I got three estimates last week for a new door . Big Valley was the only one that gave me an actual written estimate and had brochures and a business card. One of the others was an hour late with no call just threw out a quote that was more than double. Gave no written estimate had nothing to show as far as information on different types of doors etc. the other was a bit higher but also put nothing in writing. I was in a pinch when my garage door springs had broken. I contacted Big Valley Garage Doors through Yelp around 7 am before they opened and they responded right away. I was instructed to call James, who answered immediately and said he would get back to me. He got back to me and was able to come help me out, bringing along another gentlemen (I believe his name was Nick). They fixed it in less than 45 minutes and provided me with information to properly care lubricate the parts of the garage door to prolong the life of the springs. I had an emergency garage fiasco. Came home from work in the evening time around 9pm. Tried contacting multiple garage repair places, got a quick response from Red. Oppose to other places, which they said they were a couple of days out until they can come see me, Red sent someone to my house the next morning. It couldn't be repaired at that time but he was able to get it back to closed because the garage door somehow got detached from the hinges leaving my garage visibly open. I could not have my garage open like that for a couple of days, that evening was enough. So he was able to at least get it back together and close it completely then came back in a few days to get me a whole new garage door. Quick and friendly! read more

2 stars because I have to give them something because the actual door and installation look great and it was put up in a timely manner....customer service and communication however were terrible. We received a disrespectful voicemail because we were unprepared when they showed up without scheduling a time with us. We have a young family and work full time so scheduling a time frame is crucial. We received an invoice and arranged to pay with the owner and then someone was sent to our house to collect money...again no communication. The owner apologized however I wouldn't recommend their services. read more

My dad n uncle came to the rescue and were able to get it open enough to get the car out but still definitely needed pro help. Sent a request out to yelp and Big Valley answered back right away. She gave me an estimate and said she could have someone out that day! She made sure her tech called me and set an appt. He came that afternoon, looked at the damage, gave me a few options and said he would call me the next morning with some estimates. He spoke to ME (The homeowner, a female. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about!! Addressed ME directly and not my dad n uncle who were there. Big points there!) Again, they checked in to make sure he came and I was being taken care of. Next morning first thing, he called like he said he would, gave me a price and set an appt for a day later. He showed up that morning (said between 9-10) he was there before 9, and finished before 10am! Very nice guy, super quick, knew what he was doing and made sure all was well with the work he did. We had a 30+ year old garage door opener that finally broke last week. I reached out to several garage door repair places on Yelp late Sunday night. When I woke up on Monday I had a message from Red (the owner at Big Valley Garage Doors) with a reasonable quote and a phone number to call to schedule the service. A quick phone call later and the service was scheduled. Bryan came out on Wednesday and did a great job with the installation. Based on the price, I figured it was a bare-bones model (that's all we really needed), but it turns out it's a wifi-enabled LiftMaster that you can control with the two physical clickers, or with a smartphone app. Also, the operation is much quieter than our previous opener. Bryan even added some lubricant to our door / rollers to ensure better operation moving forward. All in all, a great experience. read more

Tues. evening the cable snapped on my opener that probably dated back to the '80's, on an older home's detached garage. I Googled 'garage door opener repair Fresno' and was linked to Yelp. From there I found four top rated local companies and quickly got bids. Big Valley had the lowest bid to install a high quality opener with everything I wanted on it. We arranged a home visit for noon Wed. and it was all done by 1:15. Polite, efficient, fast, quality work, clean.... I couldn't be happier. read more

I was told this would be a free estimate, I thought it was going to be the motor because the door would open and close sporadically. Once the door opened it would take quite a few attempts to get it to close They came out 6/5/2021 and found the light sensors were dirty and needed to be cleaned. He figured this out as soon as he opened the garage door. . He cleaned the sensors and got it working again in 2 minutes. I asked how much this was going to cost and he said to hold on he was going to lube the door. All he did was spray the main spring. Again all done in 2 minutes. I was charged $125.00. Other companies were going to chage a $65.00 estimate fee. Based on the little time and work it took him, I would have expected a much lower fee. He was knowledable and fixed it right away but somehow I think a $65.00 estimate and the time it took to fix this would have been cheaper with another company than $125.00 I paid Big Valley door. read more
