We went there almost a week ago, to find a religious medal, on which I've already bought online…read moresimilar (same size, and one smaller than a dime size). This medal was the perfect size for my needs. I also purchased two more pendants. Paid for with my Credit Card. Sunday, I decided to re-arrange my pendants to go with my other pendants, and none of them fit my gold chain. I also found some gold rings to attach to my medals, and one of them didn't even fit inside my ring. I decided to return the two pendants. We drove all the way to Beaverton, just blocks away from the shop, when I took my receipt out of my purse, where it's been, to make sure I have it, when I read my receipt. (see photo below). I freaked out! Yes, I'm blocks away, and I'm freaking out, that they won't take it back. 20% RESTOCKING FEE? No return on jewelry and guns (I can understand guns, but jewelry?) I am not a crook, I'm an honest citizen, a previous customer, who gave them a good review, the first time. I decided to go back home and think about what else I could do! They didn't tell me any of THAT! They were busy! I opened a Credit Card Dispute on the phone, that evening. I also try to sell one of the pendants, to a friend of mine who like religious stuff, maybe, I can try to dispute the other pendant. After much talking, she decided to buy it for her daughter's graduation. I told her: I'll throw in the box and put a bow on it. I also decided, to keep the other pendant, that didn't fit my original chain, for a gift to my granddaughter's graduation (hopefully she won't see my review, and add a more expensive gold chain from my collection). I closed the dispute! LESSON LEARNED HERE: Make sure you understand the store's policy, before you take out your wallet. I could have been in a worst situation, I am glad, I found other solutions. For other people, not so lucky, you've been warned!

You should…read morenever expect to get "fair market value" at a pawn shop, honestly it cracks me up reading comments (not on YELP) with people whining that they were expecting more $$$. It takes effort to get full valve...taking to a pawnshop is a last resort. While I was waiting I took a look around. There were some really cool guitars, framed pieces, and watches. I purchased many Black Friday watches last week, so I just observed. I had two diamond rings. One was the wedding band I no longer wear, and another was a ring i purchased over 10 years ago. I presented them to him and i replied that i wanted $2,000 at least for both of them. He replied in no uncertain terms that he couldn't come close to this. Honestly that's what I was expecting. I have sold silver coins at this location before and received a very fair amount for them, however this was a quick visit. I respect the game, just didn't want to play this time

I came into Silver Lining Jewelry & Loan looking for an engagement ring, and my initial experience…read morewas excellent. Sal helped us from the moment we walked in, showed us several options, and took the time to answer our questions. We eventually settled on a ring and agreed on a price. To be clear, Sal had nothing to do with my one-star review. Because my bank wouldn't allow a charge of that size on my card, I had to return later with cash. About a week after my conversation with Sal, I came back ready to purchase the ring. This time, I was greeted by a different employee, a woman with white hair whose name I unfortunately did not get. After I pointed out the ring we had selected, she immediately told me that it was "probably not the ring" I was referring to. She then informed me that the ring was actually priced approximately $2,000 higher than the amount I had been quoted. A small discrepancy of $100-$300 would be understandable, but a $2,000 increase is significant and difficult to overlook. As we discussed the issue, Sal happened to come out from the back. The employee (The woman) began explaining why the higher price made sense, stating that if they sold the ring at the original quoted price, they would essentially be "giving it away for free." Considering the agreed-upon price was still $4,600, that explanation did not sit well with me. I may have misread the situation, but it seemed as though even Sal was uncomfortable with how the conversation was being handled. In the end, I acknowledge that I should have requested a written quote, and that's a lesson I'll take with me moving forward. However, the experience left me disappointed. What started as an exciting purchase for a major life moment ended with confusion, frustration, and a lost sale. Unfortunately, it also left a negative impression of a business I was initially excited to support. Edited: After reading the business's response, I'm even more disappointed than I was originally. First, my name is not Jesus, yet that's who they addressed in their reply. Second, nowhere in my review did I say that I found or purchased another ring, yet they responded as if that had happened. It honestly feels like they either confused me with another customer or didn't take the time to carefully read the review they were responding to. What bothered me most about the original situation was the lack of attention to detail and accountability surrounding such an important purchase. Their response only reinforced that concern. If a business cannot accurately identify the customer they're responding to or correctly understand the details of a review, it raises questions about how carefully they handle other aspects of their business. I understand that mistakes happen, and I appreciated the acknowledgment that the price quote was incorrect. However, this response created even more confusion and frustration because it appears to be based on assumptions rather than the facts I actually provided. If there were an option to give zero stars, I would seriously consider it. What should have been an exciting and memorable experience shopping for an engagement ring became a frustrating one from start to finish. For anyone considering doing business here, I would encourage you to get every quote in writing and verify all details before making any decisions.

I brought my SIG P320 XCarry into J&B to have a ROMEO-RS PRO optic and FOXTROT2R light installed, and Brandon couldn't have made the experience any better. He stopped what he was doing, took the time to install everything correctly, zeroed the optic, walked me through what he was doing, answered every question I had, and made sure I understood my new setup before I left. At no point did I feel rushed or talked down to. He genuinely cared about doing the job right and helping a new shooter learn. The level of customer service was exceptional and far beyond what I expected. They went above and beyond to make sure I left with everything installed correctly and the confidence to use my new setup. Customer service like that is incredibly rare these days. They've earned my business for life, and I won't be going anywhere else as long as I live in the Portland area. Whether you're a seasoned shooter or buying your very first firearm, I can't recommend Brandon and the entire team at J&B Firearm Sales highly enough. Thank you again for taking such great care of me. You've definitely gained a lifelong customer.
