TERRIBLE CLEANING To begin with when I reserved service they asked me 3 questions. Size of house, number of bedrooms and bathrooms. As per the conversation, they said we do deep cleaning including Fan, walls, floor and wardrobe which includes window. Cleaner said we don't do walls and window. So I called their reps and they said sorry it's not included. After doing lot of back and forth they agreed by saying sorry we should have told you earlier Appliances, I had 2 refrigerators, so the rep said only 1 appliance are included, (lot of residues and stains as-is) one more surprise. I met Albert Matarrita on June 3rd, 2021 where we scheduled an appointment at 12:00 PM. He then texts my fiancé at 11:41 AM saying that he was running 30 minutes behind. He didn't arrive at the house till after 1:00 PM. That should have been enough for me but my fiancé says he does good work based on reviews. Albert finally arrives and walks into the house and apologizes for being late. My fiancé told him it's okay, where I responded don't be sorry just don't do it again. (I'm a United States Marine Corps Veteran punctuality is key.) Our time is just as valuable as his and it shouldn't be taken for granted. Albert walks our home he then proceeds to give us a price of $2,500.00. Which I didn't fight with him on. I said ok if my fiancé wants it then this is what we will do. I said most importantly is color. As I specifically had an accent wall built for her in white and gray stone. She said it's important to have a good color contrast and I agreed. She then showed Albert a sample color of what she found to be suitable for our new home. Albert said this wouldn't be a problem at all. On the day of we will make sure we have the right color combination you pick out. Then he told us the process which would entail sanding, prepping the floors, staining, and then clear coating. During this time my fiancé had already shown Albert the clear coating she wanted as one of the rooms match her desired clearing coating preference. (GLOSSY) I'm a loan officer and at a bank and took time off to be there during the initial meeting with the gentleman that my fiancé wanted to do the floors. My fiancé is an ER Nurse, we had just purchased this home and we had it completely renovated. That being said the contractor had finally finished the home which Albert was aware of since we made it a point to let him know that he would be the last one in our home to do the floors. What followed next, no one could have imagined. Here we are after purchasing the home in April and the final part remaining to be taken care of was going to be done by Mr. Matarrita as of July 20, 2021. The work gets started and my fiancé is communicating with me while she is there with two gentlemen employees in our home. Mr. Matarrita only showed up to go pick up the stain with one of the workers and then left. My fiancé then proceeds to send me pictures of the stain choices on which she was deciding on. After they mixed the desired color they proceed to start staining our floors. This first day they did one layer of stain. At this time there was no covering of our moldings nor were they removed. They were fully exposed to the elements. On the same first day, one of the workers accidentally kicks over the can of ebony stain all over the dining room wall, dining trim, and floor. So now there is not only the mess that has been caused by brown paint, now the worker begins shaving/sanding down the floor even more because of the mistake he made. (The employee never told Mr. Matarrita.) Neither did Mr. Matarrita come back to check on his workers that same day. They returned two days later to do another layer of stain in the home. This is where my Father In-law informed my fiancé that now there were brown stains all over the white molding on our new home that was just painted. My fiancé works a 12-hour shift in the ER as a Nurse. She then texts Albert at 8:44 PM to inform him what's going on. Albert has no idea what's happening as the business owner, which is scary. Albert tells my fiancé that he will come to see the property that evening at 9:30 PM. Albert arrived clearly frustrated at the fact he has no idea what's going on at a job site that he is supposed to be in charge of but is not. He then goes on to say WOW this is messy and I don't work like this. (Clearly, this is your company working in our house, is it not?) He was rude while there because of the time and I'm sure he would have rather been doing something else. (Hire better staff and then you wouldn't have anything to worry about). He said let them finish the work tomorrow that being Friday and then I'll inspect and fix the mess of the paint. He then goes on to say that "there is a 100% satisfaction and that he will see us on Saturday for payment." Friday comes and the workers finish up the home. We visit our home that evening just to check and see if the paint was cleaned up along with some marks that were put on our walls. We notice that everything was still there with some additional items which I wasn't too sure of at that time. Come to find out that they left strands of the brush on the floor when applying the clear coat. Then apply an additional clear coat over it. (Baffled, can you say careless? Update as of July 27, 2021. Sawdust is all over the walls.

We had already purchased the materials from various vendors so all that was needed was the installation. Initially was going to use a contractor recommended to us by Thunderstone Tile in Elizabeth. His guy was always busy and estimated the job while sitting on his couch via FaceTime. After agreeing to remove the existing Formica backsplash myself and patching the walls, he pulled a price out of thin air. $2200!! Even Thunderstone Tile raised an eyebrow when I told him what his contractor quoted me. He then tried to backpedal and say because of the complexity of the mosaic the price was higher. The red flags were flying hot and heavy at that point. I called LaRaj after seeing their work portfolio on their website. I dealt with a very pleasant young lady at the office when I called and said she would send Raj out to look at the job. He spent a good deal of time with my wife answering all her questions as well as FaceTimeing me at work to address my questions. His quote was significantly lower than Thunderstone's contractor. He said his father Henri would be doing the actual installation. You hear people talk about old school but you never really understand until you see it up close and personal. Henri is nothing short of an artist. The kitchen now looks Iike something out of architectural digest Absolutely perfect installation. Clean and sharp grout lines and the mosaic looks like apiece of art. Can't say enough good about these guys. Henri is a true craftsman. Great job!!!

I walked into the store today to find tile for my company's retail stores in the United States. This is a very well known retailer with locations in every state. I entered the store and there was an individual sitting down on their computer. Not once did he say hello or how can I help you. He never even got out of his chair! I walked around for 5 minutes and decided this is not the place for mine, or my company's business. I would be embarrassed for my company to receive my recommendation for this place. Not happy with the mistreatment, I walked out without seeing the other half of this small store. I figured the sales associate probably needed more training on how to get new business from a customer so I decided to call, immediately after I left, and notify the Manager of my bad experience. To my surprise, Raj, the Owner, answered the phone. I explained to him my intentions to potentially give him a lot of business and how I was mistreated during my visit to his store. He became argumentative and stated, "You were only in the store for 5 minutes and you stayed in the front the whole time." I expressed to him that if I were only in the store for 1 minute, someone should have said hello and asked me if I needed help with anything. Raj discounted everything I said, over-talked me, and never apologized for his poor customer service. The conversation was useless at that point. I decided to just write and inform others what to expect when they go to this store. I went in looking for a piece of marble for a shower seat I'm building. I told her I would email her son to confirm order. I emailed Lucas Olivera the interaction I had with the lady in his showroom and all the details of my needs. He thanked me for my business and sent me an estimate for a little over $200. I didn't mind it much. The estimate also stated "the color I have is pure white quartz." Colors have strange names so I paid no mind and in later emails I always referred to the piece as marble. He ignored my wording and from there on referred to it as "the piece." I asked for pictures to make sure it was what I wanted, but when I realized he was never going to send them I put the order in anyway. I went to pick up the piece to find he had made it from engineered quartz. I hated it. I couldn't take it. He told me he stated quartz, so I looked back on the emails and saw how he had worded it. Thinking it was a simple misunderstanding, I asked if we could do the piece in marble like I've been asking from the very beginning. He emailed me that marble is more expensive and would be $430. What a waste of time! First he makes my order in whatever he wanted ignoring my request, charges me the same amount his mother estimated for marble, and then tries to charge me over double the price. I have been going to Tile Wholesalers of Newark for all of my tile needs and have sent friends and…read morefamily there for years.  This business is family run and the people that work there are always amazing.  Stacy, part of the family that runs the store, is always helpful, patient, and very attentive.  No matter how busy the store might be, she always takes as much time as is needed to find the right tiles for whatever your application is.  As a matter of fact, when I was there last weekend to find a unique design for a very small bathroom, which involved finding and matching 4 different types of tile and the associated grout, and ensuring it all matches. Stacy stayed with me for at least an hour, picking up different tiles and working on different combinations based on my feedback.  I kept on pleading with her to go and attend to others while I worked the different combinations together, but she refused to leave until I felt confident that the choices were matching and I would be happy.  She also constantly kept me aware of price and showed my close options that would save me money in my project.  For instance, I chose a very expensive Italian ceramic tile which I loved, and she brought over something very similar, that I liked the same, and told me I would save hundreds on this version, which I choose.  Also, while writing this I decided to look up the tiles I bought in the store and I realized that all of the prices were either the same or cheaper than anything I found online, for all 4 tile sets I choose. From the standpoint of service, anytime in the past that I have had a question or issue, a quick call to the store usually solved the problem.  The whole reason that I wrote this was because when I was driving there, I needed to look up the address.  This brought me to yelp, where I was surprised to find the single star review.  When I read the ridiculous review, which has nothing to do with the store (they only carry premium products, including TEC grouting), I felt I had to write this review. Service Master did an outstanding job in my bathroom. I had a leak from my upstairs neighbors. They did a test for water and sure enough there was water. They cuts 2 holes in the soffit and checked for mold and lucky for me there were none. However, Service Master didn't want to chance it so thy treated it with a mold resistant just to make sure. That's what I call going above and beyond. They came everyday to take readings and on the 3rd day it was dry. Then they spackle and sanded two days in a row. They cleaned my bathroom each time they were here you could not even tell any sanding was done that's how clean they left it. Today they pained and what a fantastic job they did. But we needed more than installation - we wanted our floors redone, the layout (and therefore gas lines) moved, lighting redone, and a 220v line run to the apartment for the european-style in-wall oven. we got 5 bids on the job and reviewed them carefully. After a lot of questions and discussions, we decided to go with Florencio and his team, including Rolando, his main carpenter. We felt their questions and comments were thoughtful, and their price was lower than all the rest. Also, every time we spoke or met, they confirmed the meetings and called/arrived when they said they would. These were all good signs to us. We were extremely happy with the process, their work, and our kitchen. We had a fantastic experience. Besides being a very nice person, Florencio was very easy to talk with over plans, agreements, and misunderstands. The latter will occur in any project, but in my opinion the real mark of excellence is how you deal with things when they appear to go wrong. A couple times, before we knew each other well enough yet, I questioned Florencio about the cost/time of some work. He handled the questioning with grace and proceeded to show me pretty meticulous documentation to back everything up - in fact, once we looked, it was clear that he actually spent some time/expense without charging us. Throughout the project, there were a number of different people with different roles in and out of the project. They appeared and did what they said they would when Florencio said he'd do it. Everyone who worked with him seemed happy and productive, and on the numerous moments when I arrived unannounced, they were always hard at work. I think this says something for his management. Florencio arranged all the sub-contractors: plumbers, electricians, etc - and they all had papers and did clean work. He also had recommendations for me for tile, lighting, and countertop people in the city. I used his lighting person (Lendy's) and he got me a price that was half what the other shops in the bowery were charging. Both Rolando and Florencio also possess a strong desire to do clean work the right way; Rolando could even be accused of being a perfectionist. I was reassured by this, and everything in my [now complete] kitchen is meticulously straight (despite the crooked, ancient building I live in), neat, and well put-together. Not a sloppy moment. However, there were a couple moments when I didn't want to pay for the "perfect" solution, and these conversations were easy to have with Florencio and Rolando; they understood this and helped me make smart decisions on where to spend my money. The icing on the cake is that Florencio really understands what the customer experience is like. He was constantly concerned with our comfort while living in the apartment. In the end, he even made trips to ikea for us, and returned all our unwanted materials for me, saving us, basically a weekend of van rentals and trips to Ikea. he got rid of all the extra material hanging around, so that we could come home to a brand new kitchen with nothing left to do but move back into it. There were also a bunch of little details in the end that needed to be cleaned up, and Florencio came in and worked through every one of them with patience and conviction. It was clear that he wasn't going to consider this project done until he made sure every tiny detail was complete (and, true, he could get paid...) - but he takes pride in his work and clearly cared that it was well-done. There were a couple of moments where there were misunderstandings over what was included in our original contract. Though the communication could have been better up front, we were easily able to have mutually respectful conversations over these issues and arrive at solutions. Because of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., where the supportive beams for the building are, which couldn't be found until they opened the wall), our kitchen was slightly more than the original cost, but not much. And it was done quicker than the original quote. We are extremely pleased and would recommend Florencio and his team to just about anyone.
