This place was recommended to us. After seeing the reviews we felt good about taking our parent's jewelry to be sifted for authenticity, appraised, and purchased. We had A LOT. Spent over an hour sorting and weighing. Things got a little dicey when the return didn't seem to match the values we found online. There was one gentleman who was kind, helpful, and validating. The other was socially awkward (but tolerable)...until we began asking questions. He stopped making eye contact and was super rude from that moment on. That's when we noticed his name tag read "manager". It took a substantial amount of time for him to test, sort, and weigh. Before the transaction was made, we challenged the value given. He wasn't willing to compromise at all, claiming this was the best he could do. He dared us to go somewhere else. He had placed the precious metals into small envelopes and when we withdrew, he made sure to mention the "envelopes were expensive" and haphazardly dumped the gold and silver jewelry into one of our pre-filled bags. We believe the owner tried to smooth things over by offering help to our vehicle, on our way he asked why we decided not to sell, and explained they are best in the area. We explained there was ZERO gain for us, that this was for a parent in a financially strained situation and that we hoped to be back if the value was as his employee claimed. We appreciated them taking the time to go through over half the jewelry and wanted to do business with them. Thankfully, there were multiple family members involved, and we were all in agreement this required a second look. We took the same exact jewelry to another place. They were fast, efficient and offered us $1000 MORE. The reason we gave 3 stars is because they were very patient, the owner made an effort at the end and the experience with the 2nd employee (who seems like a good human and would probably make a good manager). read more

I was told multiple times I could get $175 for the best projector you can buy without a remote. Came back two days later and they told me no there's no way they can do it without a remote. And I even told them take it for $100 and they still said no. I had done business with them before and thought they were great. I live in Vancouver. I saw on Facebook a great deal for an 8 piece Ryobi, 18 volt tool set for 100 dollars at the Tigard ATG location. seemed too good to be true so I called to confirm. The woman who answered put me on hold for quite a while after i asked about it. I was pleasantly surprised when she returned to the phone with confirmation that it was still available. I burned 10 dollars worth of gas getting there through horrible(typical) Portland traffic. When I got there it turns out that she and at least 2 other employees do not know a damned thing about cordless tools. They are also ignorant, or more likely just incompetent, of what they claim to be selling online. But wait, for my inconvenience they offered to let me have one of the movies they're selling for 2 dollars a piece. if you like your time wasted head to All That Glitters in Tigard. Good luck finding competent help when you get there. read more

I actually created a yelp account to review this place. BEWARE of BS: If their systems are down they won't return your items. Even with your redemption(pledge) ticket/receipt. I Pawned an item telling them I'd be back to get it Monday or maybe the same day before close. I called 15 minutes prior to closing just to ensure they were still working as it's New Year's Eve. The woman(I failed to get her name) who answered said their system crashed and they are unable to return my item. I asked why she couldn't take the money, return my property, then process the redemption on Monday when their systems are fixed. That's when the proverbial BS ensued. Not only was she was short with me, she also claimed(I believe falsely) that she was legally not allowed to return my property without first logging it in their system. I informed her I work for the state and that makes little sense. She made a snarky remark " so when your systems crash you still sell renewal tags." I told her of course we do, we are just unable to accept credit cards during the downtime and would 'push' the data once systems are restored. She was dead set on her claim that she couldn't return my property. I asked what's stopping you from grabbing the item listed on the ticket? does your system lock it in a vault which can only be opened with a working computer? so if I come in right now with the money you won't return my stuff? She said, "sure but you won't make it before we close"(still 8 minutes till) I told her I'm in the same complex right now I can see your store. She then said "it won't do you any good, Oregon law treats pawn shops like a bank and it's illegal for us to return your property without processing it in the system." I decided I wasn't going to continue arguing with this clearly unreasonable person. (IMAGE BELOW) No where on the redemption ticket does it state 'property returns are dependent on our computers'. What it does say is that my ticket(and money) are the keys to my property. Never again will I use this service and will report them when I find out who to report them too. Holding my item for three days longer than I desired seems fraudulent. Maybe I'm wrong, but BS shouldn't reign supreme and people should be held accountable. Our phone call took longer than the transaction would have taken. TLDR: use ANY other pawn shop, this one has shady practices. read more

This place is right along my drag and always advertises jewelry & firearms and power tools and whatnot. It looks pretty clean from the outside so I decided to venture in for some deals on ear bling and firearms to protect my carats. Lol. Anyhow, the ladies that work there are very nice, easy to talk to and pretty helpful, too. It is smaller than other pawn shops I have been in to, but this one is mostly (90% I i seems) jewelry, so that makes sense that it's on the small side. I saw a nice Glock that I was interested in, but they weren't very flexible on price, so no go on that. As far as the jewelry, they have a nice selection of white gold, reasonable prices (not rock bottom) and they have a jeweler that comes in weekly to do repairs and other stuff. I ended up buying some earrings & having them do some minor work on some earrings I bought at an auction that kept wanting to jump off my ears. Now they stay put and the work was reasonably quick and affordable. Overall, nice place, nice folks. Would come back again. read more

I am upset to say a woman of color was mistreated by a female worker in front of me. She was not aggressive and never even got rude, but the woman behind the counter just acted irrational when asked for a receipt. She behaved even worse, screaming and "86-ing" the woman of color when she asked for her gun lock and other items to be returned also. If I could give this location a negative star, I would do so. Today, I stopped into this location and was not only disappointed by the lack of customer service from the greeting on, but then offended by the so called "associate" who turned up his nose for a loan on the most expensive piece I had. Fist of all, he scraped the S#!T out of everything I had, then tossed a 14kt diamond necklace back at me and said, "I'll pass on that one, it's not registering as gold". All that after marking vintage family heirlooms with his scratching stone (Swear to god that he rubbed the hell out of each piece for a good 20 seconds or longer each time, with some real vigor and pressure.) I informed him that this piece had been used previously for a loan and that it was the newest out of the lot, and the highest of quality. He made his offer, to which I replied, "no thank you, I will take my business to the Milwaukie store." I then proceeded to collect my belongings and walked right out and called the Milwaukie location as soon as I got into my car. (Yes, I have been a customer there for so long that they are stored in my phone), checked to make sure they were going to be open for a little while, and drove all the way over to get my "passed on" necklace and other goods loaned upon. This is my second BAD "Customer Service" experience, at this location. And suffice it to say that I will never set foot in that place again. I have been a customer of ATG for well over 20 years now, and shopped at all locations in the Portland metro area, save this one... It's closer to where I currently reside, sure... but not worth it. And on a personal note to today's rude employee of the month; Gary, you might want to remember that it is us, the customers, who make that check you cash on payday available to you. From Beaverton, to SE Portland and especially Milwaukie ATG, Thank YOU all for making it a pleasure to do business with you. If you're in the market for anything from jewelry to tools to firearms to sporting goods, and you're not enchanted with retail outlets, All That Glitters (a pawn shop) is a good first stop in Tigard to see what's available and how much it costs. My fianceé and I visited because we were looking for an engagement ring; she knew about the place because she had bought a nice piece of jewelry there once before. We were not disappointed. The selection of diamond rings was good, and the (male) clerk was knowledgeable and happy to show them to us. We looked at 3 or 4 "single" rings and were ready to choose one when I noticed a diamond wedding set in an adjoining case, and asked to see that. My fianceé and I were smitten with the quality, the antique design, and the brilliance of the diamonds, so I made a downpayment and we put the wedding set in layaway. Six months later I paid them off, but before presenting them I had to have them resized for my fianceé. No problem: All That Glitters has a jeweler at its Division St. store, and he resized the rings for me for a small fee. Not only that, but while I was waiting, I found great deals on a circular saw and a palm sander! Talk about a happy guy... Bottom line: if you're a bargain shopper, garage-sale devotee, or occasional visitor to Goodwill or Value Village etc., don't forget to visit a good pawn shop like All That Glitters to see if they have what you want. P.S.-- my fianceé had her rings cleaned and appraised shortly after I gave them to her, and they were valued at about 15% more than we paid for them! read more
