Called 12-19-25, My dog went unconscious she collected herself but was disoriented and had trouble walking, I immediately called All Kinds Vet 5: 43pm I explained to the receptionist what was going on, she replied " we close in a few minutes, I told her I was 3 minutes away again she said "we close at 6 that's only a few minutes and there's only one vet here" we can't help you, you need to go to Urgent Care. I went to Solomons Vet who also closed at 6pm, they waited for us 35 minute trip, at this point she was worse, unfortunately we lost our best friend. Would 3 minutes versus 30 made a difference no one knows at this point. All Kinds showed no compassion or concern. SAD read more

The following day I received an automated communication to schedule my pets visit. I went ahead and contacted them again and received the same runaround. Pros: Nice office Clean environment Polite office staff One vet with good bedside manner Cons: Pricing One vet who's very blunt with poor people skills Wait time in office I'd recommend this vet depending on which vet you get. Dr. ADAM was very kind-hearted, reasonable, and understanding. E.g. Every visit they will ask what you feed your pet. My elderly cat wouldn't eat the expensive, vet recommended one and was losing weight. So I fed her whatever she'd eat. Dr. ADAM said the logical thing, 'expensive food won't help if she doesn't eat it, so feed her just like you do. She needs to eat.' Not all vets there were of that mindset. I was also told my cat was dying and needed euthanized by other vets there. My cat lived for 3 years after they told me she needed to be euthanized. I also felt some vets just milked me for every dime. Some didn't like it when I chose not to get all the procedures they recommended because I simply couldn't afford them. Dr Adam never made me feel guilty or like a bad pet owner. He gave me the options, explained why my cat needed those, and let me decide. He's the only one I would see if I had a pet. read more

I just realized this morning that a review I left quite some time again is missing... I will start by saying our " Furbaby" is the love of our lives and there is absolutely nothing we wouldn't do for her. She had some severe health issues when she was a baby and spent a lot of time in the hospital. We almost lost her, so every day with her is a gift ... and each day I watch her like a hawk to make sure she stays healthy. I'm sure some would consider me neurotic when they are on the receiving end of a frantic call when Sophie (furbaby) has the slightest hiccup in her day that causes me any concern at all... so finding a vet that has great people that can juggle a million calls a day and still treat you as though your call and concerns are a priority is a godsend!! For Allkinds "my person" is Kirsten, she works the front desk and does so much more than that. I'm in awe that she has the ability to be more than just be a calming voice on the other end of the phone or a smiling face when we visit the clinic. If she isn't the one of many friendly (and I'm sure more than capable) once's that answers the phone, I immediately ask for her and cross my fingers that she's working... I trust and rely on her opinion almost as much as I do Dr. Steele. Now onto Dr Steele: she is also an amazing human being. She treats Sophie like she's her own, which knowing how much she loves her "furbaby" is saying a lot. She doesn't hesitate to spend extra time with us to listen to ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS! Even though she wasn't Sophie's vet when she was a puppy, she knows her history and is careful to keep that in mind when treating her. We lived in South Carolina prior to living here and didn't think we would ever find anyone to hold a candle to our vet there. We even considered taking a very long road-trip for all of our veterinary needs before we found " Dr Jen". She is just as incredible as Dr Dunagin is in South Carolina. To me, that is one of the biggest compliments to give her, since Dr Dunagin helped to save Sophie's life To finish up my novella, I will say that even though I don't have a lot of experience with Dr Adam or Dr Autumn (except when Dr Jen is taking an occasional day off), they have both been great when I call in with a concern. I read some reviews stating All Kinds wasn't reactive to calls and concerns, and I am truly shocked to read that. At times they are busy and leaving a voicemail is necessary or be diligent and continue to call until you get a live voice. If most calls they receive are even close to mine, then each call is time consuming. In a pre-Covid world I'm sure it wasn't always easy to find staff. They are located in a small town that is off the beaten path which I'm sure doesn't make it easy. I feel fortunate to have found them, and I feel certain that the negative reviews might be a glitch in the day, but by no means is who and what they are and stand for. LOVE this vet and will not take my dog anywhere else. They care about my dog before anything else. The first time we brought Dunkan in we let Autumn know about his severe anxiety at the vets office, she took the time to sit on the floor and love him help calm him, and continues to do so every time he's seen. When we almost lost him due to him being attacked they took him back right away and worked on him without hesitation or worry of money, they wanted to save him. When my mom's dog was old and had a seizure, we rushed her in as it was before they opened. The vet wasn't even in yet and Dr Autumn rushed in early to help us. They cried with us when it was time to say good-bye and never once had anything but kindness and compassion both for us and our dog. Autumn talked about all the funny things our dog had done at their office over the years (the dog was a CHARACTER) and the tech hugged and cried with us as we grieved. I can't think them enough for the comfort they gave us during such a hard time. Dr. Adam also sees my birds. He is knowledgeable, kind, and funny, and I am so incredibly thankful to have such a good avian vet so close to me, as avian vets are hard to come by, especially good ones. read more

This is not our regular vet, we are staying nearby and our dog had an accident, the night before we went to the office and although they were closed a very nice doctor came out and checked our dog in the parking lot, she suggested we come back the following day. Without an appointment on a very busy Saturday they worked us in, a different but equally awesome doctor gave our dog a full exam and told us how to care for her. If I lived closer I would switch vets in a second, this place is awesome. read more

When I used the system again because I had to get shots to board my pet they called and said they were booked till middle of next month and would only offer to place on a cancellation list. I am not one to really ever leave reviews, but my husband and I cannot go another day without praising All Kinds Veterinary Hospital. Back in April we had to say goodbye to our sweet girl Dallas who had been in our lives for 12 years. They were so kind, loving, gentle and patient with us during the entire process. While we never wanted that day to come, once it did, AKVH made sure to keep everyone comfortable as possible. They even allowed our other dog, Evie, back with us so she could say her final goodbyes to Dallas. After several days had passed they sent us surprise mail with a footprint of our sweet girl. My two boys cried - one being a teenager. AKVH truly impacted us in a good way. Not only did they do everything they could that day, they also went above and beyond for us when we had to get Evie checked up due to my husband getting orders to Hawaii. They knew exactly what they needed to do to make it happen. Not only that, but Evie hates the vet, but with AKVH you would never have known. She loves everyone up there because they treat her like family. We have been in St Mary's for 3 years and i WISH we had known about AKVH when we first moved here. *Knowledgeable aquatic vet* This is the only vet I've ever encountered who really knows aquatics, and I would bet they actually know reptiles and amphibians, too. I made the right choice when I went to them, as without a doubt they saved my pet's life. Though most people don't realize this, goldfish can live 20 years with the proper care- mine is probably around 10, and I am fond of him. When I showed up after two hours in the car my poor fish was almost dead, and they spent three hours stabilizing him, two weeks treating him, and even drove him back to the DC area. I know he's "just a fish," but the vet and staff treated him like any other beloved pet- and saved him. They are knowledgeable and they care. Oh, and they clearly love furry animals, too- on a subsequent visit I had my rowdy, somewhat intimidating dog with me. She's actually quite sweet, but NOBODY has ever gotten down on the floor with her 30 seconds after meeting her until we visited All Kinds. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm pretty sure she would be excited to go back to the vet! read more

I contacted this vet, which came as a referral. I filled out the request online to schedule a grooming appointment for a parrot. I NEVER got a phone call, but received an email telling me I could call them! They said my phone number didn't work. Well, I knew my phone worked. I thought I typed the wrong number. When I asked the girl to verify my phone number that she "supposedly" just called, suddenly, she said she didn't have the number. She couldn't locate it, the email with my information and her computer wasn't working properly. But her computer was working well enough to email me just 1 minute prior to this. hahaha. I explained that I needed was a nail trim, wing clipping and beak sanding for my small parrot. She explained that they could certainly do the grooming, however, before grooming, they needed to do a vet appointment. That was going to cost me $67.00. It probably would have taken the vet 1 minute to look at this little bird to determine how healthy he is. Seriously. Then, they would be willing to clip his nails and wings for an additional $35.00. They also informed me that the vet doesn't do boarding of animals unless it's for medical purposes. Their website clearly states they do boarding. That was okay, and maybe they changed their practice. But they should update the website to be accurate. What I am NOT okay with is $102.00 to clip my birds wings and nails! This is a total rip-off! In my home state, I get my bird's wings, nails and beak clipped for $10.00!!! This is NOT a difficult process for a bird. It takes all of about 10 minutes total at the very most. It doesn't need to be done by a vet, and this vet place said they even had other staff who could do it. I may have been willing to do the vet appt if they would do the grooming as well within the price of $67.00. It was still too expensive, but the bird needs it and I don't like doing it. I will NOT go to a vet who simply wants to charge an excessive amount for a 10 minute easy process. The prices and requirements here are ridiculous. read more

I am still using this vet clinic. My dog goes crazy happy being there and everyone adores her. My dog is a Rottie, so most people are scared, but they actually listen to me and let me hold her for shots, procedures and such, as I am the best authority on my dog. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, call after appointments to Che k, and make my dog feel loved and cherished, making her a spaz dog when she visits. They don't push meds etc, as I order her heart worm online along with tick collar. I highly recommend these vets. They know what they are talking about and treat your pet like a family member! read more

If you're looking for a vet that won't respect your time, then look no further! I've been using All Kinds for years and I finally had to switch to a different vet. The care is fine, but the office management is lacking. If you have an appointment, you better make sure you don't have anywhere else you need to be because you may have to wait for over an hour after your appointment time. For medication refills, even if you call in advance and tell them the time you'll be there, it will take them at least 20 minutes to get the pills and process your payment. I've worked in veterinary hospitals before and the policy was to serve the customers and respect their time. If the vet is running behind, the receptionists should be calling the later appointments and giving them a chance to reschedule so they don't waste their time. If a customer needs to pick up pills or food, then the staff should make it a priority to get them checked out as quickly as possible. Hopefully All Kinds will put more effort into office management but I'm not waiting around for it. My pets go to a different vet now. read more

I've dealt with this office on two occasions. One when a reptile pet was dying after a severe injury and once after adopting from the shelter. On both occasions I felt the money squeeze,they want every cent they can get. As our bearded dragon was imminently dying I called to see if they would be willing/able to euthanize him and they yes,but only if I book an office visit,pay extra for an emergency visit - even though a same day,right now appointment was actually available,and subject the beardie to an exam and blood draw. Seriously? But that's how most vets are...especially this one. WELL PET CLINIC IN CALVERT (only Calvert) is the best. Helped us and didn't even charge us because they said it was a medical necessity. read more

I have minimal experience with Vets but went here because I know one of the ladies that works there. We had to let our Sweet Pea go to heaven to alleviate her pain. They explained the process to us and let us spend as much time with her as we wanted before the injection. One of the most difficult things I've ever done. A few days later we received a card and her paw print on a heart......absolutely made my heart melt. I don't think we will have another pet, but if we did, it would definitely go here. Will not be going back. Have been here numerous times over the three years that we have lived here. Each of our two dogs has been seen once a year, plus sick dog visits. Yet I never connected to the vets or the staff or felt they really addressed our needs. I never felt very comfortable there. ( I had a great relationship with the vets in my hometown.) I was told one of my dogs might have ingrown lashes, might have another sight impairment, pannus, which sometimes happens in greyhounds. Ingrown lashes may require surgery, which was mentioned. Pannus requires eye drops daily. Yet no test was done, no meds given, no research done, and I was never contacted back. I was told that dentals for my dogs would cost $645-$800 each. We actually ended up driving the two hours to Richmond to a clinic there for dentals; $200 for each dog. ( Highly recommended clinic with a fantastic vet.) The kicker for me was my dog hurting his toe on the swing out door as we entered the vet office. The vet rushed in and took him to the back to bandage his foot. At that time, the front desk admin person assured me that dogs were hit by the door all the time. We continued on with our visit, I paid the bill, and left. When I got home and was able to really look at the bill without being attached to the leash of two dogs, I saw that I was charged a $16 fee to bandage my dog! Talk about adding insult to injury! Your door hits my dog. You offer to fix up his wound. Then you charge me $16??! How rude! Price is not my main concern. But care of my animals is. I do not feel that they really had my dogs' best interest; in the case with problems with my one dog's eyes, I clearly felt that they basically ignored him. Another local vet did a quick and easy dye test and was able to answer questions and alleviate my fears as well as determining the damage and cause. ( He does not need surgery, and at 11 years old, I was worried for him.) Also, several times I had been in the office at All Kinds; I was left waiting an extremely long time when I already had an appointment. There were just many reasons that I felt they were not living up to my expectations of a thoughtful and knowledgeable vet team. read more

Our dog Daisy went to All Kinds for roughly three years. Prior to that our only experience with a Vet was through Banfield at Petsmart, which left much to be desired. When our senior citizen dog began to have health issues, we knew we needed to find a better Vet that was closer to home. That led us to All Kinds. They were always so polite and quick to check us in at the desk. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes to be brought back to a room. The Vet tech always came right in and checked us in, asked about our reason for the visit, and check out our dog. The Vet would then come in within a short time and we would be out the door after all the services were done. The Vets that we saw always took the time to sit and discuss our options and the issues we were having. I never felt like they were trying to sell us on anything and always felt that they gave us the autonomy to make the best choice for our pet. The prices for all the services we have had done with All Kinds have always been fair and reasonable. Recently, we had to put Daisy down. All Kinds and Dr Jen made our experience as good as humanly possible. In our first appointment, to talk about the health problems and where to go from there, we were given all the information we could need in a manner we could understand. We felt that Dr Jen and the Vet Tech helped us to make the best decision for our dog. We never felt pressured to make a certain choice, or guilty for choosing death with dignity for our Daisy. The day we came in for the appointment to put her down, the staff at the desk knew who we were as soon as we walked in. They brought us immediately to an exam room and gave Daisy a blanket and lots of treats. The Vet Tech came right in and discussed everything with us, gave Daisy more treats, and took Daisy back for an IV. While Daisy was out for the IV, the desk staff came to collect the payment so that after we could leave right away. The Vet Tech brought Daisy back, wrapped in a blanket with her IV. She gave Daisy more treats and got Dr Jen. Dr Jen came in and talked with us. She helped us to feel comfortable with what we were doing and talked to Daisy to comfort her. She let me hold Daisy for the euthanasia, after explaining what would happen, and I feel that has helped me with the grieving process. After, she let us hold Daisy and when we were ready we got her and she held Daisy in the room until we left. While it was a horrible day, I will always be grateful to Dr Jen and ALL the staff for their kindness and compassion that made all the difference in the world for our family. After the experience of losing a dog we had for 10 years, I don't know that we will be ready for another pet anytime soon. But when we are, there is not a single other Vet I would take the pet to in this area. read more

This is such an amazing hospital. I live in Waldorf , Maryland and gladly make the 1hour and 15 minute drive for my 6 pack. Dr. Adam and Autumn are wonderful Veterinarians. I have known them professionally and as a client. Dr. Adam saw my cat Miranda for 18 years. In ALL 18 years Miranda was lovely at home AND for all 18 years it was the ongoing question : Do we need a blessing or exorcism??? Dr. Adam rose to the challenge when many a lesser Veterinarian would not even consider touching her. My father was a Cardiologist and when he met Dr. Adam in 2001-2 he was so impressed with his knowledge and his work ethic. My father said ( many times over the years) you don't run a test Unless you plan on doing something with the answers. Dr. Adam practices this exact way. I have heard the exact words come out of his mouth. Dr. Autumn is my working dog Atticus guardian angel. She probably doesn't even remember seeing Atticus for his first visit. I was so excited a working GSD should be well rounded , even keel, responding to every command. I named him after "Atticus Finch" ( to kill a mocking bird) yeah boy was I wrong ... but Autumn came up with his nickname and to this day I call him what you said that first visit : what will you call him for short ? Addie?? Well yes thanks Autumn .Atticus was always itching and continually having recurring infections. Dr. Autumn finally said let's run an allergy panel to see what is triggering him ?? But not for Dr. Autumn we wouldn't know the 22 different things my boy is allergic to. Yes 22 different things. So for all they have given me over the years... I was finally able to give back to them: a case which was unheard of 22 different allergies. Hey I gave them another first. What do we charge for 2 allergy vials of serum? In 20 years this was never an issue. The Staff and other doctors, Dr. Steele and Dr. Kate are the perfect fit for the hospital. Dr. Kate has taught me many things, and sees a wide variety of species. One minute she is working with snakes, then she is seeing a reptile , or a bird you just never know what will walk/ fly /slither/ or craw out of her room. My DYH going to the vets. Dr. Steele is an all around the most Active person I have ever met. I wish I had her energy; besides working many long hours; she can be found "working" her own personal dog. If I ever get lost "Send in her dog" . The Staff is very knowledgeable and they truly care about each client/ patient. I know first hand how stressful this job can be: you may have to say goodbye to a patient of 20 years one minute, welcome a litter of puppies the next yet I have never been met by a sour, unfriendly, or rude person who works here. The receptionist and technicians are more that just a title they know your name, the name of your pet and family members they truly care about all of them. I absolutely recommend All Kinds 110%. I put my money where my mouth is.. I recommend them 2-3 times a day. I get really excited if a client doesn't have a regular vet and lives in Callaway because they truly are the lucky ones. read more

After having gone to All Kinds for over 10 years, I was disappointed in my recent visit. I saw a Doctor that I have never met, and she didn't seem to know my dog, or his history. Even if Dr's Adam and Autumn were faking it in the past, they always made me feel like they clearly remembered my dog and his history. I had trouble getting a straight answer about blood work, or a solid yes or no about keeping him on medication. The doctor was very nice, but I didn't feel overly confident in her skill set. Then, one of the front desk staff gave a dirty look when I dropped off the fecal sample and after a minute said "who's your pet anyway" to me, while I was standing with him on leash. I was extremely grateful when the other (very friendly to me and my dog!!!) front desk woman took over for billing and meds. She was able to answer questions and set up a reminder. I hope that this was an off day for the Dr and other front desk person as I have always highly recommended All Kinds to friends in the area. read more

My husband and I have brought our 2 Black Labs to All Kinds for a number of years and have had satisfactory experiences up until now. Bringing the both of them in for a yearly well pet visit less than two weeks ago they both checked out great according to Dr. Adam. I had mentioned in the visit that the female Sophie had been limping slightly on occasion and pain was pinpointed in her front wrist joint on manipulation. Even though she tests Lyme positive, he didn't seem concerned and sent us home to keep an eye on it. Three days later Sophie began to display a rapid breathing pattern and the fourth day I made another appointment and was seen by Dr. Steele. Dr. Steele gave her Rimadyl and said the rapid breathing was related to her joint pain and it should subside. No x-ray offered or taken. Sophie's breathing continued to worsen and I took her back in 3 days later and Dr. Steele did 1 x-ray of he left lung and took a blood sample. Her diagnosis was bacterial or viral pneumonia but she could not rule out cancer activity. She sent Sophie home with Augmentin and a shot of Lasix. At this point Sophie is still puffing and very uncomfortable. At just before 5 that evening I called and asked if there was anything I could possibly give her to make her more comfortable. The receptionist put me on hold and said that Dr. Adam conveyed to her that I had to wait for the antibiotics to work for at least 24 to 36 hours and that Rimadyl which she was already on, should be helping. Sophie stood up all night, unable to lay down and had had 2 doses of antibiotic by 4 that morning with no improvement. The only good thing they did was direct me to an emergency clinic in Bowie that were better equipped for imaging. After a dorsal x-ray in Bowie, it was revealed that Sophie was laden with Cancer throughout. I was told by Dr. Steele on the phone that an in home euthanasia could be done by All Kinds, that day. When my poor husband called to make arrangements, the receptionist said that this was not something they did and we could bring her in the following day. He hung up at that point and they promptly called him back and gave him numbers to two mobile vets which he called and neither of them answered the phone or bothered to call him back. Thankfully the clinic at Bowie gave Sophie Tramadol which eased some of her discomfort for the hour and a half ride back home. The end of her suffering was provided by an equine vet that my dog nor me, nor my poor husband knew. Thank God for this vet, the horse vet. After begging for comfort medication and being snuffed off for a euthanasia call, I'm done with All Kinds. To add insult to injury, I called to make a suggestion that they get their story straight as far as their policy on euthanasia calls and could only speak to the receptionist who told me that they would "Try to do better next time". They will be waiting quite a while for next time. No one bothered to call back so I don't even know if the message was passed on. I pray that this doesn't ever happen to any other pet owner and may it never, ever happen to anyone's suffering pet. read more

I recently had an "ok" visit here, so my 2 stars is partly because of a past pet years ago that i brought here regularly. My pet had passed away and there was no concern from the staff considering we had just been in for an exam 3 days prior and was suppose to be fine! I was basicly just asked if i wanted to make an appointment for any other pets! wow! but im sure these rude employees are no longer there. This recent visit was ok, everyone was very nice but the wait and the rush in and out was a little crazy! Felt like i didnt have any time to ask the questions i needed. Apparently somebody screwed up and missed a vaccine. While the cost was minimal, I would expect them to accept their mistake and eat the cost. Not All Kinds. Recently relocated to this area with two parrots and two old dogs. When I moved to this area thought one of my dogs was having adjustment problems but it turned out he was getting sick. Tried making an appointment at a specialty place in Annapolis but they were booked solid. A neighbor referred me to All Kinds, vet saw my dog right away and determined he had pancreatitis. The vet told me I needed to take my dog to the specialty place because he was dehydrated and needed IV fluids. When I told the vet I was unable to get an appointment at the specialty place the vet called personally and told them they needed to take my dog right away, which they did. All Kinds made sure my dog received the care he needed even though it necessitated referring my dog elsewhere. My little dog is recovering in an animal hospital in Texas after undergoing dental surgery for the removal of several bad teeth (last count 9!) Two abcessed! It has been 12 days since our last vet appointment at All Kinds. Our dog was taken there by me because I wanted them to once again check her teeth. Her breath was foul and she was grinding. After 30 seconds she was pronounced almost perfect. I asked for and was denied a round of antibiotics even though we were leaving for another state. I also must say that she had the same symptoms in January 2013 (this year). They sedated her, removed a molar and all of her front teeth.....and declared that she was GREAT. We realize that with a little dog sometimes tooth loss is genetic. We have brushed her teeth daily, deep cleaned them annually, prescription diet for oral care, gel, etc. the works. We accept the genetic predisposition of our breed. However, we do not accept incompetency. Her new vet showed me the back molar where her roots were exposed! Several teeth were loose, one inflamed. Our furry friend has been in very bad pain for months....Not acceptable and inexcusable. Glad to be in a large metroplex in Texas.... read more

I never got to meet the doctors, so I cant write a review about them. I CAN tell you that the staff is uncaring and so unprofessional. I adopted 2 golden puppies that were almost 8 weeks old and one of them would not eat at all. I called to see if there was an emergency appointment I could get for her since she was so small and so sick. They were more concerned with setting up appointments for my pups in the future instead of finding out what was wrong with them. I was told they were too busy and the next appointment was a week away. They never even cared how sick she was. That same day at 4PM I called Three Notch Vet and they asked about her symptoms and said they had no openings but to bring her in and they would squeeze her in somewhere because they were genuinely concerned for her health. I also brought my other pup who seemed ok but wasn't a very good eater either and they not only saw the sick pup, but also made time to check out her sister, who was suffering from the same parasite and needed the same medicine. Thank God for Three Notch because if I had listened to All Kinds, it may have been a sad outcome for my little pups. They are completely healthy and eat like little pigs now. I am so grateful! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...if you love your pet, bring them to a vet that cares what happens to them and not just their money. read more
