Although we ended up not using All Pro, I cannot speak highly enough about their professionalism and their prompt response to all my questions. My husband I partially remodeled our kitchen for the first time since buying the house 29 years ago so it was very dated. To keep costs down and because our cabinets were "back in style" we decided to have them painted instead of resurfacing or tearing them out completely. I have had several painters complete work in the past but was never thrilled with the results. Sloppy work, messy workspace, dust and over-priced come to mind. For our remodel I received three quotes from unknown local painters I found on Angie's List. The first gentleman talked over me, told me some things I wanted just couldn't be done and then provided a quote that was ridiculously high as well as making it clear he would be doing none of the painting but would "check in" every day to see the progress. The second gentleman kept telling me what he thought I should do in my kitchen and how great he was and then failed to email the quote at all. The third was Allterior Painting. Tam Nguyen is the owner and he's awesome! He showed up on time. He's very personable and he listened! He had a "can-do" attitude for the more difficult things I was asking of him. He emailed his quote to me that very day and it was completely reasonable. Tam's crew consisted of Carlos, Sergio and Gustavo whom all worked alongside him. They showed up at 8:00 am sharp and worked until 5:00 or longer each day. They sanded and prepped my kitchen, pantry and windows with such care that when it came time to paint everything turned out GORGEOUS! He even painted the interiors of all the cabinets which I hadn't expected. He installed all the new hardware after filling the old holes like they were never there. He measured everything perfectly and corrected cabinets that weren't hanging properly. There were no shortcuts whatsoever and he used very high quality paint. Tam guarantees all of his work. All our walls and ceilings are completely smooth. I was so happy with how absolutely perfect the ceilings in particular came out!! Tam was very easy to work with and his crew was very respectful. I did have some issues with his practices: - His guys used plastic to cover the floors and when holes were ripped in them, no one replaced them so paint got all over our floors (even over a week later I am still finding spots to clean up). - It was very obvious that someone who was more experienced did some rooms and someone less experienced did other rooms. Baseboards were dropped on and not as crisp. - We we're quoted a Monday finish that turned into Thursday. Granted, we understand things take longer sometimes, but getting an exact date for finishing wasn't fun when you're trying to move in to the house being worked on. - Tam left a truck in our driveway which was initially okay with us as he said he would pick it up the next day. To our surprise, two days later the truck was still there (and yes the work was already done). We had things to unload and called Tam to ask him to immediately come get his car. Two hours later, he came to get it. We were very offended by the lack of respect and nonchalance of just parking a car in someone else's driveway. - During the initial walkthrough, I let Tam know which color was to go where. He wrote nothing down and three days later I came to check on the work and a room had been painted the incorrect color. It wasn't the crew's fault and Tam should have written things down. Overall, the house got painted and it looks nice, but it was quite the road to get there. read more
