My opinion has changed greatly as I've become more of a bowler. I've been forced to come here a few more times over the years, and while yes, the facility itself is still very very nice, and the staff are all friendly, this is NOT the place to go if you're a bowler. There was nearly no oil on the lane, which makes me wonder how often they are actually oiled. The prices are also far and above any regular bowling alley, and you can only pay by hour. That said, I realize alleys like this don't really cater to serious bowlers, they are more for a family fun environment, so I get it. read more

Terrible service!! We went on a weeknight, half the lanes were empty, yet it took 30 minutes to even get the attention of a server to order some drinks. Then after we ordered it took 45 minutes to get the drinks. We tried to flag down staff multiple times but they would just look at us and walk away. Everyone we encountered seemed upset that we were even there. Will not be coming back. Also - even though the place was basically empty there were no bowling balls under 12 pounds. YES!! A family-friendly establishment near Valley Fair Mall that my kiddo will love. This place has it all-bowling, laser tag, arcade games, virtual reality and even a space just for us grown-up kids. There is no entrance fee to come in and observe, you pay for the activities as you'd like to. I was impressed by the quality of games available-I even played a few myself. Be prepared to throw down a good amount of money on the games-fun doesn't come cheaply. If you're looking for more grown-up fun, check out the adjoining Pales & Ales. Okay, I am not normally a gamer, but this place was legit!! I came for a Yelp event & I am so so glad I did!! We started off in the bowling alley & there were so many lanes! The technology & screens were amazing. It looked like you could play different games, but I just stuck to playing my gutter-ball specialty! we ordered food, which was great! This review is for pins & ales not the bowling alley as a whole. The service is TRASH. After order beer at the bar we were told we should order from our lane server. We played for a full hour and no one came. We order and appetizer on the little machine and someone came seemingly angry we ordered food. She asked if we wanted more beer and to keep the tab open - I specially said "will I have to come find you to order on my tab because no one has even come around at all" and she was like no I'm your lane server I'll be back. She never came back. I had to find her 3 times - once for condiments, then beer and finally to close our tab. All the servers are standing around doing nothing and you literally have to go find someone because the bar will lament serving you. 3 out of 5 because the bowling was fun and the French fries are delicious and crunchy but TRASH SERVICE read more

We brought the kids tonight. We played arcade games and won prizes. My kiddos love any game where they can use a basketball and hone their sklls. We rode the bumper cars as many times as we could. There are many different locations for All Star Bowling & Entertainment. I remember going as a child, I believe it was the Sandy location, but I hadn't been back in a while, so I tried the West Valley location. This entertainment center is in the Valley Fair Mall plaza. It looks big from the outside and decently nice. Once you walk in, there is a front desk that you check-in and pay for your tickets or choice of operation. There are some deals that go on on certain days. You can look into those on the website, but I think there were more available in person that I did not see. The service at the front desk was abysmal. The girl that was working there was non-responsive and had an attitude to begin with. When Stanley and I walked up to the front desk, she didn't even notice us for a while until we said "hello?" I wanted to use a deal that was not available for that day of the week, so she pointed to the different options on the board. She didn't really explain the choices to us, so I just picked what seemed best from her minimal explanation. We left the front desk and had to try out and see what worked for our pass and what did not. We thought bowling was included in the pass, but it ended up not being included. We were only able to play some laser tag, play some VR games, and an unlimited amount of arcade games. We had to continue to go back and ask the front desk what we were allowed to do. Also, a game broke on us and there was no one manning the VR game. Each time we went back to the desk, all of the workers were gathered talking and gossiping with each other. It was almost intimidating to go up and ask them to do their job. The place is okay for young kids; you're able to play an unlimited amount of games without having to pay for each one, if you buy a pass, which is a decent deal for parents. Yes it's large but half the games don't work, staff is horrible at there job, no one helps and it takes forever if you need it. We drove over an hour to come here and my mom wanted the Mario mushroom and they were all out so she wanted the display and they wouldn't give it to her even though they admitted to be out of them for months. We bought our tickets for laser tag and went down to take a seat to wait for it because the lady said we were up next then the same lady proceeds to let two groups go ahead of us and makes us wait 45 minutes - 1 hour instead of instead the original time she said that's five minutes .I'd recommend you take your time and money literally anywhere else. We came to have a good time. Pins & ales is good but the All Star counter needs to check with their Hispanic female clerk. Not familiar with her name but we weren't received with the hospitality we payed for. I get it, we have our good days and bad days but work is work, and she doesn't belong there. Upon checking in, she tossed our card back at us. We came at her respectfully with common questions, I would assume. Yet she was very rude and initiated our visit very uncomfortably. I travel to this area frequently. On this occasion I was at a fairly new hotel in the area and was surprised at the conveniences of a bar right next door! Oh the convenience, of a bar so close to the hotel, was was too much to hope for. No need to drive after drinking, who could ask for more? ... right? Wow! Was my first thought, what a great place. After the short walk about, I sat down at the bar and waited... and waited... after waiting, after like 10 minutes to even be acknowledged, by the Asian female behind the bar, I finally asked if I could get a drink. Whoa! Guess not. I was one of three patrons sitting at the bar. But her very uncustomer service response was, she would get to me when she was done with whatever chores she was doing. I will add, she was also not waiting on the other patrons, when I asked, so it seemed an appropriate time to draw her attention, that I had been sitting there waiting on service. Her response, did not go well with me, considering it was a customer service industry.. She was rather abrupt, rude, unfriendly and anything but customer service minded. I got up, walked out, since she was apparently too busy for me. I uber'd over to another establishment, about a mile or so away, where the customer servuce was spot on!! And well worth the additional costs of the Uber ride to and from. Sad when one bad apple, spoils the whole experience of an amazing establishment. I will not return. If I was able to leave a 0 review, I would have based on customer service. The venue its self deserves much higher rating for sure. Maybe will stop in again, unless the same asian girl is working. Their Sunday deal is probably the best deal in bowling in the world. You can play from open to close for $10. Lanes use the new Brunswick Anvilane and only one in this area seen this. They oil them regularly. The food is awful and all frozen but the bowling is so good still five stars. read more

If you like to spin the ball, don't come here because they don't wax the lanes. Clear lack of caring by the staff. If you want to bowl, check out the Bonwood Bowl instead. The location is very nice, the layout on the other hand. When you walk in the main entrance there is a front desk, they usually help with laser tag bumper cars in the arcade not bowling. You don't have to travel through the arcade to get to the bowling front desk. The service overall, but there was one server who stuck out from the rest his name is Jordan! He is phenomenal, he helped me order an appetizer, help me with my game, and answer any other questions I have! I did order the nachos, and if you're going to order anything I highly suggest them they were quite filling. The nachos were probably the best thing of the night, the other servers were not quite helpful as Jordan, the games are overpriced, and I had very little time to enjoy my games. Then I was told it was only for 1 ounce shots but my husband did have 2 of the one ounce Jack and cokes and it showed $2.50 okay great but had I been told that I would have gotten better cocktails than that for such an expensive price for just a half ounce extra!!! VR machine was broken (didn't tell us when we paid), employees working the front acted like it was an inconvenience to get off their phones to run games, and while sitting in the bowling area we got to watch two employees making out behind the counter.
