Fast, friendly, helpful response…read more Yesterday I had an issue with my Subaru where I had a low tire pressure light but could not figure out what tire was the issue. I put in a service request through Subaru, who in turn dispatched Hannan. Hannan got in touch with me and I was able to explain the issue, so instead of sending a tow truck they sent someone over to help inspect and change/repair the tire. The technician arrived pretty quickly - way faster than AAA ever has. We worked together to confirm the tires were actually fine and the issue appeared to be a misfiring sensor. He made sure everything was working well and the car was safe to drive before leaving. Honestly one of the better "roadside" assistance experiences I have had.

I called and asked about pricing. The cost (whether jump start or battery) was reasonable. Mr. Ayala said he'd pick up the battery on the way just in case - having gotten the information I had on hand for my make and model, and my equipment preference if it came to that. He also said that I wouldn't be charged for the battery if it wasn't needed - regardless of him making this outlay. As promised, he showed up about 45 minutes after our call - this is with him driving up to Baltimore. When he arrived, Mr. Ayala looked at the battery, said it was 2 years old, no corrosion - relatively young for the equipment. That it probably would be just a jump start (I had left the car sitting for too long). He then promptly walked me through the steps to jump it, while attaching the cords to the outlets. The car started. Then he had me turn it off without the cords attached to check that it still started, which it did. The service was $85. Perfectly reasonable. Convenient and timely, as well, and I found him to be pleasant and knowledgeable.

Predatory Towing I…read morehad an appointment at 1:30 PM at a commerce center and parked under a sign that stated: "No overnight parking along guard rail. Violators may be towed at vehicle owner's expense." This was during the middle of the day, not overnight. The "private parking" signs are not located where I parked, and those signs apply to tenants or customers receiving services. Another sign I later saw mentioned unauthorized vehicles, which did not apply to me. While speaking with the mechanic, I described my vehicle and he responded, "the car on the tow truck." I said no, then realized my car was already hooked up. I ran up the hill to the tow operator, who stated I did not have a permit. I explained I was a customer receiving service and was not parked in a permit-only area. Despite this, I was forced to pay $175 to retrieve my vehicle. Both mechanics and the store manager attempted to intervene on my behalf. The manager stated, "It wasn't even five minutes ,you had to be watching," and both mechanics said, "You can't keep doing this to our customers." When I explained the situation to the person processing my payment, I was told there was nothing they could do. I later called the towing company again to explain the situation and was told the same. Only after stating that I believed the tow was illegal did I get told a manager would call me back, which never happened. The tow receipt did not list a reason for the tow, and the recorded time was 1:42 PM, further supporting how quickly and unfairly this occurred. I have since reported this incident to the police and notified consumer protection agencies. I strongly caution others, especially customers receiving services in this area, to be extremely careful, as you can see the reviews already.

I was told the new arrival time would be 2:45 pm. No truck. I called again at 2:55 pm. They said the truck was 5 minutes away. Then at 3:05 pm, they said it was 15 minutes away. Two more calls around 3:25 pm then revealed that the car was either 10 or 15 minutes away. I canceled. Who knows whether a truck was ever en route. I would not trust these people to tow a raccoon across the street.
