The part I don't care for, and it's no fault of this place or of anyone at all, is a service at holiday times. It sucks for the family. This place does its best to make a calming experience for a family and visitors during a difficult and painful time. The colors are muted, the lighting is soft. Those arriving via the front door will be greeted by someone giving direction to the appropriate spot. There is a smaller room off to the side that on this visit had coffee and cookies for those who wanted to mingle before or after the receiving line. There's a step down into the main viewing area, but there is a wheelchair accessible ramp. I can't speak anything about the funeral director(s) or how they are in interactions with the bereaved, but they oversee and provide a place with a nice affect reflecting the (sad) purpose of its business.

Being there with gray clouds gave it a movie style look. We were looking for husband's family buried there in the early to late 1900's, therefore the flat stones are covered in grass. So we will have to uncover some of the graves. Otherwise there were no living souls in the entire cemetery. Must have been the storm that was coming in. The area outside of the grounds seems a little sketchy.

Our most recent burial witnessed a member of the grounds crew desecrate the memory of our brother who was having his ashes buried on that day. This employee took a floral arrangement that had been set up on a table as we prepared for a committal service and threw it into the open cremation grave. We were mortified and when we complained to the cemetery office we were told basically "we do our best". Are these the same employees that are unloading the remains for the crematory? We are not going to take the chance.

When it was time to leave to the cemetery, everything was done in an organized fashion. I'm so happy that one of the employees from the funeral home politely came to my car door to make sure I had my lights and flashers on. They made sure that we got through the traffic lights safely and to the cemetery. It wasn't close by but it was just enough time to prepare for the last good bye to my friend.

The place itself is a decent size, it held lots of family and friends without a problem. They have a space in the front for food and beverages. They also have a space down in the basement for children or to hold more people if needed. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. All of the workers at Craciun were super sweet and very helpful. That made this very hard time a little easier for all of us and I just wanted to say a big thank you to them for all that you do.
