    sink that doesn't drain

To start it off, there were cobwebs in all corners of the room (pictured). There were spiders in our room. When using the sink, it didn't drain causing gross buildup (pictured). The tv was in black and white and the remote didn't even work. Our bed spreads were stained so we could not even use them and The walls were dirty (pictured). The windows had no screen causing safety concerns. There was people outside partying and being sketchy at 4:30am. For the quality of this room and hotel, the price is NOT worth it.

Even if they burned this place to the ground I don't think it would kill all the bugs and mold.

Joseph answered and said absolutely. Come on down! They had mini sewing kits and he gave me two! The nightmare was over. The rates weren't half bad and everything was very clean. Continental breakfast was pretty good. Though I think the juices were a little watered down. The digital key didn't work and I ended up having to go to the front desk anyway. Minor inconvenience. I'd stay here again if we were in the area.

I had to nudge her twice before she finally appeared, seemingly more preoccupied with her laptop, logging into her desktop, and reviewing my reservation at length...... If it weren't for the persistent BO (body odor) smell in my room, the paint smudges embedded in the armchair, the sticky carpeting, and, lastly, the unexpected incidental charges, this location would have had it all. The hotel appears to be frequented by temporary construction workers, which may explain some of the overall wear and atmosphere. That said, it has an excellent location, with steps leading directly to a wonderful bike trail along the Cape Cod Canal. If the bushes along the hotel steps to the Canal were trimmed and better maintained, the setting would have been nearly perfect. Otherwise, a wonderful, cheerful male attendant who was working in the early afternoon kindly gave me directions to the bike trail. Thank you! -- 9/8/26

So, it was safe to say my expectations were not that high. Wow!!!!!! I was totally wrong about that. The owner Tabitha, greeted me upon arrival w/a beaming smile and a big & fun personality. When I got to my room, it was one of the coziest, cutest, and serene hotel rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. After I brought my bags in my room and got situated, I walked around the grounds of the hotel and noticed they offered an outdoor almost (back yardish) spot for entertaining guests, complete with a small gazebo, fire pit, outdoor games, a table to dine or relax at w/chairs and small love seat, and a grill! Later on while trying to decide on a local restaurant to order dinner from, the grill that I had seen earlier popped into my head. I thought to myself, I'll go ask the owner if the grill is available for guests to cook dinner on? I figured the owner would probably laugh at me and tell me absolutely not. After I asked her this question, Tabitha (w/a big smile on her face) told me that she had purchased the grill for the guest to have a different option other than ordering out. So, I jumped in my car and drove down to Stop & Shop and bought a New York strip steak, fresh asparagus, fresh scallions, fresh mushrooms, and fresh ingredients to make a salad. I went to bed that night with not only a big smile on my face because of the hospitality, but also a pretty big sized full belly from the dinner I consumed! If you and your significant other ever decide to escape every day life and head down to the Cape for a great date night, I highly recommend reserving a room at "The Inn at Buzzards Bay"

The next morning they had me up at the crack of dawn and into the car before i could object. An hour and 10 minutes later we pulled up at the Bay Motor Inn. Cutest little cottages and a nice big pool. This was already looking good. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Irene, the proprietor, who made us right at home. The cottages were perfect, the kids had one and the boy an I had an adjacent cottage (complete with a cute little porch). The rooms were clean and well appointed, air conditioned and they even shuffled us around when we saw the porch unit. Fred and Irene could not have been better hosts. As we relaxed by the pool they made us feel like we were long lost friends. What a comfort in today's world of "institutional lodging". We had such a great time on day one that we stayed an extra day. Aside from the hotel's amenities and charming hosts the Motel was located in a perfect position for us. We could easily scoot to beautiful beaches, take a walk along the canal and even take the kids bowling, mini golfing and go kart riding (I lost all three but it was worth it for the family time!). Looking for a great, affordable getaway? Check it out... we loved it and we're already planning our next escape to "The Bay"! Shhh .... don't tell anyone ... I'd like to keep this one for me and the boy!

While I can…read moreunderstand it is an old building and definitely outdated parts of the rooms but the cleanliness should have been much better. Especially since they called us saying we could check in early if we chose to because the room was ready early. They had plenty of time to do a better job. The coverings over the box string and mattress were very stained, almost everything had a coating of dust, a couple of the towels had markings and the shower liner also had stains. The dust was so bad in the room that we had to get allergy medicine because we woke up feeling awful from the dust. We removed a fake plant coated in dust from the room moving it to the hall and got cleaning supplies from the front desk to clean the AC, fan, etc. The AC was horribly coated like it hasn't been dusted or had the filter cleaned in years. Also, the AC barely worked to cool down the room. The dust was piled on the lights, door frame trim, baseboards, and so on. The bathroom could highly benefit from even minor upgrades. The threshold holding down the linoleum was popping up from the floor, the shower head was practically an outdoor water spigot that you'd see at the beach to wash sand off, and there was no vent to deal with moisture from the shower. For other updates the ceiling has visible water damage marks and cracks along the walls. The continental breakfast is just highly processed pastries and sugary cereals. Some fruit would've been a cheap and desirable option. Quite a bit of noise from the music in the restaurant and could hear banging / foot steps from down stairs anytime of the day. Only giving this place 2 stars because the front desk workers were nice. But a stretch to call it a hotel. Extremely disappointed that we paid to stay in such discomfort but being summer in the cape options were limited to switch after seeing the room. It is hard to find funding could be a source of issue for cleaning properly or basic up keep when they have two restaurants and rooms they are charging a decent amount of money for.

The location is perfect for those who want walkable access to local attractions in Onset. The beach is literally right across the street and is perfect for a quick frolick without having to lug around the needed beach accessories. The interior of the hotel is beautifully designed. It's slightly archaic (in a good way) and it felt like being inside someone's home. Check in was very easy, and they even called us to let us know that we could check in early (which we didn't since we arrived about an hour late). The room was cozy and clean. Don't expect lots of bells and whistles; it's set up is simplistic and I prefer that. Be aware though that there isn't a refrigerator in the room. They do provide 24 hour access to a fridge down in the lobby where you can get yogurt, water, juice, and milk. The included continental breakfast doesn't include any hot food, but they do give fresh coffee and hot water for tea and oatmeal. They also have cold cereal (great for kids), muffins, and granola bars. I would've liked hot foods to be available, but I think what they offered was fine especially for the fair pricing. The dining experience was fantastic. We had dinner here two nights: Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday night was quiet, and we ate on the outer deck. Our waitress (can't remember her name) was absolutely fantastic and knew the menu very well. She made some great suggestions and we loved everything we had. I strongly suggest the bruschetta. Thursday night was a bit different as they had live music in their downstairs bar (the 1883 lounge). We ordered mostly appetizers while enjoying the performance from Michael Paul Brennan. They had a coconut shrimp special which was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered that night was just as good as Tuesday. The service on both nights was also very good. We never had to wait around for our waitresses and they never rushed us throughout the evening. Overall our stay was fantastic and we loved every bit of it, save for only two minor things: our bed and the pillows. We both found the bed to be a little too stiff for our liking. The two pillows included in the room were either super soft or very firm. I'm sure there are people who like a firmer bed, but we weren't them. Also, keep in mind that the parking lot isn't huge. It's a decent size, but it gets filled up quickly around dinner time, which isn't a surprise given how delicious the food is. Just keep that in mind that you may have to wait for a spot after a full day out. Those are the only negatives I can think of, and honestly even with that I think I would still return. It was a pleasant stay overall and we enjoyed ourselves. I definitely think a stay here is worth a shot for the average person, especially considering how close to the beach you are. You also don't need to travel for delicious food if you don't want to, and if you decide to do so, there are plenty of options within walking distance

I wish I could give 0 stars! This place is a disaster. The booking process proved quite difficult,…read morethe bed was essentially a cot (on wheels, squeaky old mattress with a bulge on the side), and shades that let light from the parking lot in all night. In addition to being able to hear the highway through the doors, we arrived to find a dirty towel draped over the shower curtain with pubic hairs on it. When we let management know they offered us water??? There is a sign in the room that says no discounts or refunds after paying so be sure to check your room THOROUGHLY before you pay--the sign is inside the room though so by the time you know this policy you've already paid. They claim to offer dinner but gave us some Halloween candies, a mini Gatorade and a cliff bar. When we booked we were told we'd have a cabin. When we arrived the management said (and this is truly not an exaggeration) that they had already given away the cabin because the other guest riding the Pan Mass Challenge had finished first--he also let us know he gave them a discount yet we were charged over $300 for a run down single room. I don't know if management knows the Pan Mass is a fundraising event for cancer research (though I did explain this over the phone when begging they honor the reservation we made) but to be told that the other rider got the cabin because they were faster is ableist, disrespectful, and frankly deplorable from both a hospitality and moral standpoint. We only stayed here because it's difficult to find bookings for the Pan Mass weekend and this was all that was left after Mass Maritime camping was unavailable due to Covid precautions. We would have been just as comfortable sleeping in our car. Update! Since posting this review my mother who booked the room was contacted by the management not with an apology or refund but a message saying my review is "out of line." As reviews are about honest feedback I will not be taking it down though of course I hope they are able to refurbish the place and turn it into a functional facility you cannot expect to charge guests $300+ for a single night in an unclean room without feedback.
