This is my first review on yelp and if I could give this business more stars, I would! John is the absolute BEST! He is friendly, knowledgeable, and he quoted me a very fair price for the services I needed to be done. Before coming to this shop I was doing some research and had called John and a few other businesses to inquire about engraving services that I needed for 6 gold compact mirrors I wanted to be personalized with names for my maid of honor, bridesmaids, and myself. I visited All Star Awards last Monday where John and I spent about 10 minutes discussing specific details such as font, size, and placement of the names, and pricing. However, I ended up leaving to my car to compare my options. I have never had anything personally engraved before and had no idea that coating and material of the product can affect the quality of the engraving, but I decided to take my chance with John because he was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the process to me. On Friday that same week, he called me back and told me my mirrors were ready to be picked up! I was surprised at the quick turnover and I told John that I wanted to pick them up right after finishing work in the city at 4:00 because I'll be proposing to my MOH this weekend regardless of whether or not I receive the mirrors. However, I'd be arriving late due to traffic (He closes at 5pm and he's closed on the weekends). He told me not to worry and that he'll wait for me. I ended up leaving at 4:20 and driving there took about an hour. When I arrived, he presented me with the finished compact mirrors and they were exactly what I had envisioned!! They were so beautiful and I am so glad I decided to get one engraved for myself too! I recommend this business to anyone that needs a personalized gift and I'll definitely be coming back in the future to have more gifts engraved! Thank you so much, John! read more

I have used All Star Awards for services before with good results, but this time I had a terrible experience. First, the store supposedly opened at 11am. I arrived at 11am to find a note on the door saying that I needed to call the owner, and that he would come. I did this, and he said he would arrive in 8 minutes. He did this, but it was annoying that they didn't open when they said they did. . . . Anyway, I ordered two plaques from him at a price I found expensive, but I didn't question it because of the good experience there I had had in the past. These were plaques made from college degrees, and he asked ME to send the materials out to the plaque manufacturer; he didn't do that himself. When the plaques arrived, the manufacturer left the invoice in the box by accident, and I didn't discover this until I got home. The bill was $275 less than I had paid! I understand that All Star needs to make its money, but when I called John about this, he became defensive and yelled at me, telling me that I could bring my plaques back to him and that he would call the manufacturer about the problem. He also told me that his cost estimates were based on old financial figures, and that he didn't really know how much things cost currently. This is all too bad; the quality of the plaques is excellent - but next time, I will go somewhere else; I recommend you do the same. read more

I needed to get numbers put on the back of a jersey (only one) for a basketball league that I was joining. After visiting several other places that could not help me, I came here. John spent a lot of time helping me find what I needed, since my type of job usually requires special order numbers. But he was able to find spare numbers up in his stock room. I chatted him up, and he seemed very knowledgeable about the different services he provides, from silkscreening to embroidery. While this whole process took a bit of time, I fortunately wasn't in a rush. Prices weren't cheap, but I didn't think they were exorbitant either. I feel like this is definitely your local mom & pop sports/trophy shop. If you're looking for Kinko's-like service and delivery, you may not get it here. But you'll get a guy who knows his stuff and will work hard for you. read more

I had some mugs in hand that need to be reprinted (add an additional logo). After calling a bunch of promotional item company in the area, All Start Award is the only place does printing in house. Over the phone, John patiently explained to me the different process and possible solutions to reprint the mugs. Since he does printing himself, he is very knowledgeable of the process. After chatted with him, I now have to make some choices. My first impression over the phone with this company is excellent. Will update my review if I decided to go with him. read more

I've used John at All Star Awards several times in the past and I've always been happy with the result. 2 years ago I was assisting the Student Bar Association at my school and wanted to help out by getting plaques made for an awards ceremony. I found John on Google and stopped in to his shop to see what he could do. All Star Awards does all of the engraving in house, which is great because John can tell you what's in stock, how things are made, what turns out the best, etc. After looking at all of the sizes and styles I made my selection and found that I was about to receive the best prices I'd heard of so far. When I came back to pick up the plaques they looked amazing. Last year I was the president of the SBA and so of course I went back to John to get the plaques done again. They turned out just as well as the previous year. This time I also had John make the graduation gifts for our graduating class. We weren't going too fancy and had decided to have custom mugs made for each grad. John does all of the printing in house just as he does the engraving. John went through several catalogs to make sure that we got the best mugs that we could for our price range. We ended up with larger mugs than I had expected, and John found some that had an interior color that matched the print on the outside. We ended up with a much better deal than I had expected, and some really nice mugs to give to the grads. I don't know what H.C.'s problem was. I've had no problems with John's work. Everything has been completed promptly with no stress for me at all. Anyone that gives All Star Awards a bad review likely is having their own problems that are not a result of John's work. John turns out amazing products. The service will exceed your expectations and you will get a good price on your products as well. I haven't yet found anything that John cannot do, so if there is anything that you are thinking of, John can likely do it for you. I highly recommend John for all of your printing, engraving, or customization needs. If you need groomsmen/bridesmaids gifts - this is the place to go. Call John, he'll help you out. read more

I have worked with these folks for years as their engraver, and I can tell you their desire to get it right for the customer every time is always a top priority! I've found that their product is consistently high quality. The store is well stocked, and John is just a genuinely great guy. He's always warm and welcoming, and he's willing work extra hard to make sure the customer is happy. I would recommend All Star to anyone without hesitation! read more
