Turn off the water, remove the faceplate, replace the cartridge. The job takes less than an hour. All Hour Plumbing charged me $467.00 This is predatory pricing. I don't mind paying a premium for emergency work but this was way over the top. I strongly recommend you choose someone else. read more

We had Whipple / All Hours Plumbing (same company) come out to assess a back flow issue with our main line drain system. The first tech was great. He ran an auger and fixed the immediate problem. It did cost $700 which is pretty outrageous. We then had another tech come out to run a camera through the line to see what needed to be fixed. He didn't take any pictures or record the live feed. When making a big financial decision like this it's important to be able to review what was found. Customer service said they should have taken pictures at the least but the techs manager refused to redo it without charging us again. The tech ended up giving us three quotes with three options. The lowest being $11k for a "bandaid fix" and $25k for a full pipe replacement from house to street.This pricing is way beyond industry standard. I received another quote the next day from a reputable plumber for $8k for the full pipe replacement. Super frustrating to be taken advantage of. I would never use Whipple or All Hours Plumbing again. Their pricing and business practices are very questionable. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!     Their website has a customer service satisfaction guarantee that they do not honor. We hired All Hours Plumbing to fix a broken heater. They sent a "professional" out to fix it. We were aware that it was already broken, which is why we hired the company. My partner and I both work full-time jobs. My partner works in the trades. The last thing we wanted to do on a weekend, was trying to fix a broken heater. So, we hired All Hours Plumbing. They seemed nice enough and sent someone out within the week. This person was a certified "professional" trained to fix heaters.   The "professionals" approach to fixing our heater, which they claimed he was "trained" to do, was to watch YouTube videos for two days, then proceed to announce that our unit was broken. He did not fix the unit and charged us USD $650.00, which was how much the heater was brand new.   I know for a fact, that if my partner was hired to do a job, and showed up to the job site with zero tools, spent hours on YouTube to figure out how to do the job, and had no idea how to execute the job, that he would not be a professional. He would, in fact, be a hack.   After realizing we had been scammed, we reached out to All Hours Plumbing to discuss options. After having been avoided and given the runaround, a manager finally communicated with my partner that they had in fact, undercharged us, and should have charged us more. We hope that no one is unintelligent enough to ever hire this company and we hope you see through their false marketing. When they showed up, I realized I contacted the wrong company. THe company names are very very similar - one stupid word. It even begins with an A. The issue was the shower temp wasn't adjusting. They suggested that I change out my internal shower parts to Moen and that they would have to tear out the drywall to change everything out. It sounded very expensive. I didn't feel like he was really taking his time to see what the issue was as we've had this fixed before. Issue #2 - we needed a slow shower drain cleared. The tech said they had drain tech's that would come do that. Drain tech's showed up. I say go ahead and they give me the price. Tech tells me it's going to cost $329 to clear the drain. I gasped. WTH? I've had drains cleaned on average for $29. I very, very reluctantly gave them to go ahead bc we needed it fixed and I felt bad bc they came all the way to my house. 15 minutes later they were done. I'm now even more angry with myself. I say that I'm supposed to get some sort of service charge discount if they complete a job. Low & behold, because these illustrious drain guys came out it was going to be separate service charge. There was no mention that that would happen. No discount. I understand that it was my fault for allowing the service to take place regardless, but I can still be mad. It still bugs me and it's been months. Will never use them again for the price gouging and what I felt like was a bait & switch. I have had an extremely bad experience this these guys and it's still ongoing. Their customer service has not taken our claims seriously and will constantly give a run around and avoid accountability. A very long story short- they left a mess, destroyed my irrigation system, pulled permits for the work and never had it inspected. They tried sending some pictures to the inspector and, based off the pictures, the work did not pass. The 11ft hole they dug is already filled in, and I am left in limbo. Needed furnace tune ups on three furnaces in one triplex. Only one was completed because technician claimed he could only access one of the units. Detail instructions were given for the placement of hidden keys. I personally think it was towards the end of the day and the technician wanted to call it a day. Now I have to make new arrangements with the tenants and wait 2 more weeks. This company is so big you are unable to talk to the technician over the phone. The contact phone number gets you to their phone department, which all they can do is read notes out of the computer. Not really helpful. If you are going to be home and it is for your personal residence probably a good service. The main work that needed to be performed was a changing of the valve behind the wall in the shower. They bid $1375.21 for it. The company that came out on Monday did it for $298.12. And that total included his diagnosis, testing out other cartridges he had in stock on his truck and the full repair. We've used All Hours for a few different repairs, most of which were pretty quick fixes, done immediately and without too much of a cost issue. That was until we had a main line issue over the Memorial Day weekend, which needed to be fixed ASAP. As with previous service calls, they dispatched a technician fairly quickly who diagnosed the problem right away. The only problem was that a routine line snaking wasn't fixing the issue, and they would need to get the machinery for a the line to be blown out with water. This meant they'd have to come back the next day, and until then we couldn't use any of our toilets/showers/sinks/dishwasher. The next day comes, and we are left waiting because the equipment they were going to use was not working, so they had to scramble to find some that would get the job done. Later that same day, after getting the line blown out and putting a camera down to visualize what was the problem, we were informed that a 5 foot section of pipe would need to be replaced because it was deteriorating and would cause the same issue later on. It was going to cost over $10K to do it, because it would require the street to be dug up and permits would need to be obtained to move ahead. Not wanting to wait on this or have our house flood again, we agreed to get it fixed immediately. At the time, they suggested financing through MySynchrony in order to get going right away. We were told we'd be getting a great interest rate, and be approved instantly, so we went for that instead of totally draining our savings or using our credit card. Unfortunately, MySynchrony has been a pain to deal with, and we would have been better off using our credit card or waiting to see our own bank for a loan, because the promised low interest rate did not happen. To make matters worse, I wanted to try to transfer the remaining balance to my credit card, and MySynchrony won't accept anything but a bank account to accept payments from. I find this "bank" to be quite shady and would advise anyone else approached with the concept of financing through this company to be aware and use any other means of financing available to them first, or walk away from the project entirely. Then there was the miscommunication with the city. No more than four months after our street was dug up to fix the pipe, Layton city came RIGHT behind them and dug up the EXACT SAME SPOT for sewer issues. I called the city planner and asked if there was a potential for us to have saved money, since the city was going to be digging there anyway. They admitted this probably could have happened, but said it was an example of "the left hand not knowing what the right was up to." I would think All Hours, as the entity procuring the permits, would be proactive to ask the city if there were any future plans to dig up the street, but apparently not. Mixed feelings on this one; smaller issues seemed to be fixed rather easily and for not too much cash. The lager jobs you may want to consult with a few other companies first for price comparison and advice. Also, any company using the shady, one-star company (on Yelp) MySynchrony needs to be given a second look. read more

After showing him the water heater he opted to try and screw me by paying $2300 for a water heater that only needed a new Thermopile simply because he wasn't getting a code and was too lazy to check the voltage. I had one good experience with All Hours so I called them to install my faucet and garbage disposal. He tried to tell me it was $485 just for the garbage disposal install (which we already had). My water heater went on Labor Day so me and my son went to Home Depot and purchase a new one in stalled the water heater our selfs but the connection were leaking made appointment with all hours plumbing which the messed up on our appointment dates my wife took two days off from work . well the plumber came to our home and told my wife it's our new water heater my Anode rods on the new heater are bad, I spoke to he plumber on the phone he try to tell me I need to take the water heater back to Home Depot I said no it's not the water heater it's the connections the hot and cold line coming from my house that needs to be retrofit he kept on saying no no I'm wrong that's not why it's leaking I told him just to leave it alone I will get a new plumber company I drove home and the plumber was still at my home I showed plumber the part that was leaking he says no that's not it . I told him yes it is I t I did a test leak on the pipes . Then plumber told me I need a Expansion tank I said no just connect the hot cold water Lines to heater then he told I need to change the piping ask why ? Because !! Had to go back to work came home in the evening the water heater was connected and worked fine . We had 2 major plumbing problems occur simultaneously: leaky faucets by the washing machine and a hot water heater that shut down. We've used All Hours in the past. We know them to be both a little pricey but extremely good at what they do. Our serviceman was T.J. He came a little earlier than scheduled (with notice) and gave me an excellent estimate. He identified 4 specific tasks but was careful to explain that 2 of them, while important, could've waited. We decided to have him do the entire job. We were extremely pleased with T.J. and the work he performed. He was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. He gave us good advice. We did not get the impression he was trying to gouge us. He was realistic in the amount of time he would need and he was careful to clean up after himself. Yes, it was pricey, but I suspect all plumbing jobs are these days. Overall, an excellent review. I arranged to be home from work for the day to meet All Hours Plumbing between 8:am - 1:00 pm. A dispatcher called around the end of the time frame to say she didn't think a tech would be able to come by. A little after 2:00 I received a text saying that a tech was coming to my home "soon." I waited at the front door and no type of van came by. I did receive calls that showed as "spam" on my phone so I did not answer. I eventually received a voicemail around 3:00 that was left by the tech under the spam number. I called back to talk to the tech and ask him to come back. He hung up on me. Both the Any Hours dispatcher and tech were rude. Eventually, a manager texted me and said he can "prove" a van came by. Maybe it drove by, but it did not stop yet alone to come to the door. He also made reference to the spam calls as proof of their service. Dear reader of this review - how many times to you answer spam calls? His proposed solution was an emergency call on Saturday with a $199 extra charge "If you feel changing the color of your faucet is an emergency." This company is snarky and totally tone-deaf to the customer perspective and that I took a day off work to be available for a scheduled appointment. I wasted a day of paid time off for no reason. I signed up for a service contract in the spring. I was supposed to get a tune up for my HVAC unit; the appointments just kept getting cancelled for various reasons and they never followed up so the service was never done. They did do a good job when they serviced my heating system; all in good working order. But....they came to change a filter in my reverse osmosis system and then the trouble started....the serviceman told me it was difficult to change the filter, asked how old the system was and then told me I needed a new system (instant hot & reverse osmosis) and that it would cost me $4,900. I found someone who is doing it for $2,400; a company that has an excellent rating. These guys sell you the contract and give you confidence that they know what they are doing and then over charge. read more

I thought that was absurd, so I called All Hours Plumbing. They sent a guy out the next day and he too said it was a $600-$650 job. I couldn't wait any longer, with water dripping down the wall, so I scheduled with All Hours, although the price was ridiculous. The tech told me it would be a 2-3 hour job. I figured that was how they came up with the price--I understand average per hr price for a plumber is $200. A tech came out the next day to replace the faucet. He was on the property for 45 minutes, with the actual repair taking 30 minutes. I was so glad because I knew the cost would be less, but when he was done he said the price was $650. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was very late for another appointment and couldn't spend the time arguing. I assumed he'd been told to charge me $650 so he did, even though he only was in the place for 45 minutes. I figured I'd call the next day and ask for an explanation and a refund of at least half the price. I sent two emails, explaining the situation and received no reply to either one. Good luck getting anyone to talk to other than the receptionist at this place. When I called I explained why I was calling and when I said I was going to ask for a refund, she laughed. Not an outright ha-ha-ha laugh, but a sort of snort, like "good luck, lady." I couldn't believe it. She said she'd have someone call me right back. I also asked for an itemized receipt. She emailed me a receipt that said "replace laundry room faucet - $650." No call-back that day or the next. I called again and when she told me someone would call me right back, I said I'd hold. At that point she transferred me to someone named Rob who listened to my story, said they don't charge by the hour, but flat rate by the job. (First time I've ever had any type of plumber, electrician, anyone charge this way.) He said he was out in the field and he'd look at it as soon as he got back and would call me by the end of the day. Right. No call back that day (Friday). I called again on Monday afternoon and was told--once again--that he'd call me back immediately. Three hours later I called one last time and she offered again to have him call back. I declined and told her firmly that I would be writing a bad review and contact the Better Business Bureau. Their customer service after the job is done and they have your money is abysmal. We recently bought an old home in the Sugar House area and although the company that performed the sewer scope prior to purchased stated that everything looked 100% good, a few months later we had a clog in the main sewer line going to the city. This caused flooding in the unfinished and finished part of our basement. The immediate issue was to unclog the main sewer line which All Hours did within a few hours after calling them. They also did a sewer scope to understand what caused this and ultimately make a recommendation to prevent this happening in the future. It was clear that the company who previously did the sewer scope missed many "root balls" which should have been cut back. Our primary point of contact at All Hours was Paul who was very helpful in explaining the issues and what could be done to prevent this from happening again. My experience so far with this company is that they are very honest, thorough with their work and friendly to work with. They will be my plumbers for any future services. read more
