Regret using All the Way Home Inspections, regret not being present during the inspection, and baffled that what is clearly mold stains and related moisture was not mentioned in the report despite it including pictures of what is clearly mold. The report only cited "water related moisture stains". It was very evident during walk-through, but my real estate attorney said we had no recourse outside of breaking contract since we had an inspection report with pictures of mold stains. Day after closing I had to call in a mold remediation service who will have to open up 2 large area of drywall to investigate source of water, remove infested drywall & studs, and repair the wall. read more

Being a first-time condo buyer, I was worried about hiring the right people to assist and guide me through the ordeal. One of the difficult things was finding a reliable, trustworthy home inspector. Therefore, I was relieved when I found Tyler on the internet and made the decision to hire him. Tyler apparently loves his job, and is a real people person. Before the listing agent even showed up, he was walking around the building, checking out the bricks and whether any tuckpointing had been done, and keeping himself busy. When we were all present and accounted for, we went upstairs, and Tyler went about doing what he does best: checking every nook and cranny, taking pictures, explaining to me what was going on, answering my questions, going down to the basement, checking everything down there, and never missing a beat. Tyler was fantastic, we used him to do a two flat inspection in the City of Chicago. Since it was a large job (3 stories) he brought an additional co-worker to help. It took a while, but I really appreciated that, because they caught so many issues that needed fixing with the property. And in return helped me negotiate a better purchase price on the building. I recently moved to Illinois from New York and I am in the process of purchasing a house. This is my first time buying a house so I did not know what to expect. I called a few places before I spoke with Tyler from All the Way and I scheduled an inspection. All the Way's rate was a little more economical than some of the other places that I called, so I was a little skeptical that he might not be as good as the higher priced home inspectors, but when Tyler and I met at the house he put all my skepticism to ease. He arrived on time (before me) and he was very professional, courteous, and thorough. Tyler inspected the house while I talked with my real estate agent in the kitchen about other business. Occasionally I would ask Tyler what if he found any red flags. He explained things to me in a way that made it easy for me to understand. He was very polite on several occasions when he had to re-explain things to me that I did not understand. I did not feel like I was being "talked down to". I have dealt with contractors in the past and sometimes it feels like a one sided conversation where I am too scared to ask questions because I didn't want to seem like an idiot. I did not get that feeling with Tyler. He was done after about two and a half hours (my agent had an appointment so Tyler accommodated us.) He seemed very systematic and methodical as he was inspecting the house which does not surprise me as he was an officer in the Army. He said that he would email the inspection report to me and it would have a lot more detail. I received the report later that night and it was more than thorough. There were pictures and explanations of everything. I was very impressed and I feel that I got my moneys worth. I do not write many reviews on Yelp.
