Almost every person involved was shady and underhanded, which is why Iucked out by having Chuck and Todd on my side. Todd did a great and thorough job inspecting the home. Because of the hoarder's clutter in the home, a dishonest seller and resentful tenants that would barely let us in, he wasn't able to inspect some aspects of the home, and Chuck volunteered to come back before closing if there was access and inspect the areas/things that were blocked on the original inspection (at no-charge). These are the most straightforward, on the level guys. Reasonable and on your side. The deal ended up going south, and the seller's agent/new buyers tried to pressure Chuck into giving them the inspection report and he immediately called to tell me, I would've never known, but he is so honest and legit--- he's that guy. This entire experience has been extraordinarily disheartening and if it wasn't for the great guys at above grade I would have 1) been doubly screwed over, and 2) lost all faith in humanity. Also, the phone support they provided me and going through the inspection report and talking through the process was beyond expectations. They are seriously great, we are still looking and without a doubt I'm going to be hiring them to inspect the next place.

He schooled us in every room giving us the knowledge of what to look for in our search for a new home. During the inspection Chuck pointed out many things that could be worrisome in the future and eventually found something that was extreme enough to be a deal breaker. He explained to us how extensive a fix each issue would be so we can then decide if the issue was worth it to resolve. At the end of the day he saved us a huge headache and most likely thousands of dollars on issues that would eventually turn what we thought was a dream home into a money pit. Most home buyers spend maybe 30 minutes to an hour maybe 1.5 hours at a property. Sven invested four hours of his time at the property and found over 148 issues with a property that we thought was close to turnkey. He also offered a discount with our next inspection. It is hard to overstate how professional he is and how much he cares about his craft. You would be incredible lucky to work with Sven and his team. They are honest, thorough and will teach you so much about home inspection even if you've been through the process several times. It's important to know that there's a range in price for home inspectors, but you are indeed buying a home. Sven's prices are extraordinarily fair for what he offers. Less than a year after I purchase the house I found that my rim joists were completely rotted, my beams were dry rotted due to years of moisture exposure. Upon inspection from several contractors it was agreed and found that I had a major moisture problem in my basement that if not fixed my foundation was going to crumble and the dry rotted beams would eventually give way and my house would collapse. They were able to measure the moisture with a simple handheld machine. The only thing this Matt guy had was a screwdriver. I was pointblank told that the inspector screwed me. It is now costing me thousands of dollars to correct the moisture problem and then thousands more to replace all the rotted wood and beams and joists In this house and yes I got several opinions. Plus the inspection was not cheap at all... somewhere in the 1500-1800's. I thought at that price I would get a thorough inspection. Don't use this company. Use someone else and have a contractor you trust come in behind them and double check. Sure wish I did because I am now screwed.

We had to pay another inspector to come out and tell us it was inactive, and had been painted over years before.

We learned later that stepping over and around the pump like this can skew the results and create artificially high airborne results. When we learned this and asked him to come back to redo the air sample testing - he denied that he stepped over the pump or that an error was made. Lack of integrity. Protect your pocketbook and go somewhere else. We now need to redo our testing with another company.
