Joel tried multiple attempt to get it connected but it was just not working. So the machine was probably defective and or just old. Before leaving, he tried another approach involving an extra remote and some quick thinking, and he successfully got the garage device connected to my husband's car. We were extremely impressed and felt he truly went above and beyond. We'll eventually need to replace our belt-drive garage door openers, and Phillips will absolutely be the company we use. Because of my busy work schedule, I wasn't able to thoroughly inspect the fence before signing off. Once I finally did, I noticed several issues, including large and uneven gaps between the pickets, one broken picket that wasn't properly nailed in, and another that was bent at the top. I contacted Juan, and to his credit, he had the crew return to replace the broken and bent pickets. However, he never addressed my concerns about the large gaps in the fence. This is supposed to be a privacy fence, yet I can clearly see into my neighbor's yard when standing near it, which defeats its purpose. I reached out again regarding the gaps. Juan responded that he would let me know the next steps. Instead, he later sent me photos of someone else's backyard and tried to use those pictures to explain why the gaps were normal. Those photos were not of my property. I understand that wood naturally shrinks as it dries, but the gaps on my fence were already significant, and this was less than a month after installation. Rather than addressing my concerns or offering a reasonable solution, they chose to make excuses and use photos from another project to support their position. I've spent weeks going back and forth trying to resolve this issue, and it's been incredibly frustrating. I expected better communication, honesty, and customer service. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing, and I cannot recommend this company.

I told them thank you and I would get back to them if I chose to do business with them. They told me they could take a percentage off if I had them do the work now since they were there. The price was good I said OK. Throughout the process the tech tried to upsell everything. I repeatedly told him I only wanted the agreed upon service completed. At the end he wrote up the invoice and tried to charge me double of what he initially quoted me including a $70.00 credit card fee. The whole thing was a scam from the get-go. I called and complained and a supervisor came out to try to smooth things over, but I think that is all part of their game knowing most people will just pay to get them gone. By the way, this company uses various phone numbers throughout the process, some in the area and some not. Not sure what is going on there.......

We were able to get an automatic garage door installed and the old one taken out in about 1-2 days. The process went smoothly. However, when I called within that next before the warranty was over to try and get someone to service the door, the man on the line seemed very annoyed and would not send anyone over -- he even said "if I send someone over and it's just basic maintenance then you're going to be charged for the visit." It was not kind and neither was it forward looking to try and maintain positive relationships with their customers. I didn't bother calling back. I think they can definitely work on that and also on advising on maintenance plans after they install.

Leaving a review to help others considering working with Hire-A-Hubby…read more I needed to replace a 'gas cylinder' for a Herman Miller chair that I own and I set up a date for these guys to come out and try to remove the 'stuck' cylinder. The morning of the work, David told me his guys where sick and couldn't make it, so I reached out to another contractor who I told I would contact if 'H-A-H' didn't show up, cancelled, etc. Then 10 minutes later there is two guys at my door from 'Hire-A-Hubby'. I told them what David said, they where confused, so I just let them do the work. I called off the other contractor, apologized for the inconvenience, about 15 minutes later the guys got the cylinder out! I then asked how to pay, they told me David would invoice me. I then reached out to David and he wanted me to Zelle him. I then asked for an invoice and today, about a week later, I got an invoice and was able to pay through the Quickbooks they invoiced from. -- So, in a nutshell, do they do the job IF they show up? YES! Is their communication the best? NO -- If you're in an emergency like I was, this is my work chair, I need it as I'm on the computer ALL DAY so fixing this was needed, then maybe give them a shot. From other reviews it seems like they are just Handy Men, so if you need a specialist, electrician, etc. I'd maybe look elsewhere BUT if you need some good ol' grunt work, something moved, removed, taken down, put up AND you don't mind some miscommunication that 'might' occur, then H-A-H isn't a bad choice! Thanks David for the help, just leaving a honest review for everyone, I think an assistant could help their team a lot and clear up the loose ends.
