I'm so glad that I searched for a phone repair business instead of automatically assuming I need to buy a new phone. I read the reviews and decided to try this highly rated store that was so convenient to public transportation-they absolutely saved me! I desperately needed to extend the life of my 6s+ another six months even though I shattered my screen and damaged the LCD underneath. I have brought my iPhone in to their store twice now within less than a year's time because I had dropped my phone and cracked the screen. Each of these times they quoted me a fair price, with a small discount for paying all in cash, applied a screen protector also at a discount, and were quick in these repairs and fixing dents in the phone to make sure the screen protector would lay flat and fit on the screen. I'm a little old lady in my 70s, and I'm used to being ignored, cheated, and treated with condescension by people who are knowledgeable about technology, but Jenny at ifixit made me feel welcome and competent. I went there to have my son's phone fixed after a swelling battery started to push his screen out. I got several estimates all much more expensive and including things Marcus assured me weren't really necessary at all. They did the repair right in front of me! It was amazing to watch the whole process. He installed this great glass screen protector for just $10 with the repair and even threw in one in for my phone as well. This is tough, because I still love the all around customer service that these guys offer (solid 5 stars for sure). Unfortunately, the iPhone replacement screens just don't last! For weeks after my initial screen replacement, I noticed an odd 'spring' like quality of my touch screen when operating the phone, but I always attributed it to the new screen protector that iFix guys also installed for me. One day (maybe a month or two after the original service), by phone split right open. I called iFix right away and they said it must have been faulty glue; replaced it right away at no charge. Now, just a few months later, I am having the same "loose" feeling issues in my device. Any time I take my iPhone out of its OtterBox case, the front glass portion starts to open up from the metal sides. Frustrating quality issue to say the least. I've also had various glitchy issues with my touch screen registering all kinds of erroneous touches while I'm on the phone, but I don't think I can fault these guys for that... I was hoping to prolong the life of my phone, but right now I'm barely hanging on for my next available upgrade. read more

Marcus at iFix Cell Phone is the best!!! After my perfume roller shattered in my clutch and spilled perfume all over my iPhone 6, my screen had an awful looking paint drip looking tint in between the glass of the phone and the internal workings of the phone. Everything worked fine but it was difficult to see the screen. Even though I showed up just after he locked the doors at closing time, he still let me in and took the time to explain that the putting your phone in rice is a myth and why it was important to take your phone in right away. He then took apart the phone to investigate what the damages (liquid stains on each of the LCD sheets that make up the screen) were which was much appreciated after coming back from the Apple store who told me they couldn't do anything and that I should just buy another brand new cell phone, thanks for nothing GeniusBar! Marcus cleaned up each of the sheets and since one sheet had tiny grooves in it, he couldn't get it 100% back to normal so he gave me 50% off the quoted price! What great service! Wow! Every employee in the store was SO nice and helpful. I learned so much about how an iPhone (5 and 5C) are built in 10 minutes. I will start by saying that getting your phone fixed, no matter the issue, is always a stressful experience. I feel like rarely you will spend less than $100 to fix even something you think will be a basic fix. That being said, I went through my phone provider the first time. $200 and the warranty is void (would be max $80 here). It took forever to even file the claim. Not again - I walked into this shop with my boyfriend after work (directly under the Belmont L stop) because he had his screen replaced a week earlier. He was told to keep it out of his back pocket because the 5C has plastic that pushes the screen off. He didnt, so right back we come. They took the phone right away, fixed it, applied a free tempered glass screen protector and handed it back in 10 minutes. Explained what happened and why. One last thing, the employee noticed my screen protector had a bubble in it (DIY job..) He took my phone, cleaned it, and put it back on for free! Just to be nice. NO MORE ANNOYING BUBBLES!! Everyone was so nice in there!! I really recommend coming in here for any of your cellphone repair needs. Also, if you are looking for a dirt cheap older laptop, they have refurbished ones for $300! These guys are wonderful!! I went in there after work when the button on my old iPhone 5c fell off. I expected that I'd have to leave my phone overnight and that it would be an expensive repair, if it could be fixed at all. Not only did they fix it while I waited (probably only 20 minutes or so), but they also cleaned my phone, put on a new screen protector, and gave me a brand new phone case. Dropped my iPhone 5se phone in water (twice) and the front facing camera stopped working. Six weeks later finally decided to try to have it fixed and took it here based on reviews. $85 and under an hour later I have a replacement camera. Plus, after learning I have a scientific background the repairman/wizard showed me the water damage under the microscope and had a really thorough discussion with me about the damage, what to do next time, and the limitations of the repair. None of the mystery or condescension one expects from the apple shop. Hopefully I won't have to return, but would recommend to anyone. read more

This place is awesome. They are friendly, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and conveniently located. And can generally turn fixes around same day from my experience. Note: Cash only. I've been there 3 times now in the past 7 months. Back in May I tripped and smashed my phone to the extent I assumed it would be irreparable. However, I took it to IFix given their convenient location and positive Yelp reviews. And they were able to get it back to working condition. This repair was somewhat pricey but included multiple new part replacements and saved me hundreds of dollars until my contract is up and I can upgrade to an iphone 5. They also included a free case. They completed the repair in a matter of 30 -45 minutes (don't quite recall anymore) and were very timely with the estimate. In November the back of my phone started to pop out. I took it in again and mentioned I had been there before many months ago. The issue was the battery was disintegrating. They replaced it and gave me a discount for having been there before. This was done in a matter of 10 minutes from entering the store to leaving. The battery expanding had caused my rubber case to also fall apart (with help from me) and I proceeded to drop my phone and crack the front screen within the next couple of weeks before getting a new case. The back of my phone again started popping out and I worried I had damaged the battery again from the trauma. Also - in this state it was impossible to put a case on the phone to protect it from further damage. I took it in one more time - they remembered me and took a look. There's a hook missing from the initial damage back in May that if jarred, may cause the back case to disconnect. He reconnected it and I inquired about costs to replace the screen. Given I'm now up for renewal in a few months I chose to wait it out and left that day with no charge. 4 stars rather than 5 because I'm still having some trouble with my phone, but hoping it can hang on for another few months. Insurance on iphones might be worth it! read more

Fantastic service, trustworthy, and skilled! My Google Nexus 5 (LG) phone went into endless reboots and then stopped working. I knew it had a faulty power button. I tried various tricks recommended online, but to no avail. I brought it iFix, conveniently located right next to the Belmont CTA station. Marcus agreed that the power button was faulty and replaced it in 15 minutes. My phone is as good as new. The price was fair. This shop has the right equipment and the technical expertise to fix almost any kind of high-end electronics. You have nothing to lose: They will not charge you if they attempt, but cannot fix your device! Before going here, I called other cell phone repair shops in the area. None would fix my LG phone. Many others will only repair Apple or Samsung products, which I take to mean that they will swap-out parts like boards and screen assemblies; they will not actually diagnose and solder components. At iFix, Marcus took the time to explain what he was doing and gave me tips to make my phone experience better. A past review said that this shop was cash only. They accept credit cards. Take your broken phone or tablet to iFix. You will not be disappointed. I do not often write Yelp reviews. But this place impressed me so much. They need more five-star reviews! read more

This place is great. In December '10 I cracked my screen on my 3gs and walked in and 10 minutes and $65 later I had a new screen and they had put a protector on it as well. The apple store wanted $100. Last Friday I went back because I was having trouble with my screen, some parts of it was non responsive (I brought it to the genius bar first and they wanted another $100 to fix it) I told them I had been there before and they just popped out the old screen and put a new one in completely free of charge. They are friendly, helpful, and great. Hopefully I won't need to go back but I will go to them before I ever go back to the genius bar! read more

I came to the store with pretty much no expectations at all. My phones screen was cracked and I looked online for the cheapest way to fix it. I have the galaxy s 2 for sprint and it was looking to cost me at least $250 for parts and labor. I called up this store and spoke with Marcus. Marcus was the nicest most helpful person I've ever met. He went above and beyond to not only fix my phone as soon as possible, but searched for the cheapest parts from his number of different trustworthy sellers. This place is the best!! These guys are so nice and super fast - I would definitely recommend going here with any cell phone repairs! After I lost my new Samsung Galaxy S6, I decided to visit iFix to repair the cracked screen on my old Samsung Galaxy S4 so I would at least have a phone until I sorted things out with my S6. They only took 40 minutes to replace the screen, then tested the new screen in front of me when I came to pick it back up. During the screen testing, I told them the story of my newly lost S6 and I mentioned buying a new phone case for the S4 to make it feel more like a new phone. They ending up offering me a new speck phone case for $15 and added in a free screen protector as well! It shows that they really care about their customers.
