The Glen Cove Hotel & Restaurant was a great choice for us! I'm going to go over the restaurant and our hotel stay in this review. The location is perfect for those who want walkable access to local attractions in Onset. The beach is literally right across the street and is perfect for a quick frolick without having to lug around the needed beach accessories. The interior of the hotel is beautifully designed. It's slightly archaic (in a good way) and it felt like being inside someone's home. Check in was very easy, and they even called us to let us know that we could check in early (which we didn't since we arrived about an hour late). The room was cozy and clean. Don't expect lots of bells and whistles; it's set up is simplistic and I prefer that. Be aware though that there isn't a refrigerator in the room. They do provide 24 hour access to a fridge down in the lobby where you can get yogurt, water, juice, and milk. The included continental breakfast doesn't include any hot food, but they do give fresh coffee and hot water for tea and oatmeal. They also have cold cereal (great for kids), muffins, and granola bars. I would've liked hot foods to be available, but I think what they offered was fine especially for the fair pricing. The dining experience was fantastic. We had dinner here two nights: Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday night was quiet, and we ate on the outer deck. Our waitress (can't remember her name) was absolutely fantastic and knew the menu very well. She made some great suggestions and we loved everything we had. I strongly suggest the bruschetta. Thursday night was a bit different as they had live music in their downstairs bar (the 1883 lounge). We ordered mostly appetizers while enjoying the performance from Michael Paul Brennan. They had a coconut shrimp special which was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered that night was just as good as Tuesday. The service on both nights was also very good. We never had to wait around for our waitresses and they never rushed us throughout the evening. Overall our stay was fantastic and we loved every bit of it, save for only two minor things: our bed and the pillows. We both found the bed to be a little too stiff for our liking. The two pillows included in the room were either super soft or very firm. I'm sure there are people who like a firmer bed, but we weren't them. Also, keep in mind that the parking lot isn't huge. It's a decent size, but it gets filled up quickly around dinner time, which isn't a surprise given how delicious the food is. Just keep that in mind that you may have to wait for a spot after a full day out. Those are the only negatives I can think of, and honestly even with that I think I would still return. It was a pleasant stay overall and we enjoyed ourselves. I definitely think a stay here is worth a shot for the average person, especially considering how close to the beach you are. You also don't need to travel for delicious food if you don't want to, and if you decide to do so, there are plenty of options within walking distance

This review is about the restaurant side of business I had the opportunity to enjoy this place for Brunch and let's say it was definitely worth the adventure and my taste buds are still tingling with the thought of returning. NOW let's talk about what was ordered I myself enjoyed the surf and turf Benny which was Korean braised steak and a delicious crab cake with homefries seasoned to perfection a side of fresh fruit and I opted for scramble eggs with cheese and also at the table was a plate call No your average Joe which is a half of waffles eggs bacon linguica home fries and eggs and a Mamosi bucket where you make your own flavors definitely worth going back for Brunch.

Service was amazing! Out server Lindsey was super nice and Michelle greeted us with smiles and seated us. The poutine was amazing!!! The burgers were good. Price $80.25 for our meal. I would say I would come back with friends maybe try salmon.

We stayed and dined at the Glen Cove for Valentine's Day. We were spoiled with 2 bottles of wine sitting on ice, a half dozen chocolate covered Oreos, and a rose in our room to celebrate the day. Dinner was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed perfectly made drinks and short rib poutine by the bar before moving to our private dining table by the fire. Absolutely everything from the staff, drinks, food, beautiful location and interesting building made us know we will be back for another visit.

I wished I'd looked into other area options after being informed while checking in that the pet fee was now $25 higher than I was quoted on the website as of January 1st, and not being informed, noticing on the bill as I left, that there was an -additional- "pet cleaning" fee of $15 added to the tab. Something was off-kilter in the ventilation of the room I was assigned, and the air was often too dry for most of the evening while we were there. It eventually corrected itself overnight once I turned the fan mode off. I also noticed the lack of bathroom ventilation that a previous reviewer commented on and that the bathroom did not seem to be connected to the heating for the rest of the room. Proximity to a couple of restaurants across the parking lot was nice, and additional shopping areas are just up the street. Having driven by this place somewhat regularly over the last several years, I'm glad to have tried it, but not sure I would want to stay again.

The next morning they had me up at the crack of dawn and into the car before i could object. An hour and 10 minutes later we pulled up at the Bay Motor Inn. Cutest little cottages and a nice big pool. This was already looking good. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Irene, the proprietor, who made us right at home. The cottages were perfect, the kids had one and the boy an I had an adjacent cottage (complete with a cute little porch). The rooms were clean and well appointed, air conditioned and they even shuffled us around when we saw the porch unit. Fred and Irene could not have been better hosts. As we relaxed by the pool they made us feel like we were long lost friends. What a comfort in today's world of "institutional lodging". We had such a great time on day one that we stayed an extra day. Aside from the hotel's amenities and charming hosts the Motel was located in a perfect position for us. We could easily scoot to beautiful beaches, take a walk along the canal and even take the kids bowling, mini golfing and go kart riding (I lost all three but it was worth it for the family time!). Looking for a great, affordable getaway? Check it out... we loved it and we're already planning our next escape to "The Bay"! Shhh .... don't tell anyone ... I'd like to keep this one for me and the boy!

Between lunch, drinks while waiting for our massages , time at the pool , the salt bath, and relaxing in the solarium , there was never a moment when we felt rushed or overlooked.
