I went in for a yearly eye exam and 1 pair glasses covered 100% by Medicaid / Masshealth; as shown with a search of offices. Long story short; besides rescheduling, waiting over 45 min; the eye exam was fine; then somehow tried on some contacts she offered; she asked me to read a few letters on the wall; said I'm not sure about getting those. Then she took me to look at frames- I kept asking "I need to see costs and numbers on paper" for the fourth time. - surprise no mass-health covered frames - surprise I was charged $190 for a 'contact lens fitting'! WTF just happened??? then I paid foolishly because I'm partly autistic and panicked. Called back next day explained my disability and only wanted mass-health covered glasses; requested, and was then promised a call back from dr. I: nothing. Feel preyed upon because people can tell Im awkward. $190 is a devastating charge for me. read more

It took me a total of 3 hours and 3 separate visits to get the contacts I needed with a routine eye exam. The delay was caused in large part because the admin assistant did not put down my correct birthdate, which caused issues with my insurance. My eye exam took a total of 10 minutes, where I could tell the eye doctor was very sales driven and strongly suggested I buy dailys.I've had biweekly contacts for over 14 years and never had issues with my eyes, but she said that I need dailys and assured me I would get the lowest rate on the market. She told me I needed to buy glasses and that the Warbys I had were terrible quality (they work just fine). I told them I needed to leave to get back to work but she still brought me over to the glasses salesman and told them I would be buying a pair (I never said I wanted to). When it came to the contacts, it turns out the price she quoted me was 150 less than the actual upfront cost- I needed to file a reimbursement claim to get the actual cost I was quoted. What an absolute rip off. Call to ask for a ball park quote on a single vision, mild rx poly lens. Nothing else. Just to replace the lenses in my current frames that I've owned for a year. Couldn't get them to answer basic question when called. Put on hold. Picked up. Put on hold again. Picked up again. Finally said, I'll call back later. Finally called me back. 8 hours later. Told me that the cheapest replacement would be over $200. Seriously?! I've called 6 other optical locations both mom and pop and big box and none of them came nearly that high. Most were half that price. No thanks. Maybe Cambridge residents have money to burn and will to do so at a location that can't answer simple questions. I'll find someone else that can answer straight forward questions and not require me to get a title loan to do so. read more

Desk staff were not knowledgable about insurance coverage, and were not up-front about surcharges (e.g. extra charge for contacts Rx vs glasses, extra charge if opting out of eye-dilating drops). Felt like I was being scammed. AND at the end of it all, the glasses prescription the doctor gave me was WRONG. I had to go to another eye doctor and get a new prescription since I couldn't see out of the the new glasses I had purchased based on the Rx the All Eye Care doctor gave me. read more

This place is awful. They called me to ask if I could come in earlier. Then they texted me and asked me if I could come in earlier and I told them no. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment they were 30 minuets behind schedule. I was told that I bought a bundle package for both my contacts and glasses and when I arrived for my follow up appointment they told me I had to pay $500 to purchase more contacts. Now they won't stop contacting me both by email and phone to try and make me happy so they don't loose a customer. When I tried to explain to the Doctor what happen she just rambled on and didn't really care about what I had to say. This could have been handled better. read more

Dr. Idrizovic saved my vision!!! Slight exaggeration but it feels like that. Slowly degenerating vision that I was attributing to age or working too much with laptops/tablets Dr. I actually identified as a genetic condition. Where soft contacts had failed me, she fitted me with RGP (rigid gas permeable) lenses, giving me 20/20 vision my prescription lenses couldn't even deliver. Eternally grateful! I went here for a few years. The staff was very nice, they helped me choose glasses that worked for my face and budget. Two years in a row I got a slightly increased prescription but still wasn't able to see distance very well (despite telling my eye doctor about this problem after the first year). At my first visit, the doctor strongly recommended daily contacts, which I was encouraged to purchase through the office. I wish they had been more transparent about pricing and given me a copy of my prescription to make buying from a third party easier. I recently switched to Eye Q in Harvard Square. My new eye doctor gave me a much higher prescription and emailed it immediately. I purchased glasses through Warby Parker and contacts from 1800 Contacts. read more

All Eye Care is incredibly customer friendly, clean, and everyone is so thoughtful and accommodating! I have moved out-of-state and come back for the holidays, and so have limited time when I'm back to get my specialty lenses. Every time, they have been able to prioritize my fittings and accommodating to my tight schedule. Also, I have not sought out another eye clinic or doctor near where I currently live because Dr. Idrizovic is literally the best. She is so detail-oriented and really makes sure that everything she does for me is perfect for what I need. She is overall mindful and accommodating to my needs and very efficient. I have had eye vision issues since childhood and it took finally switching over to her to realize how much better care I needed and even knew existed! My contact lens fitting took an hour and was pretty expensive (this is a "premium" fitting). The follow up was quick but had a 30 minute wait for the doctor who was at the other location. The booking system is extremely unprofessional. Confirmations etc are carried out by manual text with grammar errors. I was also asked to text an image of my insurance card rather than show it in the office and both times I was asked to reschedule my appointment within 24 hours for another time later that day. The doctor was also extremely rushed and gave me contradictory information about my eye health. If you have a job, things to do, and want to feel like you're seeing a professional, this is not the place for you. read more

I am writing this as I sit on hold trying to get my prescription which they should have given to me at my appointment. I had to call using another phone and demand my prescription be emailed immediately. I should have seen the red flags from my 1st encounter with this office. An appointment was made which I was on my way to when they phoned me asking me if I could come another day. Being easy going I obliged. When I arrived to the appointment I was seen right away by the assistant but then waited 40 mins to see the doctor. She in-genuinely apologized and after the exam berated me for ordering glasses anywhere but from an opticians office or hospital. Dr. I was very interested in selling me a pair of frames and lenses which was grossly apparent. So, I did pick out a pair of awesome frames, just for fun, and since they made me wait I made sure I took all the time I wanted with the optical advisor. With my "discount" the frames would be $895! Uhm, yeah no thanks. I cannot speak to the quality of the exam. I'm guessing I'll figure that out next year when I go elsewhere. read more

Every time I come here it's an awful experience, with all services. Something simple like trying to order lenses, they charge upfront and then delay your delivery promising one date and you have to constantly check in when you haven't heard back in a week. Then if you try to get an eye exam and have an appointment, they take someone else before you who just walked in leaving you sitting there. Or if you just want your lense prescription so you can order online they say someone will call and then a week later after emailing back and forth, no one has called or followed up. Go somewhere else if you want to avoid a headache each time with their poor customer service. read more

I had a wonderful optometrist on the south shore but could not find a way to get down there regularly to see her, so I scheduled an annual exam at All Eye Care because it was convenient and looked to have good reviews. I scheduled my exam for 5:00pm and had to wait an hour, they had asked me to take my contacts out as soon as I arrived so I was left to sit in the waiting area without the ability to see for over an hour. I was not told to bring my glasses and I was not checked on while I was waiting. If you have very poor vision this is an extremely uncomfortable position to be put in, especially without warning. When I was finally helped my exam was done by who I assume was a Harvard student. The exam had to be administered multiple times because of his lack of experience. After this I was sent back to the waiting room to wait for another 20 minutes (this time, thankfully with contacts in). When I was seen by a the doctor I felt bullied into a much higher prescription than I have ever had and told that "she specialized in exactly what was causing this". I didn't understand where this was coming from because my prescription had been stable for the last 3 years. But she insisted that my vision was degrading. After that strange discussion I was given a trial set of contacts that were in my old prescription because they had to special order the stronger ones she was recommending. I scheduled an appointment a week later to pick these up. 1 week later I arrive at my appointment and again have to wait - 40 minutes this time. While in the waiting room I spoke with a woman who had had the exact same experience I had had over multiple visits. She had been forced into a much stronger prescription as well and had felt backed into a corner to accept that she needed them. The new trial contacts were so strong they were giving me head aches. I could not use them at all and I had wasted a copay on an appointment that was the least professional healthcare experience I had ever been through. I cancelled my follow up and received numerous calls afterward, every day for about 3 weeks. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. The convenience is appealing but do not let that sway you into their services - especially if you have a higher prescription. You will end up wasting your time and your money. read more

I went to this stupid place. After they charged my insurance. The doctor was supposed to email me and return my calls. It's almost 4weeks now. I call and they tell me she is with patients. I am a patient there so how come the doctor hasn't called me or emailed me like she was supposed to. This place is terrible. They don't communicate well with patients. All Care Eye Doctors can be a busy place -- especially being in the heart of Porter Square. I've always been able to easily make an appointment, but 1 star off for always having to wait 30 min. past the appointment time. I appreciate the email and text notifications so I don't miss an appointment. Dr. Idrizovic is incredibly helpful when it comes to understanding the pricing of services and hardware. She really went the extra mile last time I visited to spend 20 minutes on the phone with my insurance to make sure I was getting the best use of all my benefits. Doctor Idrizovic and the staff at All Eye Care have been super helpful to me and my girlfriend since we moved to Somerville. I hadn't been to an eye doctor in about 5 years before I came here and they were all very patient with me. They helped to explain everything that they were doing and what exactly was going on with my eyes and they did it in terms that I could easily understand. I now have contacts that are comfortable (which is a first) and glasses that allow me to actually see with my left eye and look great on me. I unfortunately did not have a great experience at All Eye Care in Cambridge. I tried to schedule an appointment initially in Medford and they convinced me to go to the Cambridge office instead saying there was only 1 new doctor in Medford. I agreed even though it was out of my way to travel there. My appointment was a yearly for contact prescription renewal and ended up taking a total of 2 and a half hours. I spent a short amount of time waiting, but then had to see a student which ended up taking a lot of time. We then ended up waiting for the doctor for at least a half hour who then preceded to do the same tests. Afterward, they tried to convince me to switch my contacts and get new frames which were ridiculously expensive. Another issue with this place is that they refuse to give you your prescription until you come back one week later for a "5 minute" appointment that ends up taking 45 minutes between wait time and them trying to do another exam on you. In the end, they never gave me my prescription to use on 1-800-contacts but made me order it through them. It did end up being a good price, but I will not be returning due to their persistence to use their products and obscenely long wait times. read more

DO NOT go there!! The same "Dr. I" does the same scam at this new location: worst experience I've had all 15+ years of going to optical stores annually! Waited for 50 minutes until seen and during that whole 50 minutes no one once checked on me. When finally seen I was given the b.s. how it takes longer for new patients--I got there 10 minutes earlier to get paperwork and pre-exam done. When I asked how much longer for the wait and mentioned my appointment was at 2pm, all I got was a snide reply "I know!". And, the rest of visit got progressively worse from there: 1. I never had a "doctor" meddling with insurance and charges where the staff have no slightest idea how my charges came about. I later then learned from my primary physician she file false insurance claim to get more money (fabricated my complaint of experiencing headaches and dizziness to get a retro-referral. Why would I go to an optical store for that!!!) 2. During the exam, I mentioned I want to stay with the same contacts, she told me what I have been wearing is "discontinued". And of course that was a lie, but I didn't know then, so let her fit me with whatever she thought were "the best!" When I asked isn't the daily ones more expensive, she shrugged! And sure enough the bill came to double of what I have been paying the past years. I was not happy and asked them to readjust the charge and refund me the difference, all they could tell me is "you were charged correctly!" When I asked my insurance company to step in, she told my insurance company I was charged at a higher rate because they "don't do standard contacts fitting." Em, shouldn't I be told of that when making the appointment or during the exam? 3. She also told me my insurance company is terrible at making glasses, and I should go with their type of glasses lenses. AND, she told me I can't use frame insurance allowance if I am using contact lenses allowance!!!! Duh, frame and lens, do they sound the same to you? It's either frame and contacts, or frame and eyeglasses lens. Of course they refused to listen to me and quoted me $900 for a pair of eyeglasses, while it would be under $100 with my insurance. 4. The contacts that "Dr. I" had me tried made my vision blurry and everything is out of focus. When I finally got the prescription, they were of course way high! And she still claimed those were the right fit when I explained more than twice that they don't help my seeing better! 5. She is not a doctor but an aggressive, dishonest salesman. And that's exactly how I felt the entire time. She dismissed my preference of contacts and my insurance to get money out of me. When confronted, she responded "misunderstanding..." but continued to pushing for sales. ...Read other reviews of their Medford location as this Dr. I also works at that location and you will see a pattern (same shit she has been doing for 2-3 years!) One even mentioned the Dr. I refused to confirm the prescription for online purchases so we will have no choice but buy from them, which of course is doubled the cost.
