It's a shame I can't give this company zero stars. We have moved and used movers extensively in the past and never had a moving company be SO BAD!! I realize they charge an hourly rate for their service and the longer it takes the more they make. But do they have to use a moving crew that works as slow as molasses? The crew did not move with any sense of urgency or efficiency. A move that was quoted 5 hours took 8. During the 8 hours, one crew member got overheated and stayed in the truck for an hour and when he got out would only put 2 boxes on his dolly to move into the house. Came in the house, stayed a couple minutes and then went back to get 2 more boxes. It was a very frustrating move to say the least. There was a point that I, myself started moving stuff to the truck to speed up the process. I proceeded to call the company to let them know about the sub par service we received and was bounced around from person to person with no resolution. Not only was the service bad but the customer service was horrible. As a company they should be willing to make good on the service but didn't seem to care about our issues. These guys have a great front end selling process. Very responsive. However, when it comes to your move they are not great. In fact, I wouldn't recommend them. On moving day they showed up with 2 trucks and quoted me 3. They called us and said their driver didn't show up. Then they sent a small truck hours later. When the packing was done, they left an entire trucks worth of stuff in the garage. I called them about it and they told me they underbid the move and I needed to work it out with the salesman. Now that we are moved in we are finding a lot of things that are damaged, and things where the hardware or keys are missing because they walked off in someone's pocket. For example- a husky toolbox. They loaded it with "stuff" including ALL of the keys to the overhead lockers, after I had emptied it, locked it and left with the keys. Now I have a 500 lb toolbox I can't open. After receiving an offer $150 to replace a 65" Samsung television that All My Sons broke, I thought I'd share my full experience: Just a follow-up to this, All My Sons Moving & Storage offered me $150 for the damage. On top of the broken tv, things I haven't publicly complained about: - I got a call the morning of the move telling me I would have to pay for 3 guys instead of 2 because they didn't have any 2-man teams available. - It took them nearly an hour before anything was moved outside of my place because they were "staging the truck" discussing what would need to be wrapped (literally 2 TVs). - They didn't bring any tools, as I was assured they would, to disassemble my bed and install the transit bolts in the front-loading washing machine. - They didn't install the transit bolts in the washing machine, so it's probably broken, too. Instead, they put them in the detergent container. - You thought I cussed a lot - you should have heard these guys! Yelling up and down the hallway where the neighbors could hear everything. - Assured me that the TVs were wrapped properly and secured in the trailer safely after I questioned how it was strapped to the inside of the trailer. - Was promised I would be called during the move to check on the status of things - never happened. - Was promised I would be called following the move to check on the status of things - never happened. I wish I could leave less than one star. We hired this company to move us this past Saturday and at first they were great, showed up on time, carefully wrapped our furniture and moved it, etc. We opted to pay extra for insurance just out of precautionary measure ($175) so we were fully confident our items would be covered if anything happened. Once we arrived to our new home for them to start packing, we were confronted with a bill of $1800. We had only had the movers for 3 hours at this point and they were calculating for 4 hours total. 4 x $189= $756. We asked to review the itemized receipt and that's when we realized they charge 18% of the total bill tor fuel, even though they only drove 15 miles, they charge a $189 service fee which this was explained over the phone as the trip charge fee, truck fee and fuel. So we were pretty taken back at the almost $500 in random charges. On top of that, they never mentioned or asked us about packing supplies. The moving blankets that were used on our furniture was $300!!!! I asked them to keep the blankets since we were paying way over market value for them, which they advised they weren't ours to own. I feel like this is a huge abuse of power, they should not be charging every customer for used moving blankets like they are. I could've gone to Home Depot and spent $100 and owned them, had they been transparent up front. Now, here's where it gets bad. One of the movers cut his finger during the unloading process. Instead of taking a break and cleaning his hand off and bandaging the wound, he continued to move our furniture while bleeding all over everything! He ruined our sheets, got blood all over our king sized mattress and motorized adjustable bed frame. They movers advised us to call the office immediately and open a claim. We called the local office and spoke to a man named Frank- let me just say this man needs to fired immediately!!! The way he spoke to us on the phone was appalling. He never once apologized or took responsibility on the company side. He treated us like it was our fault and inconvenience to him. He told us to wash our mattress with oxy clean.... Here's the multiple issues with that. Oxy clean does not disinfect, kill viruses or bacteria, much less blood borne pathogens. I am FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT! Being exposed to someone else's blood is so incredibly dangerous. Frank basically told us to suck it up and deal with it, and figure it out ourselves. I am also a nurse and know the rules and laws and regulations around blood and proper cleaning and disposal, so if he fact that he suggested that and then treated us like crap made me want to scream. Fast forward 2 nights of having to sleep on our couch because our blood soaked mattress, sheets and box springs are covered is someone else's blood, we were just informed by the claims team that they would not be honoring a replacement since the items aren't damaged, it's just an "inconvenience" to us. My mother called Monday so they could literally move 100 feet to the new house that they just finished building, and I kid you not they need one bed, one kitchen table, one couch, one entertainment center, one armoire, one love seat, one coffee table, and maybe 15-20 medium boxes 100 feet across the breeze way. So my mother speaks on the phone with Selena (not if sure it's spelled correctly) anyways, my mother explains to Selena how far the move would be and the items needing to be moved, then letting her know that no truck would be needed, etc. Selena then tells her that it's going to cost $199 for the labor and $65 dollars for the trip charge (gas) ,nothing more was mentioned about the price after my mom repeated that she understood, so they scheduled a time and Selena tells my mother that Chris would be her mover and that they would be at the house at 8 am. Sounds good, right? WRONG!!!!!! So today (Thursday) Matt the, assistant manager, calls and bursts the bubble and gives my mother the REAL price. He breaks it all down, there is $199 charge with a 2 hour minimum, the truck charge, etc. Matt gives her the full price of what the move would cost... and he says it's going to be $794!!!! How do you go from telling someone $199 and skipping all the details of the other charges? That's ridiculous!! SCAMMER!! I wouldn't use this company after this horrible experience. Moving is stressful enough as it is on top of a company hiding all the charges up until a few days before the move. Tim, the General Manager, calls my mother and during this call he becomes very unprofessional and says "listen here girl" wow!!! Well, i will start with the biggest issue PRICE! I was quoted a range of $300-500. Ended up paying $1100 for 16 items. was called 2 different times to confirm address and contents, second call i was told the other guy didnt save the information. Thats actually a good thing, but all my stuff was big furniture that you could just drape a blanket over Took 3 guys over 2 hrs to load 16 items. Well where do we start? Not recommended. Please please shop around for other companies and research reviews. Had a really nice man convincing us to consider this company over Black Tie that quoted us $5K less on bid vs all my sons. Unfortunately we chose them. Be cautious, what they pre-bid they run with it! We ended up NOT using them for packing us up... just to move. They pre-quoted our package materials and the hourly cost for labor to pack us up! We did NOT have them pack us up or box us up WE DID, but yet they still charged us for that! We didn't know where we were moving to since we didn't have a place picked out yet, the people buying our home forced us out in less than 30 days. This company had to only move us into Pods that were on our property (25 feet on the driveway). Pods did the rest. ( Pods is yet another bad company we don't recommend)! On the flip side we found a place over the river and 38 miles yet it was more expensive and more than double to move the boxes into new home. Also, they didn't bother to read where the boxes were labeled and mixed up everything scattered between different bedrooms and the attic. So badly, it took us 6 weeks to find the parts for our bed so we could not sleep in our bed until we found the box (on the back porch by-the -way)!!!!! Months and months to find and rearrange. Plus, they broke tons of our belongings, family heirlooms and nick nacks. A sports exercise ball (14 years) was sliced by a worker cutting the boxes apart. They only give cents per pound for compensation. Calling them was overall "CONDESCENDING" towards us and they unwillingly gave a little chump change refund that did not truly justify the additional charges incurred. Only one worker was kind and respectful to our family. We rewarded them with free gifts from the move. Where do we start? First sign was we had to call them to ask when they would arrive and they had forgotten to send someone. Then when they do arrive the most experienced person on the crew was 1 month on the job and 2 people this was their first job. Then they load up truck and still have living room and garage to load. So then they have to go back and get a second truck. They don't mark any boxes, barely wrap and protect your items and man does it show when they deliver. Items are all beat up and scratched up and wrong couch arrives and 2 weeks later we are missing items. Can't use tv or roku as the remotes are all lost. All the master bath belongings are lost. No word from them on damaged items that they claimed to have a started a claim when they dropped off belongings. If you have nothing of value; I highly recommend. This morning I get a confirmation call and was told there is an additional fuel charge of 16% of the entire bill even though your already paying $139 travel fee. Oh Yeah and we need to add a packing fee even if we pack our own things they mandate they wrap all contents going into the truck, as well as a plastic mattress cover. If I could give less than one star I would, which is unfortunate because there was a time when I would have given this company 5 stars. (I had used them years ago and had a completely different experience). We scheduled our move for the first day of the month; because, when moving from one apartment to the other that's the typical move in day. I booked my move and was told the 3 men would arrive around 1-2 p.m. The customer service representative said that the movers would call when they are 30 minutes out. However, I got a call the day of my move, at the time the movers are supposed to arrive, informing me that three crews didn't show up that morning. Because of this they would not be able to move me that day and asked if I was flexible on my move date. I'm not sure about you, but my move date was pretty set in stone since I had to be out of my current apartment the next day. I was left with no other option but to take off work the next day, and agree to let movers come from a different All My Sons location and move my things. I felt as though this was the only option because I didn't have friends or family to help me, a truck rented, or enough time to secure a more professional moving company. The following day the movers came at 7 p.m. Everything was fine until the unload when they broke one of the legs of my antique table. Then came the bill. We were quoted around $350 -- a reasonable amount to move from a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment. In the end the move cost us $614 (not counting the tip). I was appalled that I was charged extra for fuel because they had to send a crew from out of my location's area. The crew manager said there was nothing he would do I would have to pay and call corporate about getting some of the money back. I called the corporate office and after being jerked around on what department I needed to be in contact with, I eventually left messages for 4 different departments and filled out a damages claim. That was two months ago. Despite multiple efforts no one with the authority to help me has contacted me back. I wouldn't recommend this company to people I hate, much less anyone I like. My experience wasn't the best, and to be honest I feel slightly scammed. I was moving to a 1 bedroom from my 2 bedroom in the same complex, just a different building. They quoted me 159/hr and with an estimate of 2 hrs the rate would be around $553. I figured since I don't have a lot of stuff and I'm in the same complex without needing to travel that it could be done fairly quickly. They told me the arrival would be between 830am and 9am, but they got there around a quarter to 10 and they started their time at 10am. They seemed a little stuck on where to start and who would do what that it took them 2 and a half hrs to load up the truck. The guy even mentioned that I wasn't going to fill up more than half the truck because I didnt have much. Then by the time they got to the new apartment at 1240 and then told me the total which was over 1k. I called to see if there was anything they could do with the price as that was more than double of what I was expecting and he only knocked off $50 for gas since they didn't have to drive far. Then because they didn't use their time efficiently they said their boss told them to had to leave to go to another Job and that they couldn't put my bed back together. I then had to call management for a second time and I couldn't tell if they just said that to get it done and over with or if their boss really told them they had to leave. Next time I am better off moving myself They told me that I'd be their first move in the morning, by 10 o'clock I had no phone call, no update or anything. I call around that time asking where the movers were at and why I wasn't called. They said that one of the drivers decided not to show up today so I'd have to wait. They should be there around 1. 1:30 no follow up phone call, they said they will be there around 3:00 after I called in again. Next they showed up at 3:15. This company took days upon days to get my family and I moved into our new house. We now realize that the reason it took forever is because this company charges by the hour, so the entire time they were just doing busy work to get more money out of us rather than actually help us move. They took about furniture, candle operas, chairs, and put them into a million different pieces, and then left them for us to figure out how to put them back together. They also put many dents in the wall and damages on our brand new home when moving us in. This really hurts me to add this. I wanted to believe that professional movers would take care of my items because they're being paid to do it. However, they didn't. I first got packers from AMS to pack up the majority of my items for a move. There was only one man there that was actually taking care of my items. He did an excellent job. He was an older gentleman that didn't seem to hunch over. He and Goeff(?) were both great. However, the team did not seem to bring any writing implements and all mine were packed up. I did happen to find a sharpie later on that was used by the older gentleman for a few boxes and then it became lost. So 98% of my boxes weren't even labeled. It was literally a hunt for items. I had antique furniture that was moved with me that sustained heavy damage. I'm extremely disappointed. The team that ended up packing the rest of my items didn't both to bring anything to write with and thusly, those boxes were not labeled either. The few individuals that did come to pack (three) spent the majority of the day packing. Those individuals moved us and that was the sad part. After finally getting through the walls and walls of boxes left in my garage, there was a lot of damage to my items. In one corner, I have four huge heavy boxes sitting on a tiny box full of Christmas ornaments that were all broken. How does that actually happen? My electricity panel was completely blocked when we lost electricity so it was a challenge trying to move everything to get to our panel. There was only one member that was loading everything in the garage and I believe he was the one at fault, however, I don't know for certain, for the majority of my broken items. I'm really really sad that my antique furniture took on heavy damage. I paid well over $3000 to get packed and moved to have a lot of things not labeled and broken. Absolutely the most unorganized company I've ever dealt with, after booking with them we received between 10 and 15 calls from them asking if we wanted help with our move, lol, no joke, they do not communicate within. That's just the beginning, we were promised that the 1st hour is free of charge, well that's not the case, when I brought this up with Sammy, he was completely unprofessional and when the conversation didn't go his way he started taking and yelling over me. We were moving an air hockey table and a couch from the 2nd floor to the garage, I was aware about the 2 hour minimum charge, I was fine with that knowing this work would be done in about an hour or so, I would not have been fine with that if I wasn't promised a free 1st hour, so for 60 minutes of work we were charged over $750.00, I would never have agreed to that. Basically their travel time and gas that they also charge should have been the free hour, we would have been fine paying the two hour charge, they basically called me a liar and and said it's not in the contract, so be careful what they promise you over the phone to get you to sign up. When it was time to pay that was another fiasco, the driver didn't have a card reader so they wanted me to write all my credit card info, number, exp date and CCV code on a piece of paper and give it to the driver, lol, I declined, I then received three calls for payment, I asked Ryan to hold on as I was speaking with his driver and he hung up. Three days before the move I called them to confirm and see what time they would be at my house. From this point on, communication was horrible. When I called, Jason, the manager, was very impatient with me and asked, "what's your question?!" He then told me he couldn't tell me a time and would call me tomorrow or the next day. He finally called the night before the move at 6 pm and I missed the call. I tried calling him back several times that night before giving up and going to bed. The next morning, I called at 8 o'clock and they decided to send me a crew in the afternoon. The crew was okay... one worker was incompetent and slow. They did damage a couple things including my smart TV... I was charged for materials that were not used and extra time as well. Wow I'm shocked by the reviews. We just used them this morning to move from a 3 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom apartment. They were able to get here a few hours earlier than expected. They loaded up in 45 mins and unloaded in a little over an hour and a 15 mins. These 2 guys were kind, courteous, quick, efficient, and careful with each item. I have a 75 year old chest I was so worried about, and not even a tiny scratch to be found. I was thrilled at how professional these 2 men were and wished everyone would've had these guys moving them. We paid exactly what we were quoted. I think my bill was just over $400 and the best $400 I could've spent. It was a scorcher of a day and you wouldn't have known it with these 2. They didn't show discomfort at all. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!! DO NOT USE!! We booked 2 months in advance and paid a deposit. Moving day rolls around and we actually had to call them to make sure they are coming and they tell us that they have to cancel and we should call around to see if we can find somebody else!!! Of coarse since last minute we could not find anybody. All my sons then tells us that they can for sure get us in the following morning.... The next morning, we had to call again to confirm that they will arrive in an hour. Once again they said they have to cancel!!!! Absolutely horrible communication!! And now it's four weeks later and we still have not received our deposit back. So they pretty much stole $ from us. WORST COMPANY EVER!!! read more

TL;DR: we booked AMS for our move. When they decided to change the price after booking, we were given the option to refund our deposit. A month later, we are still waiting for that refund. We moved at the end of June. Our favorite moving company was unfortunately booked, which led us to All My Sons. The interactions all started off great, so we decided to book their service. We were told a price not once or twice but three separate times. An hour after we signed the agreement and put down a deposit we were contacted by the "manager" and was told the price was actually $40/hour more than the first three quotes because "it is a busy day to move". We said that was unacceptable and requested 24 hours to find a new moving company. They said if we did there would be no problem refunding our deposit. (We did in fact find a new moving company: Brown Box Movers. They were amazing! They brought an additional guy for no charge, very polite, nothing was broken, overall went above and beyond and they were a fraction of the price of AMS.) Anyway, the next morning before we even had a chance to call All My Sons, the district manager called several times. When we had a free moment to speak with him, he stuck by the manager saying "this is just what it is" or my favorite: "At least we told you now instead of the day before the move." This company made it seem as if it the price change was our fault and therefore our problem. This manager refused to give me the number of anyone higher than him. He did say that he would refund our deposit and we all went our separate ways. After we got settled in the new home we noticed we still had not received the deposit back. I once again called and they said they would process the refund. It has now been a month since the initial promise of a returned deposit and we are still waiting. read more

***BEWARE**** Paid 3 times more than the quoted price, and we only moved across the street in the same complex. The movers also stole my husbands PlayStation and controller. Called the company that same day and they wouldn't question the people who moved us. We had to go out of our way to file a police report for them to do anything. It's been 7 months and they still haven't reimbursed us. Update: Year later and the company still hasn't reached out to us! It's amazing that this company is still in business. read more

Many hidden costs. Management is extremely customer unfriendly and when we tried to explain our problem all the manager and employee did was argue extensively with us. Hugely disrespectful. Never did hear our full story. Additionally, they got lost while trying to find our place and charged us for all the extra time (almost an hour). The guys who did the actual moving were great and very understanding, and they worked very hard. Our issues were with management. read more
