I googled auto parts stores in the area and called the 1st one, they told me they were closing due to the weather and wouldn't wait a few minutes for me to get there. called the next one and I couldn't understand the fellow who answered the phone (he couldn't understand me either) and when I asked if I could speak with someone else I was put and left on hold... Then I called Tinker Auto Parts, they were great!! he looked to make sure he had the right part so I didn't waste my time, and then he promptly told me they had what I needed and told me how to get there from where I was. I wish I remembered the gentleman's name that helped me because he was so nice and deserves a high five! The store was busy, clearly it is a favorite auto parts store in the community. Although it was late and cold and snowy, they offered to help get the broken cap off for me. I actually had already gotten it out and had it in my pocket but I appreciated the offer! And, they have an engine dynamometer to break-in and test your engine before delivery. All of their equipment is accurate and well maintained and, more importantly, they know how to use them! I've had two engines built by Scott's shop: a 625 HP, 400 ci small block Chevy and an 875 HP, 615 ci tall deck big block Chevy. Both engines EXCEEDED my expectations for durability and power. And, both engines are still running strong to this day. Merkel's isn't the cheapest shop around but, good work ain't cheap and cheap work can't be good. Scott's work isn't good....it's GREAT!!!

Karl, the salesperson standing behind the counter, told me to return to my vehicle and turn on my headlights so he could see which headlight was out. He informed me that it was my fog light, not my headlight, that was out, and then he advised me to replace both. He looked up on the computer the proper fog light bulbs to buy and also informed me that AutoZone does not install them. After I bought them, I immediately went to my car dealership to get them installed. Sadly, I had to return the fog lights because the dealership told me that my SUV does not have any fog lights--only daytime running lights and headlights. It was a replacement headlight that I needed. So Karl, the AutoZone salesman, advised me incorrectly, but I should have known that I did not have fog lights. It is a feature that I never needed to use, so I forgot that I did not have them. The moral of my review is: Head straight to the car dealer or a qualified mechanic if a warning light comes on in your vehicle. My headlight warning light may not have only been due to a burnt-out bulb but an electrical problem as well. Mechanics are experts at diagnosing the causes of warning lights. Also, take time to read your driver's manual to familiarize yourself with all the safety features of your vehicle. Next time I buy a vehicle, I will buy one with fog lights. I will not be returning to AutoZone again except to buy accessories for my vehicle. Nevertheless, I am giving this store three stars for Karl's attempt at providing good customer service.
