Dr Purcell did amazing work on my shoulder, and his staff has gone way beyond what is required of them. I had problems with other places, imaging, labs, things like that, and they were so quick to get on the phone and fix all those problems even though it wasn't their fault, just to make sure i was taken care of. They even delivered to my house, a pneumatic cryo shoulder brace, because they thought it would help with my pain and recovery. To my house, they personally brought it to my house and showed me how to use it! Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing Doctor and his outstanding staff for any orthopedic needs you may require. I am beyond happy and pleased by my experience.

Well the ankle dr was only "maybe" going to see patients there. He is normally at StJoe. It was all ridiculous.

The last time Dr Steven Porter went over my injury and explained what was showing on the xray. He then went over the treatment and explained everything and gave me a choice of what I wanted. The shot he gave in my arm worked miracles. I got a full nights sleep, the first since my second injury. Dr Porter was very patient and had great bedside manners. I would give him five stars!

Is there is more money in attempted repair than the TKR I had originally requested? I now wonder. Regardless, it has been just over a week; I am off pain killers and moving around with only a cane. I can even walk a little on even ground unassisted. With Weinstein and I couldn't walk properly for months. So after four months I went went back and complained to his face... which was a complete waste of time. My advice (and I did it this time) get multiple opinions, recommendations and do not let your self get sweet talked. Also pick a surgeon that specializes in the particular joint you are replacing or at least that are of the body, not one that can, or does, replace all sorts of other body parts.

I am a competitive powerlifter and I tore my vastus lateralis muscle (one of the quad muscles) attempting to squat 650lbs in a competition. It was nearly a full rupture of the quad muscle and my 28 inch thigh swelled up to well above 30 inches in circumference. Due to the nature of the injury it was imperative to get it looked at and operated on quickly. The staff at SOS got me in and out faster than I would have anywhere else. I got an MRI scheduled the same day as my initial appointment, and a surgery within ~2 weeks, even around the Thanksgiving holiday. Marissa at the front desk is always happy to help and made scheduling and payments a breeze. The X-ray technicians are friendly and accommodating especially when I could hardly move my leg. The PAs and doctors are great and were very mindful when removing stitches. Dr. Weinstein is everything I wanted in my surgeon. He is very knowledgeable and to the point. He won't lie to you or beat around the bush. He gave me the pros and cons of surgery and the possible outcomes with the various choices I had. The surgery itself was very successful and I am nearly back to where I was. He has taken the extra steps to make sure I get back to my goals of squatting heavy again and not stopping at "it's good enough". He treated me like a powerlifter and never once suggested that I should give up on squatting, which was incredibly helpful mentally, especially right after the injury.

You need to be aware that the questionnaire you fill out in the waiting room is considered a "Psychological Evaluation". You will be charged $980 for this every year if you go back. An urgent care - for Ortho injuries!! After checking in, I was able to complete the rest of the "paperwork" on my phone. I was told it would be about a 2 hour wait. I was immediately called back, had X rays and was diagnosed with a Radial fracture and was out of there within 90 minutes. This place is super efficient - everyone I encountered was amazing. So much better than going to the ER or urgent care - just to be sent home with a referral to follow up with an orthopedic doc. It's literally one stop shopping! My mother has been at the Center at Val Vista for…read more6 weeks post hospital stay for kidney stones, she was wheezing when we got there and I brought it up multiple times and they didn't even listen to her lungs until I requested a chest x-ray and they found she had pneumonia and a collapsed lung, they never gave her an incentive spirometer, so I brought one in myself to help her recover. She has been in physical therapy there every week day and still has not progressed over 2 steps, is bed bound 2 person max assist with hoyer lift and the CNA didn't read her chart and got her up in the shower by herself to stand and she fell (surprise) whole leg bruised knee swollen, again, I had to insist on x-ray. I was in changing her diaper one day and all I had to do is lift her one side to get the tabs out and the doctor walked in (Dr Veege I think, Asian descent) and I asked if he could help turn her towards me so I could finish getting the tabs out and he said "no" I asked why since she only weighs about 100 pounds, and he said " I can get an aide for you" Yesterday, they put her in a wheelchair and left her there, I get a call at work that the wound care nurse came in and there was blood on the floor from her foot from trying to put it on the foot pads and now she has her heal open and they will have to do wound care on that. She cannot feed herself and the chart has written bite size food and I also circle it everyday and they bring a full chicken breast not cut up and leave it in from of her for 4 hours from lunch and then document that she's not eating. I reminded the CNA Amanda that and the next day she did the same thing. She eats when I cut up her food but she cannot do that for herself and they are aware. We are moving her to another facility and I am filing a formal complaint with the State. Don't take your loved ones here.
