Why 5 stars? Because this man is fluent in dog…read more --- --- --- We got a new puppy a few months ago, so one of the first things we searched for was a good trainer in the area. Approximately 10 seconds after my initial search, it was very obvious that Scott was the easy decision. He's been collecting reviews for years and virtually all of them are 5-stars. It was a virtual guarantee that we would be happy if we called Scott. So we called Scott. Yes, these services are not cheap. But you get what you pay for and what you pay for here is a human being who speaks dog. Owning a puppy can be the source of unlimited stress, but you can really minimize that stress when you have someone like Scott to help you learn how to tackle all of the issues that pop up along the journey. And honestly, you plan to have a puppy in your life for many years - getting good behavior for potentially a decade+ is not money you are going to regret spending. We purchased the middle-tier package which consisted of 5 visits (4 in home and 1 at a park) + the opportunity to reach out to him whenever we have any future issues and need a bonus session or just some help. Scott came to our house for visit #1, and I will never forget how hard I laughed when he *immediately* transformed our girl from a cracked out puppy to a completely submissive and obedient dog after a simple, two-step action. And his method is never to hurt your dog - this is all done by just mimicking the behavior of an older dog who is teaching a puppy how to behave. Each visit resulted in better and better behavior. As of this writing, our puppy is 5 months old, but we have greatly accelerated her emotional intelligent, far behind her actual age. Our last visit was at a big park that had a dog park and a playground. There were a bunch of kids playing on the playground and they wanted to come say hello and pet our dog. Of course, I forgot all of *my* training and was failing to control her from jumping and being crazy. Scott patiently watched me messing up, and eventually, calmly walked over, took the leash, did his two step command, and just like the first day: POOF, it was like an exorcism. Suddenly, she was calm and submissive, allowing the toddlers to pet her without anymore lunatic behavior. The group of parents literally ooh'd and ahh'd at this marvel. Same experience as Gwen A. He took 3,000 and little to show for. He had two, small crates for small…read moredogs, and I brought two German Shepherds, which one of them was big. I threaten to pull my dogs and then he bought, two large crates, which I paid for. Darryl is a nice man, but some what anti-social. He told me his wife said that of himself. He NEVER initiated any text if the dogs need more food for me to bring, how are they doing, etc. Last day, while performing a brief training for me, both my dogs were very excited. Zeus was desperate to reach me and Darryl Was choking him hard to be still. He pissed me off, but I kept my composure barely! I have no idea where he studies canine behavior but much of it is incorrect. He told me when my female German Shepherd puts he paws on my right leg, she is humping me and trying to dominate me.. She is not. If he paid attention, which he does not, she was looking up to me in total love and beautiful eyes. She is always submissive to me. Another thing he said, because I let me dogs sleep with me, I let them dominate me (dominating position) . I laughed within myself and openly disagreed. Dogs sleep with their human family because they want to protect them, be close with them and love. Where this guy gets his information beats me. He said he will send me an amazon link where he bought the collars, he did not. I have asked him for information about collars and muzzles and he is NOT interested to help. He is NOT at all engaging and probably did little training. Since I got my German Shepherds back, my female still lunges at people walking by and that was the first emphasis. Avoid at all cost. Most K9 trainers are junk and ripoff artist. He trained my dog about an hour each one (at best) and charges 1000 a week for both. I brought all the food (I had to ping him several times) and spend $205.00 for 2 large crates to put my German Shepherds in, not those small, prison crates he had and Gwen A. experienced too. When he did this, it showed he did not care for my dogs and has no compassion. Stupid me to go to him

Darryl told me that he could help so I left my dog in his care. He was suppose to update me in a…read moreweek. He didn't call so I called and he told me my dog didn't care for him. The website gave me the impression that several people would be training. After about two and one half weeks he told me he couldn't help my dog. When I dropped him off he was put in a crate in which he could hardly move around. Darryl told me he would put him in a larger one. When I went to pick him up I wanted to cry he look awful and he has feces on him. He was also very dehydrated and very little of his dog food had been eaten. I think he was left in a too little crate the whole time and not given any water or food. He didn't have his original leash and Darryl said he would mail it to my home. I sent an email and text inquiring about a refund and no response to either and that was not a surprise.

It has been a long time since I've used this kennel, but I have nothing but great memories of…read moretalking with Mr. Schomer, who has helped me with two different dogs I've had over the years. Schomer is located near Conroe. Despite living in Southwest Houston, I felt this kennel was worth the drive for the services I used. The first time I used his services was back in 1998, with my boxer/pitbull mix named Bailey. Bailey was a jackass before introduced to Schomer. I was told it would take about a month, and given the reasonable fee structure at the time. As we approached the end of the month he was there, I got a call with an update from Mr. Schomer who told me about Bailey's progress. While my dog had definitely made some accomplishments, Schomer felt I would be happier if he kept him for another month. This was not a negative thing AT ALL. Read the second sentence of this paragraph again. In fact, Schomer insisted that I come up to see how things were going for myself. We watched from indoors as Schomer brought Bailey out and demonstrated the newly learned behaviors. I was in tears and absolutely amazed. Once Bailey graduated from the program after the second month, he truly was a different dog. He went from being a problem child to being an obedient dog. As a bonus, my smaller dog, Noah (English pointer), had picked up on Bailey's training and began mimicking Bailey. I had very good success walking Bailey and maintaining control around other dogs. Interestingly, Noah did not require a leash moving forward and became an even more amazing dog. Fast forward later in Noah's life to 2012, I had moved to the Woodlands and it became more convenient to use this kennel for boarding. There were some times I was traveling extensively and had turned to Schomer for help. Noah was much older at this time, and Schomer was very helpful in diagnosing an issue for me.
