The team at All Pets is amazing. They have been caring for our kitties for years and know us by name when we walk in. The care received is top notch. When our 15 year old kitty was dying in May 2020 (during the Covid shut down), the team was compassionate and called regularly to check in on her. Our youngest kitty has terrible food and environmental allergies and they worked with us for almost 3 years to find the cause and never gave up on her. Not only were my dogs in good hands, with every member of the staff...they all showed my babies love and kindness, with excellent acumen and attention to detail. What really pushed me over the edge is the patience Dr. Empert-Gallegos displayed as she showed me how to check for any problems at home. She performed the check, then guided me as I performed the check with her watching. At the end, she provided me with a how-to guide that I could take home to do monthly checks. Just a warning... I brought my healthy French Bulldog to All Pets for a routine visit. The vet on staff confirmed this during his checkup and I scheduled his visit for vaccines the next day, we brought him in and all was well until it wasn't. Within hours of that visit he started having severe cluster seizures, one right after the other. While my dog was actively seizing I called the office asking for help. I was told it would require a new problem visit and that I would need to schedule an appointment and pay "like any other client". I asked if I could speak with a veterinarian and was told by the front staff that vaccines do not cause seizures. I rushed my dog to VEG Emergency in Encinitas. The veterinarians there told me that in some cases receiving multiple vaccines in one visit can precipitate seizures in certain dogs. My dog unfortunately continued to struggle with seizures after that. I hate having to say I was driving past All Pets on my way to VEG while he was having breakthrough seizures and ultimately passed in my passenger seat as I held his paw. I never received any follow up from All Pets. No one reached out to ask what happened, check on him, or offer condolences. I just wanted people to know what happened, so they can make an informed decision. read more

On the morning of 06/24/2025, I dropped at off my big beautiful, healthy, happy Weimaraner "Ella" a sentient being to All Pets Animal Hospital in Encinitas, CA and she never got to come home. I entrusted All Pet Hospital's Dr Rebecca de Castellanos (aka Dr D and Dr RDC) to perform a tooth extraction. At around 12-12:30 pm I received a call from Dr Rebecca de Castellanos telling me that a total of 4 teeth needed to be removed. I approved the additional extractions. At approximately 2:30pm, Dr Rebecca de Castellanos called telling me Ella was in critical condition, that they (All Pets Animal Hospital) could no longer help her. Dr D said Ella's month was swelling for an unknown reason, that she did not know why. Dr D said that I needed to come and transport my 65lb, Weimaraner to an Emergency Veterinary Facility. I asked Dr D if they could transport her, I was at least 30 minutes away. Dr D. mumbled saying they could not. In shock, crying in panic I drove to All Pets Animal Hospital in Encinitas, CA through the I5 Del Mar Fair traffic. Frantically calling friends for help to get Ella to an ER. I arrived in 40-45 minutes. In shock, crying I told the front desk staff that I was there to pick up Ella, they looked at me with surprise and shock. Shortly thereafter Dr D came to the lobby, me still crying I asked if this had anything to do with the high liver enzyme. Dr D's immediate response was that I requested to move forward with surgery. This was Dr D's attempt at deflecting and blaming me for Ella's condition. A high liver enzyme had absolutely nothing to do with what happened. Dr D. continued repeating that she was sorry and did not know why this was happening. Dr D. said she had been calling around other vets for "advice" on Ella's swelling. DR D. said she had never seen this before in her career. Meanwhile I friends arrived to help and witnessed all of this. And after 20-30 minutes of asking for help on how I was going to move her and where. During all this time, Ella condition was worsening continuing to swell. All Pets Animal Hospital finally decided to assist us in getting Ella transported. It took over an hour from the time I arrived for them to get Ella on the road. Ella was brought out on a stretcher and loaded into my SUV. Ella's state was horrific, her tongue was massively swollen bright red with her tongue projected out of her mouth. Under anesthesia, intubated, an IV swinging, beeping monitor, and an air bag being pumped. Two techs monitored Ella. During the drive amidst beeping monitors Dr Rebecca de Castellanos talked about her successful dental work. Note: The facts would later come out that Dr Rebecca de Castellanos jabbed Ella in her mouth causing massive internal bleeding in her mouth. The massive internal bleeding caused tissue to under Ella's tongue and her tongue to swell projecting it out of her mouth. It also caused swelling in her neck per the necropsy. The necropsy also showed that when Ella's mouth was dissection, blood and blood clots poured out. Dr D, never told me what she did. I read in the Medical notes. The Emergency Veterinary Facility was another 30 minutes away. Ella was admitted to Emergency Veterinary Facility with 24-hour care at her side. Unable to recover from the massive swelling caused by the internal bleeding from being jabbed in the mouth and having aspired under Dr Rebecca de Castellanos's care. Ella passed away on the evening of 06/26/2025. Back at the All Pets Animal parking on 6/24/2025 after Ella's transport to ER. And with me still in shock I used an immense amount grace and thanked you. To those All Pets Animal Hospital staff who commented that Ella was nervous, as sentient being, she had the mental compacity of child. She was afraid of being poked and prodded by you. Maybe she had a premonition. Just that morning I told her it was okay, encouraging her to follow you to her death at drop off. I left imagining I would have Ella back home soon in a few hours, in her bed, with me sleeping in the living room calming her throughout the night as she recovered. But Ella is dead. I cannot express in words the daily sickness I feel at Ella's loss, loss of her future the loss our future together. I lost everything. Ella lost her life. She was a rescue, with happy story until what you did. Ella was my child, yes, a fur baby. There will be no more Christmas or any holidays with her. My life and the life of my friends and family is now inexplicitly and forever traumatized. I am sick as I write this. Nothing relieves the pain of her loss. What happened to Ella is abhorrent to modern society, to those who love their pets and entrust them to your care. Ella was my family. There is no forgiveness. May you never rest in peace. To anyone reading this, save your comments. Please use your voice to protect your pets. There are no laws in California to protect you or your pet. Brought my dog in for his yearly visit and for flea medication. Waited 1/2 hour to finally be brought back to room(I get it, businesses get busy), although no one informed me they were running behind. The intake person in the room seemed to be really taking her time asking questions, the same questions the doctor would have asked as well. She left and came back 5 minutes later and said the doctor was running behind and it would be another possible 15-20 minutes. I asked if she could guarantee that since we would be there for almost an hour. Of course, she could not. So of course we left. No call from them apologizing or offering a new appointment. Have a staff that knows what they are doing maybe?? They almost killed my lizard by giving her DOUBLE the amount she was supposed to receive for her mite treatment and charged me damn near $2000 in X-rays/exams without showing proof of anything. I had to rush to an emergency vet 30 minutes away while she was seizing in my lap. Not to mention the old bag at the front chased me out trying to get me to pay more!! You almost killed my lizard!! Hector started peeing in the house A LOT when he is house broken. It was going on 2 weeks & my lack of dog knowledge was very clear. Telling my mom & bf's mom, they figured he had a medical condition. My mom googled vets & I started making phone calls around 10pm on 1/28/22. Proud to me making my calls, my mom talked to a helpful person at a vet place who agreed he had an UTI. With my phone calls, I take to someone in San Marcos, but they were emergency only and with a 4 hr wait which would put us at 2am to be there. The girl said she goes to Thrive in Escondido, so I checked them out. Upon checking out Thrive, they also listed other vets which had All Pets Hospital located in Encinitas. I called All Pets Hospital and they returned my call at 9am saying they had an opening at 2pm. I immediately took it because I wanted to make sure Hector got treated ASAP. The staff are so nice! Marney who is the one who called me and upon meeting her, she's is just so nice & fun. The vet technologist Courtney is great and fun and really liked Hector. The doctor, Dr. Lopez is so nice & did due diligence for Hector. During the temperature check, Hector peed & used that pee for diagnosing instead of waiting for him to go. Upon results, it was confirmed he had an UTI. Very quick to prescribe medication & you get to take it the same. The next day, they even sent a text to check on him. We have found a new doctor! I totally recommend them & not only are they caring & nice, they know what they're doing. read more

The vet I dealt with was awful. She acted like she had other, more important, things on her mind. My poor cat was suffering and she did not seem to care. She ordered a test and told me she would call the next day with the results. I received no call, so I called the clinic. I was told the vet was unavailable but would call me back. I really like the doctors here but after getting quotes from other vets in the area it became extremely apparent that they overcharge by a lot. After calling multiple animal hospitals, this was the only one that made a same day appointment for my dog that has a lesion for several days and it was getting worse so of course concerning as his mama! My teddy bear hamster I adopted several months ago,from a friend had suddenly fell ill, after keeping tabs on her eating and exercising it was time to bring her in. Unfortunately I knew in my gut she was suffering and needed to be put to sleep. I first spoke with Jen about my Hazel, she was kind, empathetic, calm and made me feel assured everything was ok! She said "no matter how big or small...they're our babies". Where the other vets mocked my concern for my hamster. I explained I felt she was declining and I was prepared to put her sleep. She told me to bring her in despite the exotic vet wasn't available, they could evaluate and assist Hazel. I brought her in a blubbering crying mess, Jen and the other lovely girl, gently examined Hazel and gave her some critical care food and expressed there was a chance she could pull through, to be positive, and have Dr. Murillo (the next morning) take a thorough examination and I would have more time to spend with my baby. Hazel started declining more through the night, I placed her in a warm towel on my chest and her and I snuggled and slept on the couch. The next morning Dr. Murillo was certain it was a fatal tumor, and we put sweet Hazel to rest. The staff was so nice, gentle, loving and they made her passing easier to cope.. I love this place, overall the staff are very professional and the vets will call you and talk to you personally regarding your pet for a check up call if needed. There's only one flaw I have found, one of the people that work in the front at check in/check out, likes to call customers "sweetheart", which I find rude and somewhat unprofessional in a back handed sort of way. I appreciate all the staff/ vets that work here. Everyone is so nice and make my dog Ellie feel as comfortable as possible. I always would fear my dog being scared of going to the vet but she absolutely loves it! Everyone is super informative, and I enjoy learning new stuff each time I go. As a new dog mom they helped me learn how to properly clean her ears, and what foods are best for my puppy. Very expensive with, if you want to pay more for medication and prescriptions then by all means you should go to "All Pets Animal Hospital". Our dog was originally diagnosed by "All Pets Animal Hospital" with this arthritis. The Doctor recommend Adequan and quickly wrote a prescription. The Doctor informed us that our dog would need to take Adequan for life. We began issuing our dog Adequan several years ago, however only just recently Dr. Murillo said we need to come in for $175 visit each time we want a prescription.... If our dog is going to need to take Adequan for her entire life, then why do we need to start coming in for $175 visit every couple of months in order to get a prescription..... The good news....We contacted another local veterinarian told him what was going on and he took a look at our dog, issued the prescription for $80 and told us that there was no need to come in for a visit each time we needed a prescription. In short, were saving about $700 a year now. In conclusion, I highly recommend you take a look at other veterinarians if you think your dog is going to need medicine. "All Pets Animal Hospital" probably has a lot of overhead and costs associated with their lease as they are in Encinitas and they pass those costs right on to the customer. Don't take my word for it, do your due diligence and look at some of the other complaints in regard to "All Pets Animal Hospital". read more

BUT you were open for business with a receptionist who sent me the BEST and most detailed list of other animal hospitals in the county, what days they are open, what animals they see, etc. It is not easy to find a vet who is open on Sun. AND sees exotic pets like guinea pigs AND who had a last minute opening. But with your awesome list we were able to find someone. Cali and I just got home a bit ago from our first visit to All Pets. My senior pup has been dealing with some gut issues for awhile now and my friend referred me to All Pets today as I was literally driving to an emergency vet as I was concerned Cali may have a partial bowel obstruction. The lady I spoke with at the front desk was super sweet and helpful and was able to squeeze us in right away & I couldn't be more grateful. Cali has always been super anxious and weary of the vet, but as soon as Dr. Alysia walked into the room, he went immediately up to her and started giving her kisses. I was a bit shocked as I have never seen him do that at the vet in his lifetime! Don't get me wrong, he loves people and is the sweetest dog, but he is always hesitant when we are at the vet. I'm a firm believer that dogs can sense good people, so I knew we were in great hands with Dr. Alysia.
