that night, and very well could have, had it not been for this establishment. Worth every penny. Thank you guys! read more

I am beyond pissed my baby passed away June 14th 2026. I was told that his cremation would take 2 to 3 weeks by July 10th 2026 I finally called just to find out that my baby had been sitting on a shelf since June 21st 2026 and no one called me. I was told that the receptionist Christina is in charge of making calls. I never received a voicemail a missed call nothing. And to make matters worse there was a secondary phone number that they never called! Coming from someone that has never had to deal with a pet loss. Went here on a Saturday. Our 6 year old boxer acted really strange Friday night. Then Saturday morning started to run in from outside and just froze up and could hardly walk. Dr. Case listened to our remarks and we went for xray to check her out. Found out Violet has spinal damage and a slight heart condition. Felt really good they have an xray specialist look at xray. We gave Violet pain medication for her back and next day a new dog. Great team here and took time to explain all findings. Cost was not super expensive for emergency clinic. I went in at 11pm last night, and although I understand they can't help the wait time, it took them 3 hours to get to me. By the time we got in they didn't even look at my dogs cyst on her leg that ruptured, she just said the only option is to amputate her leg since it's too big and will cut off her circulation at some point. About 2 months or so ago i witnessed a kitten get ran over. I rushed to this vet only to get turned away "because i have to call non emergency since it didnt happen in Stockton " so this kitten (which was alive and in very much pain) had to suffer for 40 mins as i drove from where it happened to the vet BACK to where it happened and wait another 20 mins for the police ONLY FOR THE POLICE TO COME RIGHT BACK HERE. As a person who has a soft spot for animals, how could you turn away an injured animal? If the animal was already dead TAKE IT FROM ME. The other experience. Took my dog as i was concerned for her being. Once again only vet open. I was there from 6 IN THE MORNING until 5 AT NIGHT only for them to give my dog a shot and meds to take daily until better. No where in between came to check up on me. Didnt let me know what they were doing. I went to the front desk.... No one there. Went back to the room as my dog was still in there. I didnt leave as i was expecting the doctor any min or so i thought. Overall this vet is a SCAM. Its so expensive for SHITTY PEOPLE and SERVICE. Dont take your animal here unless you rich. Our Kiva collapsed on a Saturday night and we're not able to get up. We took him to this place to get him checked. This was the only place that doesn't really have a very long wait to be seen.When you get to this place you have to give them a call so they can check you in. There's no waiting room inside so you wait outside or in your car and wait to be seen. A vet tech will give you a call and they'll come outside to get your furbaby's info and take them inside to be seen by the doctor. Another waiting game ensued for you to be called in and be in a room with your baby. When we got in the Vet who checked our Kiva came in the room and get more info and from there told us what was wrong physically. We needed to get him xray and get some bloodwork done to get to the bottom of the issue. They told me it takes about an hour for these to be done and get some results. It was a cold, quiet room and the waiting game was very stressful. I have to go and ask the person working on the front desk if they had the results yet because it has been more than an hour since they took the lab works. That vet tech (I didn't get her name) was a bit curt when I asked her if they have any update with my Kiva. She needs to learn compassion to these people trying to get their furbaby's better. Anyway, the results were inevitable. His bones got weaker with bone spurts growing in between his discs that prevented him to get up and walk. It has gotten bad that he eventually lost his ability to get up and walk. The worst part of the results were his liver was in a very bad condition and there's no getting better from it. Dr. Case were so sympathetic while telling us this bad news. She gave us a timetable and had us take home some antibiotics and pain meds. She told us to see his regular Vet to get a full exam and to get an updated answer to our concerns. All in all we were pleased with their service and the Vet tech that took care of Kiva were nice and sympathetic with our situation. It was a tiring, emotional, long day but we went home with some answers. read more

We arrived at about 9pm on a Sunday night. Our 11 year old cat, who was happy and playful an hour before, had something happen to him (so we thought) that should have been quite treatable. We quickly realized something was far worse by the symptoms he began having. He was diagnosed with something AWFUL that we had no prior knowledge of. Euthanizing him was the best and I believe only right choice for him with the prognosis. There is one thing I want to say about our experience at All Creatures. They were kind and extremely patient. We got there during a slower time and right before some other arrivals. They brought us into a room immediately. After whisking our kitty to the oxygen chamber, they gave us all the time we needed with 1) Decision making 2) Time with him before the euthanasia 3) Time with him after he passed on 4) AND even after taking him away to put him into a special bag, they said we could take our time leaving. I've never experienced such a non pressuring and caring environment. I can't say whether they are always that way, but, for what it's worth, I had to share our exceptional experience, and I am so thankful God made it as smooth as possible since we were shocked and devastated to lose our loved one. read more

Last Saturday evening, we rushed here after my 10yr old female corgi suddenly began shaking and had extremely pale gums. We called ahead to inform them of our emergency and our ETA. Upon arrival, we were told that we would be next in line when an exam room opened. We then waited in the car in the parking lot for approximately 2.5 hours. I finally knocked on the door to check on what was taking so long, and we were immediately let into an exam room. Dr. Robert Wishner conducted an exam and then took her back for x-rays and blood work. When he returned to explain the findings, he read through her entire blood workup and waited until the end to inform us that her liver values were dangerously high and that a mass had likely ruptured, causing internal bleeding. He bluntly stated they had no way of knowing the extent of the bleeding and claimed she could be dead within the next 30 minutes. He then referred us to VCA Sacramento (a 45-minute drive) where an ultrasound could provide a clearer prognosis. Despite the urgency of our situation, we then waited another 30 minutes while Dr. Wishner leisurely wrote up a summary of our visit, which we needed to take to the referral vet. During this time, the front desk attendant asked if I had recently changed my dog's diet. I explained that I had, just within the past month, after discussing with my vet the possibility that my dog might be allergic to her current food. We decided to switch her to Purina Pro Plan for sensitive stomachs. The attendant then insisted that Purina Pro Plan had killed three of her own dogs and suggested that it was likely the cause of my dog's current condition. At this point, we had been there for about five hours. My mother, who was with me, asked to use their restroom, but they refused and insisted that she drive 10 minutes down the road to use the restroom at Raising Cane's. Despite her insisting that it was urgent, they still refused, even after we had paid nearly $1,000 for the visit, adding further delays to our already critical situation. Long story short, Dr. Robert Wishner correctly diagnosed my dog with a mass on her liver. However, after many years in the field, it seems he may have lost the ability to show empathy during such a stressful time for pet parents. Everything about our experience here was unnecessarily stressful--from his bedside manner to the attitude and audacity of the vet technicians. For anyone invested in my dog's story, she successfully underwent a lobectomy, and the mass turned out to be benign. She will make a full recovery. While I would return to this location in the case of an emergency, I would not expect to be treated well. read more

ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. To start off with receptionist was RUDE seemed like she was there for a Job. My dog swallowed a mango pit and they did not even take him back to start vitals til almost three and half hours later. (Longer the wait further it travels) Their process there is very cut throat all they cared about was how it was going to be paid never about the pet's care. I honestly believe because of my interaction with the receptionist was the reason my dog not being seen right away. By the time we got into a room and x rays were done the mango had went side ways. Once we had decided we had to do foreign body surgery I even heard one of the Drs ask another Dr if she was looking to do a foreign body surgery she said "No". And come to find out another Dr did the surgery so my belief my dog had to wait for the next Dr to come in to actually do the surgery. SO AGAIN DELAYED TREATMENT. I was told one estimate for the procedure if it was going to be easy and next thing I was told it was the MAX amount because it wasn't easy. But yet the Dr HERSELF said it was easy surgery and came out easily. And AGAIN about payment and charges. There was a lot miss communication I was told one thing then told another. I was told he should be ready to go home by mid morning end up being 5 o'clock in the afternoon. When you start to ask questions to why I was told this or that you're told not sure or I don't know but it was this. Then there was blow out excuse for it like I was crazy for asking. With this experience I am curious to what would have happened if I couldn't afford for my Dog's treatment, would they had sent him home and did nothing to help us. It was an all around traumatic experience. I will say there is couple good assistants who listen to me and heard my concerns but they pretty much said it was out of their control and they were sorry. Our dog had a seizure in the middle of the night which really scared us. We called the emergency line and someone picked up right away and told us to head over. Everyone was helpful and quick despite it being 3AM! Dr. Case was very nice and knowledgeable and eased my anxiety. I was given options and asked the vet if it were her dog what would she do. She gave me an honest answer and did not try and convince me to take the expensive route. Unfortunately our pup became very sick Saturday with nonstop vomiting. We decided to take him in early Sunday morning around 3am where we met Dr. Wishner. He wanted to do blood panel to look for pancreatitis as well as X-rays. Pancreatitis came back negative and X-rays were a possible positive but he needed to wait for the Radiologist to check over them. Sure enough there was a blockage in our dog's small intestine. Since our dog was feeling better with antinausea meds as well as subQ fluids he had us go home and to come back in a few hours when Dr. Case came in. We ended up coming back and spoke to Dr. Case. She explained how she wanted to redo X-rays before opening him up to see if the object had moved. She was very nice and explained her pervious experiences where objects can move on their own so that was the hope! We decided to not keep him there on IVs so she had us give him more subQ fluid to help with his dehydration and sent us home to wait and see if would pass. He was able to hold down water so I was thinking positively when we returned back later in the evening. We did more X-rays and unfortunately the object did not move... so our pup had to have surgery and stay for the night. They let me know when he was going into surgery and a few hours later I called to see how it went. Each time the staff and Dr. Case were so nice, informative and gave me the reassurance I needed. This morning we picked up him and he seemed a lot better than I thought he would be. They did highly recommend, (plus researched/asked a vet friend about) having him go to another vet (since they are closed during the day during the week) to be monitored and given IV fluids throughout the day. They connected us with Walker Vet across the street who were able to squeeze us in. I understand there are mixed reviews but our pets are our children and it can he high emotions when they are involved. Vets and staff work tireless to provide for our fur kids and just know you are not the only emergency occurring. So there can be a lot of waiting but that's to be expected at an emergency vet. Just be kind and patient. If they cannot take you in that that moment they recommend other emergency options. I highly recommend this emergency vet if you come to unfortunately circumstances with your pet! The staff cares a lot, are informative and seems to not try to nickel and dime you for everything like I have seen some vets get like. Heck since surgery didn't take as long as expected they even gave me a refund. Hopefully his recovery goes smoothly as these are the critical days post-op from this type of surgery. So positive prayers needed! P.S. if you have a problem child that seems to swollen foreign objects like a piece of a rubber toy, it's probably a good idea to get pet insurance! Absolute unprofessionalism and complete lack of empathy on behalf of the physician and most of the techs that were on shift that night; a rude, money-first operation. The "veterinarian" didn't even verify if the IV line was in the vein before injecting medication (it was not). Absolute incompetence and disregard (no apology or regret, just left the room). Unbelievable and abhorrent. And you still have to wait outside, even though Covid precautions have been lifted eons ago (smh). Clearly, All Creatures forgot that they are in a "service" industry. Sloppy, substandard, lazy. Shameful attitudes, zero respect for their "patients" and paying customers. No professional leadership whatsoever so the tone is clearly set from the physician on down.
